  1. Welcome! With his symptoms I would insist on a full celiac antibody panel: tTG IgA and IgG EMA IgA DGP IgA and IgG You have already had Total Serum IgA -- what was the range for the test you quoted? Also...more nutrient testing besides iron: B1, B2, B6, B12, D, K, Ferritin, Zinc, Copper Once all the blood is drawn -- I strongly suggest...
  2. You are doing a great job. For me...the weight - it wasn't really "weight" in my case -- the inflammation caused by problematic foods kept me very "heavy" for decades. My final piece of the puzzle was histamine intolerance...but yours may be different. I'm tired...so let me know if you need me to clarify this post. Hang in there
  3. Why did you remove gluten originally? Perhaps your body is too busy processing gluten to worry about dairy.
  4. Welcome! To digest lactose - our bodies need lactase - this enzyme is produced in the small intestine. It is advised that newly diagnosed remove dairy for six months if they notice a problem -- most get dairy back. If there is significant to severe damage of the small intestine prior to diagnosis -- a few more intolerances may come into play until...

  12. Yep...that makes sense and I'm looking forward to hearing how your new gadget works. Spaghetti squash took awhile for me to master - seems like it would be simple - and is now -I buy large quantities when they go on sale and keep in our storeroom that stays cool like a basement or root cellar. Ill post how to cook them when I'm back on my laptop.

  16. Hi Cali! I go to restaurants regularly now (only been vertical for about 5 months) with my husband, family and friends. For now I bring my own because my no-no list is too long -- my hubby and sons are the only ones that can cook for me safely -- FOR NOW. I plan to dine out at well screened gluten-free restaurants within the coming year. With regard...
  17. I too lost avocado - a very sad day - when my stomach bloated to 9month preg looking during an elimination diet - - took me over a year to find out why. Histamine Intolerance. The enzmes needed to regulate histamine in our bodies is manufactured in the mucosal lining of the small intestine. I remain hopeful that I will get histamine containing and histamine...
  18. Here I am!!!! Was headed to a wheelchair (probably should have used one last year- I was just too stubborn to accept it from the doctor). 24. I also believe it is the other way around. I had unexplained weight from the time I was a toddler...never overeating and we lived on a very steep hill...it was a one mile uphill walk from my elementary school that I walked each day from the time I was 5. Three miles on bike to and from school for junior high and about two on bike RT to HS before we started...
  25. We like Bisquick for waffles and Pamela's for pancakes. Haven't tried Better Batter -- interested to see what others post.
