  1. My husband can get very moody. This morning, he was upset that I was leaving before he was (I am trying to get to work early so I can leave early) but over lunch, he was fine. Tonight, it will probably be back to moody hubby. But, tomorrow morning, he will wake up early, make our eggs (me 2, him 2, youngest son who is 13, 7 eggs), move his car so I can get...
  2. Oh, separate wooden cooking utensils - I came home and a neighbor boy, used one of my good wooden utensils to make his gluten filled soup with - I tried to use it, got really really sick and had to give it to good will. Hated to do that when I paid quite a bit for the handmade, cherry spatula.
  3. Dextrin is a corn derivitive, not gluten. Also, citric acid is usually corn or some type of mold derived - safe for gluten-free people.
  4. I am the only one with this many restrictions - my boys have food intolerances but not on this level and we don't use onions any more in cooking for my husband who can no longer tolerante any onions, at all. I have several things: -Safe counters and shared counters -gluten-free foods only pots, shared pots (like stainless steel), only their pots (we...
  5. I have been doing square foot gardening for about 15 years and love it. It just makes sense. I don't like to weed and our current house we really set it up right. This year hubby tried growing tomatoes and bell peppers upside down in pots, the plants grew great but didn't produce like they should have and then all died when we went out of town for a long...
  6. I eat there fine, I don't go the gluten route, I tell them that I come here, they can cook for me, and then I tell the server how I want my food prepared, how I want it cooked, etc. The cooks in the back know my order but the servers seem to turn over more often - and when I get a newbie, I am very specific.
  7. I haven't had lunch with your mom yet but the place was my suggestion. We have a tenative date set for the next time she is back in B-town! NoGluGirl - I did the diet first, refused testing but agreed to a biopsy, which was negative. I actually told my doc that I refused to do a gluten challenge for testing and was happy that I felt better. She was fine...
  8. My lactose intolerant son is like that too - if it is an internal "hurt" he doesn't seem to notice and has a very high pain tolerance, on the outside, well compeletely opposite (my oldest has the exact opposite issues, on the inside/invisible he is miserable, on the outside, no problem). Anyway, it was a year after we figured out the lactose thing before...
  9. I am pretty sensitive too - I get a new lotion, have to give it away because it makes me break out. Just the right shampoo or my head itches, just the right soap, etc. I haven't had any problems/reactions with my tattoos and I love them. The one that hurt the most was on my hip and it runs from bottom of my tummy (no more kids for me) to my upper thigh...
  10. That actually happened twice in between my husbands. Some others wanted to move in together pretty quickly, sorry, I have kids and they haven't even met you yet--and they knew I had kids. Single men just want to get serious...haven't seen many who didn't except for once or twice anyway...
  11. I agree with the guys perspective - guys don't care that much, bring him extras in your cooler, make sure you have some fun drinks for yourself, issues sounds more mental than physical, go with wheat allergy, anything made with real flour and grains if he asks, then have fun. Guys are usually much more willing than I am to give in on something. Always...
  12. I have way too many allergy problems to go with a hankerchief. However, I will go that route if it does get to that point. I have had to stop using plastic bags for shake and bake oil and seasoning on my homemade steak fries and went to mixing in a bowl that we wash. I don't get sick anymore from that area. Not sure if it is a corn thing or not, I just...
  13. Hey, your list is almost identical to mine, except I can still have rice and nightshades (tomatoes, white potatoes, peppers, eggplant). I can't have bananas either but it isn't in my sig. I occasionally still have problems and continue to become more sensitive. I figured out why I cannot have most non-dairy milks (rice & nut) is because of the calcium...
  14. For corn, you really, really have to watch. It is in everything from paper products to your salt--depending on how sensitive you become. As to the shared toaster, I wouldn't go there. I have seen toasting bags mentioned on this board but don't know where you could find them. My gluten-free, SF, CF, DF, YF bread doesn't hold together enough to toast so...
  15. Perfect...now I am off for the day. Have a great evening.
  16. I can be gone for lunch between 11:15-2:00, whatever will work for you - but I prefer to go when they aren't too busy so early or late, your choice.
  17. I actually laughed at him when he first mentioned the DNA bit - he is a guy, with lots of hair, lots of kids, you know it's out there - hair falls out, he is not meticulous with his space so you know there is stuff in there...I just laugh when he says that, just a little paranoid. Of course, this is the guy, who moved to a safe location in case there...
  18. Thanks that was my next step...it has kind of been at the back of my mind, every time I go to do laundry.
  19. Sounds great... I just checked and I have a staff meeting from 9-3 that day but we break for lunch and I am free after.
  20. Hey, I lived in the Fieldstone division until 4 years ago - met my current hubby after I bought my 1st after the divorce, house there. I lived on Stardust Way or Circle (used to be Cobblestone but because they had 2 more cobblestones in the neighborhood, they changed it). Carla, not sure I have ever seen your house but it we go that way, I will be sure...
  21. I have found, the more I am away from corn (as I was with gluten) the more sensitive I become. There are things a year ago that were not a problem but now they are...I figure I will avoid more and more corn as the time goes. I read that bounce is bad, corn wise from the middle site you listed - any other dry sheets safe?
  22. I tried to go in once with my kids because my dad wanted to go and no dice - can't remember where we ended up but it wasn't there. I thought they allowed kids in after the January no smoking but I guess not.
  23. A blue room (or green depending on where you are) is the portable toilet you see at festivals, along the side of the road at construction sites, etc... At Smokey Mountain National Park (green rooms) they had them at trail heads.
  24. ladybugpumpkin - you will need to let us know what happens with Ghosh so we can all compare notes!!!
  25. Ditto, you couldn't pay me to sit on a public seat and hubby will ask, if we are out, if a certain place is OK to pee - Wedny's are OUT, forever. Don't even mention Wal-Mart or K-mart unless I am totally completly dieing!!! I too have passed this on to my kids - they have a hard time even pottying at school. Strangely enough, my step-daughter, who has...
