  1. I think you need to clear your cache. I googled "opera nook tablet clear cache" and got simple instructions. If you can't finnd them I can copy them for you when I am on pc rather than cell.
  2. I agree that you should persue getting epi pens immediately. I have tested negative for all food allergies yet my allergy-like reactions to many of my intolerant foods have escalated to anaphylaxis. I was able to obtain epi pens without an appt. I think most docs would rather error on the side of caution in cases of escalating allergic reactions. ...
  3. Hi Angela- I think you should ask for an earlier appt. Not because I think it is an emergency - just think it would be good to start the celiac testing process as early as possible. Stomach and bowel problems or all sort can be an indication of Celiac. Make sure your Ped orders a full celiac panel. I'm on my cell - I'll check back and add specific...
  4. Does he like dried fruit - dried pears, apricots and blueberries are my families favorites for travel.
  5. Sorry the nurse was short with you - very good idea to get the results, but the most important test has already been a "positive" result - you are feeling better without gluten Let us know if you have questions with celiac, thyroid or any others tests - there are members that can interpret any medical tests hopping on all the time.
  6. Welcome! I don't have a problem unless it is very hot - hot baths, not showers can trigger my urticaria. My intolerance of heat/humidity and exercise in weather over 65 has improved at times since I have been gluten-free, but never gone away completely. You will likely see improvement in many symptoms that you either didn't tie to celiac or you simply...

  8. I just read the fine print....teenagers of all ages can participate "You must be 13 or older in order to create an account and participate in We the People."
  9. Celiac Disease Foundation just sent out an email blast and it seems that people are signing -- at time of this post 17,129 have signed - take the time to sign - it can't hurt and may help move things along. It only takes a couple minutes -- Open Original Shared Link
  10. Unfortunately many doctors are not aware that if a person's Total Serum IgA is deficient - there is no way the body to make enough of the antibodies that are measured in the IgA based celiac tests - THUS false negatives on all IgA based tests. Your Dad did have a DGP IgG, but the Total IgA is a very important to confirm any IgA results. For now...
  11. Ditto - on both counts
  12. While I usually say that any celiac research is a positive thing - I stand corrected - what a waste of research time and money. Six in my family - three Spring and three Fall
  13. Skip the vanilla and add a teaspoon of sugar or honey
  14. Pick up some vanilla on your way home and eat cake for dinner? Hope your day improves soon
  15. A negative biopsy is a very, very, very - did I say very? GREAT thing! Good to hear Mindwarp
  16. If possible find a GI that specializes in Celiac Disease within your system so that you can request a particular doctor when you see the new primary. One possible reason for your current symptoms could be Small Intestine Bacteria Overgrowth (SIBO). Might want to read a bit about it before your appt. I wasn't clear if you have had celiac blood work...
  17. Glad it went well
  18. One of my sons has battled sinus issues for about ten years. He has had improvement gluten-free - for him the improvement was very slow. He has been gluten-free for 3 years and still has minor problems, but he has improved a lot! I hope your improvement is speedy, but do give it time.
  19. Friend of mine in North Carolina posted this picture - Frisco Pier has taken some hefty beatings from past storms but looks like this was the last straw - Sandy looks to be living up to all the hype -- stay safe everyone!!! Big enough? Frisco pier this am, supposed to get bigger later. removed photo because it was too big
  20. While I agree that an endoscopy is the best route when there are symptoms along with negative test results, I would add that it would be wise to check with your pediatrician with regard to their view on diagnosis. It is possible to be diagnosed by family history and symptom resolution after removing gluten - it is rare to find a doctor that will diagnose...
  21. Low neurotransmitters is an indication of malabsorption. I believe you need to remove all gluten in order for you to digest/absorb amino acids properly which will increase neurotransmitters - includung serotonin.
  22. Both parents do not have to be carriers of celiac genes. In fact, there are instances of celiac in people with neither of the common celiac genes.
  23. Probably too late to pick them up, but the headlamp flashlights work well as necklace - we find them very irritating to those around us as you are shining light directly in the eyes of anyone you are looking at, but are quite nice around the neck when you don't want to juggle a flashlight.
  24. the smileys should be in the top of the box you are typing in with the other font options...I know there has been problems with iPads and maybe others - let me know if you don't have the link while you are posting and I'll let you know if I find out new settings or something else to remedy when I find out.
