  1. side note, for some celiac people corn causes many problems.. One reason is corn is CC a lot & we tend to go overboard on corn as a replacement for wheat....I would look at non gmo corn snacks....A little corn chips is okay but don't go overboard....There are some tasty gluten-free pretzels, also kale chips...
  2. digestive enzymes ie: We use digest gold! It breaks down the carbs, proteins & starches in the food you eat helping the gut handle the food so as not to cause a lot of issues... Think of probiotics as the gentle warriors who provide the gut with friendly flora...... you need both........
  3. If that is all your eating then you are not getting a balanced diet.....And your body is fighting back .......You need to eat a clean healthy diet ie: grass fed beef, wild caught fish, organic chicken, veggies steamed ( raw is harder to digest) & some fruits.... and yes a few healthy snacks so you don't feel food...
  4. Did they buy the gluten-free part of the business too? I may have missed that as I just skimmed the article. But like Udi's one part was sold off but Udi's gluten-free remains the same...
  5. Thanks for sharing because this will help newbies truly understand that when us well seasoned celiac people say it will get better it actually does with a lot of training & learning on the newbie's end.... Glad you found the path to a healthy happy future.....
  6. some of the original pancake house's have gluten-free pancakes.... We go to one in NY that does a great job. We have been to others & the gluten-free pancakes are terrible...and then most of them do NOT do gluten-free.....
  7. Gums really are not healthy for us but , Some of the new bakers of gluten-free are becoming more aware of healthy nutrition & are starting to bake without gums, loads of sugar & tons of starches....so it is moving in the right direction....xanthan gum is derived from corn so if one has a corn allergy guar gum would...
  8. At some of the better places the scrambled egg patty was okay at others no ... You must speak to the kitchen server each time... And yes to going in first thing in the morning before loads of people get their food as then it may become hectic....And also yes, I've had them get me potatoes, eggs before they brought them...
  9. IF you are looking for a great kooler of total freezer type for your auto, go to an off road store ... We just bought a ARB for traveling.. We have a larger one called a coolmatic.. Remember the less amps they use the easier they work in an auto.....Do your homework.. The type I speak of are more expensive but lasts for years...
  10. I too vote not to use it....when I travel & places have a breakfast for free, I usually take my own cereal, bread, muffin , a toasta bag & use their milk, bowls & use the toaster after a quick check to see if it is fairly clean. Some places never shake out of the crumbs from the catch drawer other clean it out daily...
  11. another place to look would be a restaurant supply store.. Also if you know of a fast food place that uses the brand you enjoy go to the manager & they will sell you a dozen or so... I buy a gluten-free salad dressing in packets at our local fast food for 25 cents a piece to carry while traveling.......
  12. Real salt for me too...
  13. You know the drill it will get better! Some people heal faster than others some have more damage & heal more slowly so honestly no rule of thumb here.. It is just letting the body take care of its own ...... You can help by eating healthy , non processed foods maybe also take out all dairy for a few months as well.....
  14. xanthan gum is from corn..... I believe guar gum would be a better choice if you have a corn allergy...
  15. about ten years ago I was new about a year into a celiac dx's.. I bought rice flour from an Asian place because it was so cheap.... 19. Yes, I get this done yearly, I do both tests.. One checks on heart function & the other for body inflammation... Mine run high for inflammation....I'm not a doctor but I was told the high sensitive one is for heart but I never researched it as mine was fine but the regular Crp is always on the high side...
  20. I got my last ones on the A Store... Open Original Shared Link it's been a few months as I buy extras....300 uses two bags. 100 uses two bags for $7.99 from Planit Products LLC. Georgia....I actually got these at a Boscov's.....
  21. We have used these bags for years & never had cc... We do wash them... the best bags are the gold or black ones.. The bags have different amounts of how many times they safely can be used.... I buy ones that have 100 to 300 uses so they last a good while...There are some that are cheap 5 bucks for2 but they are...

  23. Our local Longhorn cooks a gluten-free steak on foil & that is the way it comes to the table, wrapped in foil, no seasonings at all not even salt or pepper... It is truly naked ...... honestly I like other steak places better but Longhorn seems to be highly rated but I don't see it...We have never been glutened at our...
  24. I had several TIA's thirty years ago plus lifelong migraines but didn't get dx'd with celiac until 2003....
