  1. I had the same impression when I heard the story with the inolerance portion. Although, they did say that if you feel better you should definitly stay with the diet but it sounded like a choice and not the actual health issue it is. And at least celiac disease was mentioned.
  2. That is how my gluten intolerance progressed. Actually, all my intolerances progressed and the longer I was off, either the more sensitive I became or the more I noticed small amounts. I am not sure which it is but it sure seems like I am more sensitive.
  3. Often, the coffee creamers just have casein (check the label) which would mean lactose only. A good, easy test is, take lactose pills and eat some dairy, if they help, you can have casein, if not, the elemiate all. My son needs 3 lactose pills to handle dairy so you may need to try multiple amounts to see if it is just the lactose.
  4. Don't forget the fresh fruit.
  5. Ditto to all above. I found a place near Mt. Rushmore with our kitchen, now I need to deal with the Yellowstone and Grand Teton NPs part of our trip. We will be taking our camp stove if I can get us a cabin w/o a kitchen so we can still cook outside.
  6. I haven't had lasagna in years since I haven't figured out a way to replace the cheese. What a great idea, thanks. Maybe I will make two batches, one for me and one for everyone else in my house. Life gets easier and better once you are able to really being to experiment and expand on the foods you can fix with your limited choices.
  7. I also suspect a tapioca intolerance but don't want to give that up, not yet, and the reactions are not too bad yet. I replaced all my flour at home, wondering if there was something bad...because I don't react as bad to the chebe mixes, if I remember not to binge eat because I finally have a bread product! Anyway, I love my egg noodles receipe for my homemade...
  8. Also, all the tuna I have found has some type of soy in it, either with the broth or water.
  9. Check the ingredients for the soy cheese. Soy, rice, almond, hazelnut milks are all OK. I cannot tolerate something in them myself so I use Vance's which is only through mail order but so far, the only one that doesn't make me sick. I liked the hazelnut milk too...
  10. I take calcium pills and have been DF/CF for years. I take one in the AM and one in the PM. Avoid all milk products. Non-dairy cheeses add casein back in so thos should be avoided too. Sorry. You adjust to the lifestyle and it really isn't so bad, once you do and the non-dairy milks work great for cooking and are actually good once you get used...
  11. I react to most corn but can tolerate small amounts like what is in my meds and toothpaste. I am careful with my table salt and only use regular when in public and I found I cannot tolerate most styrfoam products, don't know if that is corn related or not but I tend to put it in that category since most? are coated with corn. I know I react, I just am not...
  12. My first husband loved long hair. I tended to keep my hair longer because of that most of the time, but not all. One time, I came home with a buzz and it didn't seem to faze him but I did let it grow back out. My current husband loves my short hair. Currently, my lady gives me a modified buzz cut, 4, 6, and 7 - my hubby does not like it when I get a...
  13. I find that if I have an accidental glutening, which is very very rare, I have to let the worst of it pass on its own before I take the imodium. After the first round or two, that is when I take my pills. I don't have to do that with my other food sensitivities reactions, just the gluten because of the cramping, sweating, etc. If I take it too soon, I still...
  14. I make my own sausage each weekend, freeze it, then hubby heats it up with the eggs he makes me each morning. Vance's has a non-dairy milk that doesn't bother me but I also try not to overdo it and use it very often so I don't eat cereal anymore. I have always had sleep problems, mostly related to stress, however, I am not having heatflashes,...
  15. Well, here in Indiana it is cold and dreary again and I was so excited earlier this week when it was warm. I am going to have to wear my winter coat again and I thought I was done for the season!!!! I so want it to be warm again.
  16. Everyone's reactions are very different. I have problems with sore joints when my food gets off but I don't know which of my foods are the trigger, I just know that is one of my symptoms and after a couple of months, I realized the sore joints were better. It is also one of the first things that really bothers me when I am eating something I shouldn't and...
  17. I have not been DX with celiac disease so I can't speak to that aspect. However, I have many food intolerances and most of my mom's side of the family does too, which I didn't learn about until after I started to tell everyone my discoveries. It was not known exactly what everyone's problems were before but most of the family knows now what their intolerances...
  18. I am lactose and casein intollerant so I cannot have any dairy products. My youngest son is only lactose intolerant - we did a food test/challenge and the lactose pills helped him, his other problems we have not been able to fully identify because he still eats many lactose containing foods away from home.

    ARCHIVED House

The celiac episode was near the end of season 2 (I am pretty sure, someone can probably give you an exact). As to House as in Hugh Laurie - I LOVE him, he is my type of man, not the sarcastic, manipulative, ass part but the look, the style, man, he can visit for an hour or so any time he wants, then leave. Lucky for me, I have a great husband who is...
  20. I cannot have any soy, including soy lechtin. I use Enjoy Life products but found I reacted to anything they have vanilla (it could be corn based but I have not asked since I can eat their other products, just nothing with vanilla) added to the product. However, just because I react doesn't mean that you will. I can have some corn like my meds all have...
  21. Wow, does this look good. I even sent the link to my sister who can actually afford the shipping - even if I can't. Bummer, and too bad we don't live anywhere near a Whole Foods. Locally owned health food stores only so I will have to ask them. I think even I could eat this without problems!!!! Maybe some day...
  22. I voted no for child because my kids are not gluten intolerant.

    ARCHIVED Hidden Gluten

Another thing, there is soy in plywood so for those of us with soy issues, stay out of the shop or garage when someone is cutting plywood. No more cutting for me, I will have someone else do all that work from now on. We are remodeling our house that was a rental for 7 years so there is a lot of drywall and unwallpapering going on at our place too....
  24. I can't have any peanut product (probably just the leugumes thing too). I like the cashew butter as a nice replacement.
  25. Yes, thanks. We just got one this summer and I haven't had a chance to call them about cooking for me yet. With my dad coming to town this weekend and always eating out and him wanting different places, maybe I will give them a try!!!!
