I was wondering if anyone tested positive on Enterolab's casein antibody test, gave it up for awhile, and then started eating it again? I have not had any in a few months. I have not tried it, but was wondering when would be an okay time. I have a yogurt maker and the yogurt starter I have has milk protein in it. Even if I make it with soy milk there...

my friend rarely gets auras, but they are related to the stroke she had years ago. I see moving moons across my vision sometimes. They follow the movement of my eyes. My doctor says I am actually seeing a part of my eyeball! Interesting. I have sensitive vision sometimes and things are sparkly and alive looking. Sometimes I see movement in the air...

fedora replied to thezoo17's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
what happens when you eat Barley or Rye? Did you have the tests after going gluten free? I would not eat wheat ever again. -

hi, although your two genes ALONE are gluten intolerant genes TOGETHER they may make the complete celiac gene. The reason is DQ2subtype 2(also known as DQ2.2) is half the full DQ2.5 celiac gene. Some of the DQ7(also known as DQ3 subtype 7) genes are the other half of the full DQ2.5 celiac gene. So when DQ2.2 and the right DQ7 gene come together they... -

well, although she doesn't have the main 2 genes for celiac, that can't 100% rule out that she can't get it. Some people get celiac without those two main genes. Even without celiac, she could still be gluten intolerant. HOw old is she? Is the Immunoglobulin A, QN, Serum 135 the total IgA level? -

I am doing what I can to help my nerves, muscles, and joints recover. I take a calcium, magnesium, vit D supplement. I take a iron and vit Bs supplement. I take glucosamine... -

Please remember that you may have caught this before serios damage was done. There could be damage in places they did not check. The true test is the diet. If the diet works there is your proof. You could do enterolab if you need physical proof. -

hey, I am sorry. That is too bad. I had mono at 15. Years later my mom had a resurgance of EBV. It was bad for her. She hurt and was exhausted. She couldn't sleep well either. I ask her what she did. The only thing I remember is she was on an anti-viral medication for a while. She pulled through though. Good luck -
ARCHIVED Celiac And Iga Deficient?
fedora replied to vmlehtonen's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
vicki, was your level grams per liter or milligrams per liter. I found two other references that referred to milligrams instead of grams. they said <5milligrams per dL and this at emedicine: Total immunoglobulin A deficiency (IgAD) is defined as an undetectable serum immunoglobulin A (IgA) level at a value of 5 mg/dL (0.05 g/L) in humans. Partial... -
ARCHIVED Celiac And Iga Deficient?
fedora replied to vmlehtonen's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
hey, hey Joni! I found this online on pubmed We measured salivary, urinary and fecal secretory IgA (sIgA) levels in 11 children with total IgA deficiency and in 6 children with partial IgA deficiency using an ELISA technique. This was based on flexible microplates coated with antisecretory component (SC) and peroxidase-conjugated anti-IgA as a second... -

I got two at 12 and then no more untill I had a son and twins, then got two more. Wouldn't you know it, my teeth are getting worse and I have two more now(celiac related?) My poor son had 2 teeth pulled at six. Horrible. I had them fixed twice already too. For us it was not making them floss until he was five. The boys teeth are tight together. We... -

hi, I told my daughter. I think she would like to write, but needed time to think about what to say. She just went on the gluten free diet(we did a short test run before). It has not been easy this week, she cheated with a cookie on Friday at a play(I will be way more prepared next time). We are not sure if it is going to be the answer, but she has a... -

as far as the sore throat, it could be air allergies. I have a slight sore throat on and off and a post nasal drip. fun. It is pollen, pet fur, dust, dirt. I hope it improves the longer I am gluten free. It did improve for my friend next door. -

what is the proper way to have a mercury filling removed? My husband and I both had an old one removed because of further decay. They were replaced with the white resin stuff. I know we had dental dams. My dentist had new equipment for removing metal fillings. Seems like he was careful and they vacuumed stuff out alot. He wore a mask. That was years... -

fedora replied to Billygean's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
hi, you have symptoms and a family history. I would definately get tested. Please realize that you should be eating gluten until after you get the blood tests and/or biopsy. Also realize that they can give you false negatives. If you do have negative results I would still try out the gluten free diet -
