    My 6 year old son is essentially diagnosed without a scope/biopsy. He had a positive IgA tTG. His gluten challenge didn't go well and we called it quits after three days. There was no way we could continue for three months for a biopsy. Hope your little guy feels better soon!

    You could be a sero negative celiac and had a false negative biopsy. The other side of the coin is that you don't have celiac but are gluten intolerent.     My son was a lot older almost 6 when he was diagnosed. He was born a normal weight and height, 8 lb 8 oz and 21" long, but went down on the growth curve and was maybe 18 lb. at 12 months.     I would consider yourself diagnosed. There are many that have negative blood work and positive biopsy. This is one of the main reasons that I won't have the genetic tests done.     Do you have pets? Some people react to the gluten in pet food. I chose to put my cat and dog on a grain free petfood just to be safe. Knowing what I know now about the benefits of a grain free petfood, I would choose to feed it regardless of me having celiac. My dog and cat are doing so much better on it.

    You also need to have on your lab slip an order for a total IgA. This will validate the other IgA tests. If you are found to be IgA deficient then the IgA test results will be useless. If that happens then ask for the IgG versions of the tests mushroom mentioned. Or have him include them on the origial lab slip and get all of them done at one time.

    Unfortunately biopsies for celiac are not routine on an EGD, unless they are doing it specifically for it. Some day I wish that the minimum of 8 samples would be part of a standard EGD.     It could be a gluten reaction. There are a lot on here that get neuro issues. For me I don't get those kinds of reactions, but I am moody as heck for a good week or more after a gluten exposure. My husband relates it to Dr. Jekyll/Mr. Hyde. I definatly think you are on the right track in discovering that you have a gluten issue.

    Depending on the amount of damage seen on your biopsy, you may indeed not feel better yet. It took years for your villi to become damaged and will take awhile for them to heal.
