  2. Hey Addie...hoping your tummy is all better in the morning -- if not hope it is a very short lived little bug.
  3. Ditto PS...Welcome BZBee!!!
  4. I agree with Nicole-- Her numbers will have likely improved, but may take 6 months to a year to drop all into normal range. Symptom improvement is most important. Make sure they run DGP - both IgA and IgG as these are the first to rise with accidental gluten ingestion and are often the first to fall with removal of all gluten. Whatever the numbers...
  5. Down -- Blink 182
  6. Good Morning Dinner Peeps! Yes, I am back and feeling great this morning -- this week really was tough -- still have no idea what caused the anaphylactic crisis -- part of me suspects a combo of environmental and food -- was the freshly baked chicken to blame? tossed the left overs just in case. Was the extremely high pollen count last Sunday or the...
  7. Had any doctor thought to test me for celiac disease at any time in my first 43 years I would have likely tested negative - when finally diagnosed all of my antibodies were positive - yet weakly in most cases. All of my children and grands tested sero-neg with the exception of oldest that only had one positive DGP. I don't care what we call it - gluten...
  8. Grumpy Girl checking in -- I'll be having freshly made almond butter with huckleberry honey on top -- tomorrow is another day PS>>>way to go Robotics - both ladies and gents alike!!!
  9. Band On The Run -- Paul McCartney and Wings
  10. Let's see...no - "vacaation was great, but glad to be home"....that seals the deal pretty well -- the move is the right thing for you Still a bit tired here from my shenanigans on Easter -- getting what I need done, but it is warming up and I have the opposite problem -- can't tolerate the heat and pollen --- goodness - this has been a rough month 'round...
  11. The Impossible Dream -- Frank Sinatra
  12. Oh Colleen - was wondering where you have been - I've had those same neuro symptoms and is beyond difficult to be possitive while they are happening - so for now we will carry your hope for you until you are ready to pick it back up. I framed your beautiful Christmas card and will send loving healing thoughts each time I pass it.
  13. In my opinion - this is your call. For me - there is no amount of money that will make me regularly consume gluten - hmmm - perhaps there is a figure - but I think it would involve three or more decimal places Edited to add: Unsafe gets my vote.
  14. For years pre-diagnosis -- the only way I could describe the crazy temperature fluctuations I felt was that I had a broken thermostat -- I'm tired now -- but will re-read your post and try to give a more detailed answer in the morning.
  15. Thanks K and Prickly Finally feeling strong tonight...crazy how allergies can knock the stuffing right out of you. Edited to add Shadow -- thank you too!
  16. Praying for your surgeon's hands to bring healing -- and had to post so you could see I finally took a photo of my blue toes! PS...Shelby is sporting a pink ribbon in honor of Kristen along with the green striped (my favorite color) -- but the pink got cropped in the profile pic thingy
  17. Completely agree...I like boring...bring it on - soon - please interesting aside....got a call from the ER nurse tonight to see how I was doing -- thinking maybe the ER doc instigated -- kinda cool -- I did have a lot of special attention the other night....warms this old heart that got dismissed by so many docs over the years.
  18. Thank you Mw Since you have eliminated so many foods you may become more sensitive when you add them back -- this is what happened to me -- glad you already have epi pens should reactions worsen -- I hope they don't - but it is good to be prepared! Off to take an exam that I'm not as prepared for as I'd like -- mind a bit fuzzy since Easter -- but...
  19. Thanks Paul! Yep...I know exactly what I ate - only safe stuff - spaghetti squash, carrots, baked chicken. I tossed the leftover chicken, but really don't think it could have been that -- hubby suspects I breathed something in which triggered, but have no idea if that could happened or if it is even possible -- it is very frustrating to not be able to...
  20. Thanks Stephanie -- I do understand that intolerances can not be determined by blood and scratch test -- this is why I wrote my post as many doctors have dismissed my intolerances in the past -- should others have escalating reactions to food - carry epi pens. As I understand it -- it is possible to develop testable allergies as a person is exposed to...
  21. So...for the past 16 months I have been wondering if I'd ever have to put the stinking epi-pens we carry everywhere since my first anaphylactic type reaction to sunflower seeds back in November 2011 to use - hoped I never would, but better safe than sorry. On Easter afternoon I was feeling great - happily cooking and baking up a storm for the family ...
  22. Good Morning Dinner Pals...."Bubble Girl" checking in. So...for the past 16 months I have been wondering if I'd ever have to put the stinking epi-pens we carry everywhere since my first anaphylactic reaction to sunflower seeds back in November 2011 to use - hoped I never would, but better safe than sorry. On Easter afternoon I was feeling great -...
  23. It is important to be tested before removing gluten - once gluten is removed you are no longer producing the antibodies in reaction to gluten ingestion. Celiac blood tests measure these antibodies - no gluten - no antibodies to measure. That said - sometimes people will test possitive for a short time after removing gluten - you just need to understand...
  24. Welcome Pam! Unfortunately it is not uncommon to go undiagnosed with Celiac Disease -- I was diagnosed at 43 after decades of symptoms dismissed as something else. Yes, understanding gluten cross contamination is extremely important in Celiac Disease -- it is also possible your child has Celiac and not Non Celiac Gluten Intolerance -- many children...
