  1. Open Original Shared Link to the best brownie recipe I have had since going gluten-free. It is free of wheat, gluten, dairy, casein, and eggs. I serve it to gluten eaters all the time, and they love it. So you know it is good! To make it soy free, use Enjoy Life chocolate chips.
  2. I think it's really easy for us all to tell you not to cheat. That isn't really the issue. The important thing is to figure out why you feel/felt compelled to eat foods that are not safe for you. Once we know that, we can help you over come it. What is the main issue for you? - Can't eat family favorites? Post some recipes and we'll help you convert...
  3. I have made No bake cookies with both gluten-free oats and Quinoa flakes. Both versions worked very well. Open Original Shared Link. I also tried to make them with Poha, and that version did not work at all. The poha stayed way too crunchy.
  4. There are many Salsa products on the Open Original Shared Link. We eat their salsa con queso all the time without any reaction.
  5. We always use the recipe from the Open Original Shared Link and just substitute the Health Valley cereals. I need to pick some of those up on payday. Chex mix sounds so good right now!
  6. There is a pretty lengthy discussion going on right now over on Delphi about this subject. It appears that Honey Baked Hams has reformulated their glaze, and it is now gluten-free. Open Original Shared Linkto that topic.
  7. The orginal poster of the recipe said she freezes hers (Unbaked) all the time with no noticeable impact on the taste and texture. She freezes it in balls rather than rolling it out and putting it in the pan before freezing. I think I am going to try that next time I make the recipe. I searched the Deseret News website, and came up with Open Original...

  9. Here is the Open Original Shared Link. Their french fries are not on their gluten-free list because many restaurants cook them in the same oil as the nuggets and fish. Here is what the website says about the Fries: I have found Wendy's with dedicated fryers before, but you have to ask at each one. Make sure you watch them make the cheeseburger...
  10. I use the recipe on the side of the Libby's can with no modifications. For the crust, I either use Open Original Shared Link or Open Original Shared Link. Both work great.
  11. See Open Original Shared Link.

  13. If you have a Costco near you, the Kirkland brand children's multivitamin says gluten-free right on the bottle.
  14. Open Original Shared Link sounds like the one you are looking for. It's my favorite pie crust recipe.

    ARCHIVED Oats

If it was a Quaker product, it was most likely contaminated with gluten. Here is what the Open Original Shared Link says: Since quaker oats aren't grown/stored/transported separate from gluten grains, they can definitely be contaminated. We eat the certified gluten-free oats without problems, but I definitely wouldn't take a chance on...
  16. I am not crazy about most of their stuff either. But I do like their Open Original Shared Link. They are the only ones I have been able to find without soy. Soy isn't a problem for me, but I have a friend that has to avoid gluten, soy and dairy. When I cook for her, I use the Enjoy Life chips.
  17. His birthday isn't until the 19th, so we still have a lottle more time. I asked him, and he said he would rather to treat bags than food. I think he is still stinging a little from last year. I looked into Silly Putty, and even on Ebay it was more than I could afford. Good suggestion, though. I am going to check out the dollar store this week to...
  18. Open Original Shared Link helps explain the difference. Here are a few key points: * Gluten intolerance is an adverse food-induced reaction that does not involve the immune system. This is a reaction in the digestive tract that causes gastrointestinal symptoms. *Celiac disease is an autoimmune condition. Autoimmune disorders occur when the immune...
  19. Check out Open Original Shared Link. I haven't tried it yet, but have heard good things about it.
  20. I had iron infusions prior to my celiac DX. My doctor said that my iron was the lowest he had ever seen. It is an office procedure administered by a nurse. You will be given a strong antihistamine like Benadryl before they start the infusion to help you avoid an allergic reaction. You are likely to feel a little sleepy from that. They may require you...
  21. I am very confused. If he doesn't need to be gluten-free, why would you tell the school to not feed him gluten? Can you help me understand? Normal school lunch fare is full of gluten. If you are going to want to have a gluten-free school lunch provided by the school, they most likely will not be able to do it without special preparation and effort....
  22. I just looked at the Open Original Shared Link website. Lucky Charms is an oat cereal, made with both whole grain oats and oat flour. These oats are almost certainly contaminated with gluten, because they are not gluten-free oats. I would be interested to know what source says Lucky Charms is gluten-free.
  23. I wouldn't touch it. They have been shown to have some serious problems with gluten contamination in the past. They would have to show some independent testing to prove they have resolved their past problems before I would trust their products. Be careful out there.
  24. I seem to be able to tolerate the gluten-free oats quite well. I don't eat them often because of the expense, and I haven't wanted to test how much I can tolerate. For those of you that have tried the gluten-free oats, how much are you eating per day? Do you find that you can eat them up to a point, but not past? I think the last thing I read was that...
  25. Here is what Dannon's website says. I won't eat their products because I think they are doing a CYA and don't want to say if their products are gluten-free or not. Most yogurt has pectin in it as a stabilizer to keep the whey from separating. I don't know of one without pectin, but maybe someone else does. I make my own yogurt with a starter and...
