ARCHIVED Just Diagnosed And I Do Not Want To Believe It
ang1e0251 replied to Liz790's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Call your dr and tell them you want the blood test immediately. You don't even need to see the dr for a blood draw. Then go on the gluten-free diet immediately. You can't sit around sick while your dr's maybe decide to draw blood or maybe do nothing. -
ARCHIVED Please Help!
ang1e0251 replied to arkoflove's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
The worst glutening I ever experienced was from individual packets of stevia. Look at the ingredients of what you're using. The packets had wheat. Now I use pure stevia extract, quite a lot, every day. I have no problems with it. -
ARCHIVED "Super Sensitive" Celiacs.....
ang1e0251 replied to jerseyangel's topic in Super Sensitive People
I just wanted to mention the website, elance. It's place where persons with skills and employers can communicate and bid for work. Let's say you can type. You go into the site and look for typing jobs. When you find some you like, you can bid on them. The employer accepts the bid they like and you have a job! It's all done this way so you can work out... -

ARCHIVED Any One Here Have Foot Pain When They Eat Gluten?
ang1e0251 replied to Lynayah's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Hey, I'm glad to support you and I totally understand being given drug after drug. I don't want to treat symptoms, I want to find the root problem and reverse it! I wanted to mention several things to you that I have read from other posters regarding the pain of inflammation. I already mentioned that much of my pain was related to eating grains and... -

I'm sorry, I'm Angie and I was just trying to joke saying I have refined my own diet to me. Weak humor! -

ARCHIVED Irritated
ang1e0251 replied to Dasmith's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
I kind of get the feeling sometime that people think we do this for attention or to be different. If they just thought it through, who would choose to eat or live this way? I would choose something easier if I wanted attention, like weird colored clothing or shave my pet so people would look. Really, you think worrying about every bite that goes to your... -
I did not keep my Tupperware flour container. I did keep my glass candy containers with glass stoppers that I had kept pasta in.

ARCHIVED Any One Here Have Foot Pain When They Eat Gluten?
ang1e0251 replied to Lynayah's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I hope this is helpful to you. I have been "overweight" since I hit puberty around age 12. That is I saw myself as overweight but I wasn't carrying a lot maybe, 10 pounds. I learned to be OK with that much and if I drifted away, about once a year I could diet and bring it into line. About 20 years ago, I began to have stomach pain and edema. I had... -
ARCHIVED Gluten Free And Yeast Infections
ang1e0251 replied to Chalula88's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
For healthy dietary fats, eat butter, never margarine. Also avocado to any foods you can. Coconut milk and coconut oil are bother excellant. The great thing about coconut is that it contains certain fats that are also present in breast milk. These are very important for our bodies but hard to get in other foods. If you can tolerate dairy, always have... -
ARCHIVED Info On Emerging Symptoms?
ang1e0251 replied to Susanne50's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
I would say I had symptoms for years, digestive, neurological, fatigue and fuzzy brained. It built up for me but probably took a turn for the worse after my gallbladder was removed. I went for it, went completely gluten-free from one day to the next. I was one of the lucky ones, I started to see improvement right away. Within 12 hours, I had the first... -
ARCHIVED Endoscopy Biopsy Results Negative For Celia Disease
ang1e0251 replied to Rudi's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Well, first I would stay on a diet that makes me feel good (that's what I did), second, I would ask for copies of the blood work and biopsy. Sometimes the interpretation of the results can vary from dr to dr. Post the results here. There are some knowledgable people who can give you an opinion. There are plenty of stories of people who had negative... -
ARCHIVED All Of My Labs Are Normal So Far...
ang1e0251 replied to Tabasco's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
The test didn't tell you what genes you do have only those you don't. In other countries, they recognize additional genes. I think trying the diet is the next logical step. You could still be gluten intolerant which would require the same treatment; the gluten free diet. -
ARCHIVED Gluten Detox
ang1e0251 replied to Laurelf's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Are either of you eating alternate grains? They really do a number on me. How about dairy? At first you should not eat dairy as most of us have damaged villi that cannot tolerate dairy. I would suggest to both you to give up dairy first. See if you see improvement in a few days. If not stop the grains and see how you feel. It's the only way to... -
ARCHIVED Negative Test - Need Some Advice
ang1e0251 replied to beanbird's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
I haven't been tested because I don't think I could take a challenge long enough for it. I was gluten-free about 6 months when I was financially able to be tested. I don't care about the test, I'm just glad I feel like a normal person again. -
ARCHIVED Got My Blood Test Results
ang1e0251 replied to marijoy's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms

ARCHIVED Gluten-free Diet--trial
ang1e0251 replied to KristenPK's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
As mentioned, 3 month's would be a good trial. Keep a food journal to help you zero in on patterns, etc. Note all her symptoms. Take this with you when you visit the dr. -
ARCHIVED 3 Weeks Into Celiac Diet Frustrations
ang1e0251 replied to cyoshimit's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
For all of the newbies, you will feel better. I promise, time will little by little get you there. This problem didn't start all at once. It built over time and it makes sense that you will not heal all at once. In the meantime, all of you could benefit from vitamin supplements. They have been key in my healing especially the fatigue. Remember that... -
ARCHIVED How Did You Start Your Diet
ang1e0251 replied to bahrbdoll's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I started out very simply because I didn't have the rescources to buy processed foods. In hindsight, I think that is the best way to start. Give yourself a good foundation and later build from it. It's less stressfull than learning an entire new way to eat, socialize, buy food and cook all at once. Buy and prepare simple whole foods in your own kitchen... -
ARCHIVED Any gluten-free Syrups That Taste Like Aunt Jemima? Help!
ang1e0251 replied to teitei's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
For pancakes, I found the mixes to be rather bland. I added vanilla and cinnamon and that did the trick for me. I also found I liked the mix rather thin because the pancakes tasted better to me thin and a little crispy. -
You don't have to buy items that are marked gluten-free. Just shop the edges of the store and eat basic whole foods. That's actually the diet I think all persons new to gluten-free eating should follow. Start the diet by eating simple, whole foods that you prepare yourself with single ingredient spices. First throw out any spices that you might have double...

Aldi's Products
ang1e0251 replied to summerteeth's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I use their regular mayonnaise with no problems. I don't buy any product that is low fat. First of all our bodies need healthy dietary fat for our muscles like our heart and for brain power. Secondly, as the PP pointed out when fat is reduced, it's usually replaced with sugar and/or gluten. I do not need either one of those! -
ARCHIVED Any gluten-free Syrups That Taste Like Aunt Jemima? Help!
ang1e0251 replied to teitei's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
A friend told me her mom always made syrup with water and brown syrup heated. It's pretty sweet, he might like that. Actually melted in a little coconut oil would be very good for him. I can't taste any coconut flavor in the kind I use.
