  1. Have you had a recent complete celiac antibody panel or nutrient blood tests? If not, IMO it would be wise to have them run and then remove all gluten for at least three months...longer is better...especially with non-digestive symptoms as the digestive symptoms are often the first to improve while other symptoms can take a very long time to improve....
  2. Try this, she has fantastic Paleo recipes that you may be able to adapt when you and your boyfriend are dining together: Open Original Shared Link One of my favorites is Cauliflower "rice" or "fried-rice" - there are many recipes out there for these.
  3. Welcome, again! This has been discussed before, but never a problem to remind folks that simply because any restaurant has items made without gluten ingredients it does not mean those items are safe for those with Celiac Disease.
  4. You can't be both Paleo and Vegetarian as Paleo removes grains, legumes, dairy. I think that leaves nuts and quinoa for protein sources - quinoa is not a grain, but some folks can't tolerate it due to the very high quantity of lectin. You can be gluten-free and vegetarian or gluten-free and paleo, but don't see how you can be all three. That being...
  5. Should be interesting to see if there are discussions with a mix of these folks or simply each participant presenting their take.
  6. Thanks for the update Foam I've known about Histamine Intolerance for nearly a year and was improving after removing histamine containing and inducing foods along with taking Allegra twice per day and Benedryl as needed to prevent anaphylaxis. Unfortunately, I have never been able to add any foods back and my environmental triggers increased. In August...
  7. So glad you had a wonderful day! Thanks for sharing
  8. Regardless of results, removing all gluten once testing is complete is a good idea as many more folks are gluten intolerant rather than celiac. That being said...with your daughter's symptoms she too should have a complete celiac antibody panel and nutrient testing before removing all gluten as once you remove gluten you lose giving the tests the best...
  9. You should not remove gluten before all celiac testing is complete - which includes endoscopy. How long have you been gluten-free? Do you know if you had a complete celiac antibody panel? Any nutrient testing? An endoscopy is usually the next step after positive (even weak) antibody test.
  10. I'd do two things: 1) Request a written copy of both procedural and pathology reports from the endoscopy. 2) Request a call from the doctor or an appt to speak to the doctor to explain the information without the nurse as a go-between.
  11. Great to hear you were diagnosed and now have some answers. I do hope you'll find the correct combination of medication and diet for improved health. I am curious how you were diagnosed? Which blood and urine tests? Bone marrow biopsy? Which discipline of doctor? ....as mast cell degranulation is an issue for me, but I have yet to obtain a diagnosis from...
  12. This is an old thread, but just checked Swanson Vitamin's gluten policy so I thought I would update this thread as they still do not assure their supplements are gluten free although they do sell other brands that are gluten free --- also thought it a bit funny that they referred me back to celiac.com to check safe ingredients From: <customercare...
  13. Hi Callie...can you post the brand and name of mascara you mention here? This is an old thread, but we should make it clear for those that are reading along or find it during a search regarding mascara. Thanks
  14. Welcome! No, it would not be possible for 4 positive antibody tests along with an endoscopic biopsy to all be incorrect. That your son has gained weight is confirmation of improvement on the gluten-free diet even if all his symptoms have not yet resolved. I think what this GI is saying is these other unresolved symptoms are not related to celiac...
  15. Welcome Marion! You should call your doctor's office to report this. Seizures can be serious and should be addressed by your doctors. Hang in there
  16. I'd imagine things will be much quieter out there now we've been using Gu for a long time...got a lot of Clif Shot freebies during bike races...bummed they are not safe...more bummed that Gu doesn't have the great little package with the leash for when you have torn it open.
  17. We like Canyon Bakehouse best, but do eat mostly Udi's and Glutino Genius based on cost. Toasting does improve - especially Udi's - and all make excellent grilled cheese
  18. Welcome KCG! You have had excellent advice...just wanted to say be sure to listen to your body while you heal. Once you have some time under your belt, there is no reason you will not be able to complete anything you set your mind on and likely feel very strong while doing so We use Gu Gels: Gu = Gluten Free Cliff Shots and Bars ARE NOT...
  19. Welcome Emme! With your history you could have Celiac Disease. I would make sure you have your docs run a full Celiac Antibody Panel -- You had what are commonly used as screening tests by many doctors. Total Serum IgA (you had this) EMA-IgA tTG - Both IgA and IgG (you had the IgA) DGP - Both IgA and IgG Celiac Disease can prevent absorption...
  20. Welcome! I've moved your post to it's own thread so that more folks can respond.

    ARCHIVED Thank You

Happy Birthday!!! Very glad to hear you are on the mend
  22. Yes, it is possible to have positive blood, negative biopsy OR negative blood, positive biopsy OR both positive. Complete Celiac Antibody Tests: Total Serum IgA tTG - both IgA and IgG EMA - IgA DGP - both Iga and IgG Additionally, you should have the following nutrient testing as Celiac Disease prevents absorption of nutrients: B6, B...
