ARCHIVED Who Has Gfcfsf Brownie Recipe?
cruelshoes replied to Offthegrid's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
Open Original Shared Link to the best brownie recipe I have had since going gluten-free. It is free of wheat, gluten, dairy, casein, and eggs. I serve it to gluten eaters all the time, and they love it. So you know it is good! To make it soy free, use Enjoy Life chocolate chips. -
ARCHIVED Trying To Bring Myself Back After A Gluten Binge
cruelshoes replied to merly's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I think it's really easy for us all to tell you not to cheat. That isn't really the issue. The important thing is to figure out why you feel/felt compelled to eat foods that are not safe for you. Once we know that, we can help you over come it. What is the main issue for you? - Can't eat family favorites? Post some recipes and we'll help you convert... -
ARCHIVED Gluten Free No Bake Cookies
cruelshoes replied to blueeyedmanda's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
I have made No bake cookies with both gluten-free oats and Quinoa flakes. Both versions worked very well. Open Original Shared Link. I also tried to make them with Poha, and that version did not work at all. The poha stayed way too crunchy. -
ARCHIVED Tostitos Salsa Con Queso
cruelshoes replied to Joni63's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
There are many Salsa products on the Open Original Shared Link. We eat their salsa con queso all the time without any reaction. -
We always use the recipe from the Open Original Shared Link and just substitute the Health Valley cereals. I need to pick some of those up on payday. Chex mix sounds so good right now!

ARCHIVED Honeybaked Hams
cruelshoes replied to ilovechocolate's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
There is a pretty lengthy discussion going on right now over on Delphi about this subject. It appears that Honey Baked Hams has reformulated their glaze, and it is now gluten-free. Open Original Shared Linkto that topic. -
The orginal poster of the recipe said she freezes hers (Unbaked) all the time with no noticeable impact on the taste and texture. She freezes it in balls rather than rolling it out and putting it in the pan before freezing. I think I am going to try that next time I make the recipe. I searched the Deseret News website, and came up with Open Original...

ARCHIVED Can She Have A Wendy's Cheese Burger..no Bun?
cruelshoes replied to Kara'sMom's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
Here is the Open Original Shared Link. Their french fries are not on their gluten-free list because many restaurants cook them in the same oil as the nuggets and fish. Here is what the website says about the Fries: I have found Wendy's with dedicated fryers before, but you have to ask at each one. Make sure you watch them make the cheeseburger... -
ARCHIVED Pumpkin Pie Help!
cruelshoes replied to blondebombshell's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
I use the recipe on the side of the Libby's can with no modifications. For the crust, I either use Open Original Shared Link or Open Original Shared Link. Both work great. -

ARCHIVED Need Suggestions For Gluten Free Children's Multi Vitamin!
cruelshoes replied to FootballFanatic's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
If you have a Costco near you, the Kirkland brand children's multivitamin says gluten-free right on the bottle. -
Open Original Shared Link sounds like the one you are looking for. It's my favorite pie crust recipe.

If it was a Quaker product, it was most likely contaminated with gluten. Here is what the Open Original Shared Link says: Since quaker oats aren't grown/stored/transported separate from gluten grains, they can definitely be contaminated. We eat the certified gluten-free oats without problems, but I definitely wouldn't take a chance on...

ARCHIVED Enjoy Life
cruelshoes replied to NorthernElf's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I am not crazy about most of their stuff either. But I do like their Open Original Shared Link. They are the only ones I have been able to find without soy. Soy isn't a problem for me, but I have a friend that has to avoid gluten, soy and dairy. When I cook for her, I use the Enjoy Life chips. -
ARCHIVED Need Non-food Ideas For A Birthday With The School Class
cruelshoes replied to cruelshoes's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
His birthday isn't until the 19th, so we still have a lottle more time. I asked him, and he said he would rather to treat bags than food. I think he is still stinging a little from last year. I looked into Silly Putty, and even on Ebay it was more than I could afford. Good suggestion, though. I am going to check out the dollar store this week to... -
ARCHIVED Please Explain The Difference Between Celiac Disease & Gluten Intolerant
cruelshoes replied to dolly's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Open Original Shared Link helps explain the difference. Here are a few key points: * Gluten intolerance is an adverse food-induced reaction that does not involve the immune system. This is a reaction in the digestive tract that causes gastrointestinal symptoms. *Celiac disease is an autoimmune condition. Autoimmune disorders occur when the immune... -
ARCHIVED Supplements Without Allergens?
cruelshoes replied to Offthegrid's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
Check out Open Original Shared Link. I haven't tried it yet, but have heard good things about it. -
ARCHIVED Iv Iron - Anyone Had To Get It?
cruelshoes replied to a topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
I had iron infusions prior to my celiac DX. My doctor said that my iron was the lowest he had ever seen. It is an office procedure administered by a nurse. You will be given a strong antihistamine like Benadryl before they start the infusion to help you avoid an allergic reaction. You are likely to feel a little sleepy from that. They may require you... -
ARCHIVED Packing A Lunch Vs. School Lunches?
cruelshoes replied to darkmindead's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I am very confused. If he doesn't need to be gluten-free, why would you tell the school to not feed him gluten? Can you help me understand? Normal school lunch fare is full of gluten. If you are going to want to have a gluten-free school lunch provided by the school, they most likely will not be able to do it without special preparation and effort.... -
ARCHIVED Is It True That Dora The Explorer Cereal Is gluten-free?
cruelshoes replied to Kara'sMom's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
I just looked at the Open Original Shared Link website. Lucky Charms is an oat cereal, made with both whole grain oats and oat flour. These oats are almost certainly contaminated with gluten, because they are not gluten-free oats. I would be interested to know what source says Lucky Charms is gluten-free. -
ARCHIVED Deland Bakery
cruelshoes replied to MyMississippi's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I wouldn't touch it. They have been shown to have some serious problems with gluten contamination in the past. They would have to show some independent testing to prove they have resolved their past problems before I would trust their products. Be careful out there. -
ARCHIVED For Those That Eat The gluten-free Oats
cruelshoes posted a topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I seem to be able to tolerate the gluten-free oats quite well. I don't eat them often because of the expense, and I haven't wanted to test how much I can tolerate. For those of you that have tried the gluten-free oats, how much are you eating per day? Do you find that you can eat them up to a point, but not past? I think the last thing I read was that... -
ARCHIVED Dannon Plain Yogurt- Is It Okay?
cruelshoes replied to oceangirl's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Here is what Dannon's website says. I won't eat their products because I think they are doing a CYA and don't want to say if their products are gluten-free or not. Most yogurt has pectin in it as a stabilizer to keep the whey from separating. I don't know of one without pectin, but maybe someone else does. I make my own yogurt with a starter and...
