  1. I use the cards from Triumph Dining and they are wonderful. They have them made up specifically for 10 different types of cuisines and are in both English and the language of country whose cuisine you're eating. Very helpful for ethnic restaurants! They are also laminated and fit into your wallet or purse. Definitely check into getting them...they save you...
  2. Rudi's is my fave!
  3. Two weird but nice effects of 2+ years of gluten free for me: 1) no more gingivitis 2) I have more "junk in the trunk"...no more saggy jeans
  4. Spam is gluten free too...i have some in my emergency stash. (I also *think* vienna sausages are...I haven't checked on them in a while.) You can also stock up on tuna, canned beans, peanut butter, canned vegetables, Dinty Moore stew, applesauce, fruit cups, gluten free beef jerky, etc. Some of it may not be so good cold (if cooking isn't an option/no...
  5. Lately I've been eating "Planters Harvest 100% natural" almonds. The ingredients simply state "almonds, salt". Planters is a Kraft company, so gluten ingredients will be clearly listed.
  6. It's a pepsi product and therefore gluten free.
  7. Did you see if there's anything on their website? I would also be concerned about gluten cc at an ice cream place, unless they also have stuff in individual pints...
  8. If it was wheat derived it would have to say so in the ingredients. Skittles are gluten free.
  9. How long have you been taking the iron? That will also cause green stools. If you are relatively new to a diet of whole/unprocessed foods, I'm sure that would be having an effect as well, since your body is detoxing. I would also make sure you've ruled out sources of contamination...toasters, shared condiments, lip products, medications... gluten can sneak...
  10. If they are processed on shared lines they could have been contaminated.
  11. glutenfreedrugs.com says that Zyrtec is gluten free. That site is maintained by a pharmacist and is updated regularly. There's a lot of old info floating around cyberspace, so you have to take that into consideration when doing your research.
  12. Purely Decadent tears me up too if I eat the whole pint. I think it's the guar gum, which is known to cause GI distress (to put it mildly). I do ok if I just eat a little bit of the ice cream at a time... I've learned I just have to know when to stop.
  13. I agree with sa1937...take what you find on the internet with a grain of salt (including our forum). Things can get outdated quickly and bad information can be passed on unknowingly. The best bet is always to read labels and call companies if necessary.
  14. I emailed One Bath and Body...the correspondence is below. I'm really impressed with this guy's professionalism and concern for the customer. I've seen the "One" products in Target and Meijer. The lotions smell heavenly! >>>>>>>>>>> Hi, I was just wondering if any of your products are gluten free? I'm particularly interested...
  15. Allegra has just been released as over the counter and was gluten free last time I checked. The site glutenfreedrugs.com has a good list of medications, including one for Walgreens that lists their store brands. Claritin is also gluten free.
  16. I was irritated with Walmart at first about all that, but I don't think this means that they just started adding wheat to stuff, willy-nilly....they are just more stringent with their labeling now. If they are going to be concerned enough to state that their chocolate syrup may contain anchovies (and what is the real likelihood of that unless it's trace amounts...
  17. There is such thing as corn gluten, but it's not something we have to worry about: https://www.celiac.com/articles/186/1/Corn-Gluten---Is-it-Safe-for-a-People-with-Celiac-Disease-Who-are-on-a-Gluten-Free-Diet/Page1.html Cross-contamination is another issue altogether.
  18. Make sure you are reading the ingredients label and not just looking for "gluten free". Also, keep in mind that information on the internet...even this website...may be outdated. If you are in doubt about a product, contacting the company directly is the best bet.
  19. I work for a large national company and the biggest morale booster for us is that the VP of our department allows us to wear jeans everyday of the week during our busy season...which, coincidentally, falls during the winter and lasts for a few months. We love not having to wear business attire when it's 20 degrees outside! Something on that scale may...
  20. My office is kind of on the other end of the spectrum... they try to include me by offering to bring me gluten free stuff. I appreciate it, but it scares me because I don't know how they prepare it. So, I respectfully and thankfully decline their offer, tell them with a smile that I'm really high-maintenance and it isn't worth the trouble...which usually...
  21. That's awesome! I guess the longer I've been doing this, the more I've forgotten how "great" the gluten stuff was and I've adapted my taste buds to certain things. I am hoping one day soon to get a stand mixer, though, so I'm sure I'll end up just as picky once I actually start making my own bread.
  22. I must be one of the oddballs who likes Glutino and Kinnikinnick. I eat a frozen Glutino's pizza as my weekly Friday night treat. Also, one time I made "homemade" pizzas with the kinnikinnick crusts for some gluten-eating friends who came over, and we all loved them. I'm not much of a from-scratch baker, though, and have grown accustomed to eating weird...
  23. Wow... straw wrapper glue is the least of my concerns.
  24. I use their Thoroughly Clean face wash and it works well for my acne prone/sensitive skin. I use their moisturizer and cleansing pads too and have done well with them.
  25. Aren't all Coca Cola products supposedly gluten free?
