  1. Bunny Yay! I can't eat them yet, but my sons will be extremely happy to try them...so thanks to you and Addie - I've been making crepes as substitute flour tortillas - they are alright but am excited too hear of another option! And yes this flipping disease does make us appreciate everything - painless steps are my favorite which is close to a tie with...
  2. Mine improved....gums and teeth...my teeth were never yellow, but did always have not quite bright white coloring...just noticed recently that my teeth are whiter than they were before -- had one tooth chip repaired just before removing gluten four years ago and it no longer matches my brighter whiter teeth. The gum improvement is what I really appreciate...
  3. I still feel great...but there has been a bit of gas -- wow just realizing how little gas has been generated the way i have been eating the past year or so...I don't miss it and I'm sure my honey has not missed it...limiting my little lentil friends to once a week or so
  4. Hang in there Kristen! We are all pulling for you...so sorry to hear how sick the hormone treatment is making you. Prayers continue that this will provide a great result
  5. Sorry Shadow Hope you have a restful night tonight - scary stuff.
  6. For me it was brain fog and all around grumps during my 30s....in my 40s muscles wouldn't work more than a few hours a day so that kinda cut into my social life. I'm making up for it now..have scheduled many walking dates with all my lost friends
  7. So sorry to hear you lost corn again....feel better soon Bartfull!!!
  8. Happy Dance continues this morning -- it is a double legume happy dance...can't believe how happy my red lentils and Irish's white beans have made me Dinner tonight will be more lentils and some meat and some vegies. Haven't had chocolate mousse type substance in awhile -- big batch of that too. and dear sister delivered three pounds of bacon...
  9. Another thought -- the endoscopy only takes biopsy of a very small portion of a very long small intestine. Four months has shown healing - but doesn't necessarily mean complete healing. Was the tTG-IgA the only celiac antibody blood test run? If so, I would get her a full celiac antibody panel even though you have removed gluten. It is important...
  10. Piece of My Heart -- Janis Joplin
  11. Welcome. Have you seen any improvements? Forgive me...how long has she been gluten-free? It is great to hear she has improved villi upon subsequent endoscopy...do you have her pathology reports...starting and subsequent blood results? Hang in there....improvement often comes slow -- and may need other food adjustments -- although it does sound as...
  12. Welcome Jade You ARE NOT crazy...you are likely having multiple symptoms from Celiac. How long since you were diagnosed? How long have you been gluten-free? Hang in there...many doctors don't understand how many of your body's systems Celiac Diseae can impact. How can we help?
  13. I think that sums it up nicely...I am a happy camper on this diet.
  14. NO - you are not a wuss. This disease sucks! Vent at will - any time
  15. Welcome Jamer. I am so very sorry for your loss. What I can tell you is many with undiagosed Celiac Disease have lost all their children and my wish along with every expectation is you will have many healthy children in the future -- not that this helps right now. Hang in there.
  16. I kept losing nut after nut....please check their processing before tossing them out of your diet. Many nuts don't disclose shared lines. Find a safe gluten-free source and try those. Nuts are fantastic food - just be sure before you toss them out of your diet
  17. Zipity Do Da!!!!!!!!!! Yes, I consumed my first legume in 18 months - thus far (3 hours post consumption and I am fine) -- Shroomie you got your ears on? I soaked and rinsed red lentils within an inch of their life for 48 hours -- added bone broth, garlic, ginger and onion for 45 mins -- then added good helping of salt, pepper and cilantro. Dinner...
  18. Earth Crisis -- Steel Pulse
  19. Fire -- Bruce Springsteen
  20. Mine looked, walked and talked like RA with no inflammation markers in my blood. Daughter was diagnosed RA at 13. Son only gets really "hot" knees. Over the past 30 years or more my joint weakness and pain increased -- no doc could figure out and I have a very high threshold of pain so didn't complain as often and loudly as I should have. At my worst...
  21. Another friend with extensive animal experience suggested Lysine treatment for respitory concerns -- as long as Shel is eating and acting otherwise normally - no need for Vet yet. Funny -- she almost tackled me for my salmon jerky yesterday -- she usually asks very nicely for a treat -- salmon would be filled with amino acids - including lysine -- cats...
  22. I too stumbled into eating basically paleo as I found all the foods I am intolerant of - I can't do any seeds and no nuts except almonds so I can't eat many "paleo" recipes without a few substitutions.
  23. Oh wow....now that is in very poor taste. Adding that to our family's - never eat there list!
  24. Does the package say may have been processed on shared equipment with wheat? I have eaten some without this stmt safely - but also got glutened badly one other time that the package did not have a shared facility stmt. Nuts.com has safe nuts if you want to try some you know are gluten free.
  25. My first guess is it is not the almond, rather something in their processing. It is tough to find even raw almonds that are processed on a dedicated gluten free line. Perhaps try some 100% almond butter or raw almonds that you are certain is gluten free. PS.....welcome to the forum
