  1. Week 2 on Thai Crystal, and it is really growing on me - I don't smell at all! Consider me a true convert!
  2. I know... really helps our cause, doesn't it.
  3. People are going to say ignorant things...that's the way of the world. For the most part, I've found that people who've made ignorant comments to me are well-meaning and really aren't trying to be rude. It just gives me an opportunity to educate them. In many ways, the celiac diagnosis has been a blessing to me (even though sometimes I curse it)...things...
  4. I doesn't say the amounts, but that's the only product of theirs where I've seen that verbiage and a reference to celiac disease. It made me feel more confident in eating them. I haven't have any problems with them, but I'm not a symptomatic as some people, so sometimes it's hard for me to tell if I've been glutened.
  5. It really depends on the location. I went to a Outback in Pineville, NC, and the manager came to my table, asked if I was celiac, then told me she would make my meal herself because she handles celiac customers all the time. The meal was great, and I ate it with no anxiety and without any issues afterward. One thing that's really helped me is to have allergy...
  6. Need to correct what I said earlier...I misread the package: there's no wording about a dedicated facility, but it does say they test for gluten, and it lists contact info for the Celiac Disease Foundation. Just FWIW.
  7. I agree, and I also think it's understandable that we're likely to panic thinking we've been glutened when it very well could be an different cause altogether.
  8. haha! we're all united by celiac AND deo!
  9. The FFL English Muffins say on the package that they are made in a dedicated facility and are tested for gluten. I've been eating them with no issues.
  10. I bought Thai Crystal last week and have been using it for the past few days. I can definitely tell a difference, but still need to reapply. Maybe I need to count to 50.
  11. All Kraft products will have any gluten ingredients listed clearly on their labeling, so it should be pretty easy to figure out with those. You'll just have to read closely. (This includes Oscar Mayer.) Hormel Naturals cold cuts are gluten free and say so on the package. With ice cream, the majority of brands are gluten free except for those with obvious...
  12. Makes me feel better about the M&Ms I occasionally munch on, but not so good news if you're watching the waistline.
  13. Ok, mcphena, you've intrigued me....i'm giving this one a shot.
  14. I agree with you that some store brands are just as good, as I buy them myself. I'm just saying that I'm seeing "may contains wheat" on a lot more of Great Value items that were previously labeled gluten free. I also agree that this would indicate their strict labeling practices, but the "wheat" tag is showing up on some weird stuff now (like their beans...
  15. I've tried Toms, Desert Essence, and Aubrey Organics E Plus High C... they just don't seem to last as long in the warmer months. The best so far that I have tried is the Adidas Cotton-Tech, but it's really hard to find around here. (I'm wondering if they've discontinued it.)
  16. Just wondering if anyone's tried the new Milky Way Simply Caramel. The ingredients seem to look free of the bad stuff...
  17. Have you thoroughly cleaned your kitchen and/or made yourself a desingated area for your gluten-free dishes, cookware, appliances, etc? If you are sharing a toaster that could definitely be the culprit. Toasters are nearly impossible to clean entirely. You need a separate one for your gluten free items. Also, make sure you are using separate utensils for...
  18. well... whatever you do, don't go listen to Party in My Tummy...it will never leave you....it will be stuck in your head like the Barney song. (Although I have to say, having celiac makes it SO much funnier!)
  19. What's sad is that I have no kids, and I know this song. It gets stuck in your head.
  20. In the words of Yo Gabba Gabba: "There's a party in my tummy.. so yummy so yummy yummy!"
  21. Thanks, Patti! Does it work well at controlling odor? It seems like every one I've tried will be ok for about an hour and then it gives out, so I'm constantly reapplying. (Perspiration isn't really an issue for me.)
  22. I'm on a mission to find some aluminum-free deodorant that lasts longer than an hour. Has anyone tried Herbal Clear or know if it's any good? I can't find any contact info for the company online. The only questionable ingredient it has is tocopherol acetate, (which I know is debatable).
  23. I'm no chemist, but I would say you are reacting to something else rather than the adhesive. Maybe you just can't handle cashews.
  24. this website may help: glutenfreedrugs.com
  25. I hate the all of the DQ commercials with the annoying talking lips bragging about all that fried food. The worst one is the when he gets showered in gravy. Ugh, makes me want to hurl!
