ARCHIVED Boston Pizza Is Now gluten-free!
RideAllWays replied to Yup's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
I ate there yesterday, it was fantastic!!! The staff was awesome, my waitress read all of the ingredients on their meats and told me which ones contained gluten fillers, and she assured me that the pizza would be cooked on parchment paper and cut with a clean knife, etc. I was initially worried about how the make the dough since they make their poison dough... -

That's so exciting! Any idea on how the CC factor plays in? -
ARCHIVED Anyone Done An Elimination Diet?
RideAllWays replied to Luvbeingamommy's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
The one my allergy doctor put me on was rice, plain turkey, potatoes, spinach, and canned peaches. I ate that for two weeks, then did three day trial periods of different groups. Some examples were dairy products, citrus fruits, vegetables, wheat products (leave this one out!), corn and other grains (If you react you'll have to break it down further), poultry... -
ARCHIVED So What Exactly Is 'normal'?
RideAllWays replied to concernedmamma's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
I really like almond milk, and if he wont drink the regular you could try vanilla flavoured. -
I've heard the same thing about the patties being taken off of the buns, but I mentioned it on here once and was told I was wrong haha. Chili is on their gluten-free list but it does say may contain wheat. I personally don't eat it but I have a Celiac friend (who does not react as badly as I do) and she eats it all the time. I've had it twice and felt...

I keep a glass of water by my bed to take my pills and it was almost empty last night and I was almost asleep so I didn't go get more.. I felt like my pill had gotten stuck but figured it would dissolve on its own, but then I woke up at 430 with quite a bit of pain in my throat and it's just getting worse. I've tried drinking carbonated and hot beverages...

ARCHIVED 711 Slurpees
RideAllWays replied to kareng's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I just saw a post about the 'ChaCha' (?) phone number you can text and it tells you answers...anyways it said that 711 slurpees were gluten free. I'll try and find the post again to see the exact wording! -

ARCHIVED Somebody Stop Me...
RideAllWays replied to RideAllWays's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I just want to make it clear, because I was not in a fantastic mood or state of mine when I was writing my original post... This is NOT just over a craving. My thought process is a little deeper than that. I love to cook, and I've learned how to make everything I want gluten free. That is not a problem. -
ARCHIVED Somebody Stop Me...
RideAllWays replied to RideAllWays's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Well, I'm glad to hear I'm not alone in this thought process, but I'm sorry lots of you have done it and felt horrible. I've decided to wait. I will continue to eat very basic foods, get enough sleep, exercise, etc..and if I'm still feeling terrible I may try to introduce it. I guess I am just worried something else may be going on. -
ARCHIVED Somebody Stop Me...
RideAllWays replied to RideAllWays's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Thanks guys. I just wanted to know if anybody else out there doubted their diagnosis. Obviously if I had had a for sure "your villi are damaged" diagnosis I wouldn't be considering it. An allergy doctor "diagnosed" me, so I was gluten free for 6 months before my endoscopy. I was more wondering should I try it and see, because if I am going through all... -
I really want to eat a gluten product. I have been doubting my diagnosis for a while..and I can never tell if when I am sick it is because of gluten or not. I keep a food diary and eat pretty basic foods, and I can never track a reaction back to anything that should bother me. I live in a gluten free house. I rarely eat out, and only at one place that...

ARCHIVED Anyone Else With Vocal Problems?
RideAllWays replied to teemaree's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
I was a low alto with a weak upper range before my diagnosis. I could always hit high notes but they were raspy. After a year being gluten free I am now a strong soprano, my range has increased by nine notes in the past year (I could hit them before but now I can SING them, if you know what I mean).. I never even thought of it being related. -
ARCHIVED Anyone In Florida?
RideAllWays replied to simplyconfused's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff

ARCHIVED Teens/anyone From Quebec Canada?
RideAllWays replied to poiuyanthony's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
Not from Quebec, always wanted to live there. Nice to see some younger people on here, I like hearing how other teens deal with this. I'm from BC. -
ARCHIVED Confused About Nuts
RideAllWays replied to Skylark's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I do agree that it is most likely a myth that the lines are dusted, but I do have a hard time finding packaged nuts where the package doesn't read "may contain wheat" and I never eat out of the bulk bins..which nuts do you eat? -
ARCHIVED What's The Scoop On Maltodextrin?
RideAllWays replied to BigDogz's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I've heard that in Canada and the US it is always corn if not otherwise stated. I'm still hesitant to eat anything with maltodextrin in it if it isn't clearly labeled though, but I might just be paranoid..I'm interested to see other replies. -
ARCHIVED Does Anyone Experience Itching?
RideAllWays replied to Eliza82's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
I get that too! I thought I was crazy...and it's so frustrating because you can't scratch your insides. -
ARCHIVED Confused About Nuts
RideAllWays replied to Skylark's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I have a hard time finding packaged nuts sometimes that don't say "may contain wheat", but I don't know about them dusting the lines. -
ARCHIVED Do Your Celiac Children...
RideAllWays replied to SLB5757's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
I did as a child as well -
Your best friend has Celiac! That's so lucky to have somebody so close to you understand completely what you are going through. You guys can probably help each other out a ton. If it's affordable, I would totally go for moving in together. When I moved into my own gluten free kitchen it made a big difference

ARCHIVED Privacy And Your Feelings About It?
RideAllWays replied to seezee's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
I don't flaunt it, but once I am offered food and I mention that I cannot have anything with gluten in it the questions just keep on coming. I look at it as a way to educate as many people as I can (without preaching!). A lot of my friends are really really good about it and even understand CC quite well. The more the people you are surrounded with understand... -
ARCHIVED Newly Gluten Free And Need Some Tips
RideAllWays replied to sfsassy's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
I've been dairy free for 7 years(ish) and now after one year gluten free I am able to tolerate little bits of dairy here and there, like in chocolate. I'm scared to fully try a real milk product but I'm thinking of doing it soon just to see.. I assume it will be a different time frame for anybody and some people may not outgrow the intolerances as they heal... -
ARCHIVED Hawkin's Cheezies
RideAllWays posted a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I used to love these cheezies. The ingredients look completely fine to me, does anybody have any experience eating these? They are delicious and I'd be so happy if I could have them again! -
When I was first diagnosed with Celiac disease a year ago I weighed 95 pounds, which sounds low but I am only 5' tall. I was a bit underweight then but not noticeable skinny really..then I gained back to my normal 100-105 range where I feel the most comfortable. I find that I fluctuate a lot between 105-115 and when the scale hits over 115 I get really...
