ARCHIVED My Youngest Son Is Not Coping At All Now
txplowgirl replied to Karl Otto's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Hi Karl, I think, i'm not for sure, that maybe you have misunderstood something? Corn, green beans, potatoes, plain brown rice, plain hamburger meat, plain chicken, these do not have gluten in them nor or they high in sugar. Plus you can mash them up for you to eat. I am so sorry that the 2 of you are having such problems. I hope you can resolve these issues... -
ARCHIVED What Causes The Hypersensitivity?
txplowgirl replied to color-me-confused's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Once you go gluten free, you stop making the antibodies to gluten, therefore when you get glutened you make more antibodies and they attack your system. You could have had a lot of cross contamination if there were a lot of people in your home who weren't gluten free and then again it could just be your gut healing which you will have good and bad days, but... -

Plain hamburger and rice, baked potatoes, ore ida fries, scrambled eggs, butterball turkey bacon, apples, bananas, gluten free chex cereals. On the cerals, make a big deal that you're giving him his regular cereal. But it dosen't have to be gluten free processed foods. I am sure if you put something like that in front of him sooner or later he'll get hungry... -
ARCHIVED How Careful Do I Need To Be?
txplowgirl replied to rdunbar's topic in Dermatitis Herpetiformis
Hi Rdunbar, I don't know anyone that sensitive who has to wear a mask in public but if you're curious why don't you give it a trial run and see what happens? I, myself have to wear gloves when I made my sweetie his sandwiches or my hands would turn red and itch like crazy and I would get the D within 24 hours if i didn't, so I don't see the harm in trying... -
ARCHIVED 2 Weeks Gluten Free..
txplowgirl replied to asickdaddy's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Sickdaddy, are you eating a lot of gluten free processed foods? If so, that can cause some of the problems you are mentioning or it could be withdrawal symptoms. Depression, no motivation, not wanting to eat, that is part of the withdrawals. You do not have to have a dr's permission to eat gluten free. You know you are on the right track so keep at it and... -
Whenever I drink a glass, it dosen't hit me until the next day. Sometimes I get the D, and bloating, or stomach aches or rumbles and I get depression really bad that lasts for 2 to 3 days. Maybe 1 day i'll be able to drink it but not yet. All I can say is try it and see what happens.

txplowgirl replied to Meg123's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
Hi Meg, I wouldn't be surprised. I had an aunt (my mother's sister)pass away last year due to esophageal cancer. Cancer runs really bad on both sides of my family. ARCHIVED Looking To Meet People Who Have Been Bed Ridden From Celiac
txplowgirl replied to MissBonnie's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
Hi MissBonnie, I never got to the point where I was bedridden but it came close. There for a year I couldn't work, my pain levels and fatigue were between 8 and 9 most of the time. Not good at all. I had to quit not only the gluten but dairy, soy and the nightshade vegetables as well. Nightshades have a toxin in them that causes joint and muscle pain as... -
ARCHIVED Opinions On L Glutamine?
txplowgirl replied to MissBonnie's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
I started out with the tablets then one day I ran out and went to get some more and all they had was the powder. I think I like the powder better. It hits faster and relieves my symptoms faster. You can mix with water or whatever beverage you like to drink. -

Hi Roda, that's just it I turn 47 the 27th. Getting him to do anything is like pulling hen's teeth. Ughh, i've decided to change dr's and I have an appointment with an endo on the 17th next month, so we'll see what happens. -
About a week and a half ago I had the good fortune to run into several lady drs who were in town for a womens health conference on OB/GYN problems. I struck up a conversation with them and they actually talked to me. I explained to them about some of my problems that I am still having problems with and they all agreed that it sounded like hormone problems...

ARCHIVED Ways Of Coping With Glutening....
txplowgirl replied to glutenfreeinminnesota's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I have recently discovered something called K2 incense, you find it at a head shop, where they sell bongs and other things like that. You smoke it like the other, it is just herbs not the real stuff. I almost forgot, it does have something called synthetic cannabis. It dosen't show up in a blood test, but it is illegal in some states. You need to check to... -

ARCHIVED Typical Time?
txplowgirl replied to Jeff In San Diego's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I felt somewhat better after 2 months but it wasn't until I took everything else out that I really started feeling better, so, for me that took about a year. Here it is a little than 2 more years into it and i'm still not 100% but I went from feeling like I was dying to somewhat normal. My pain levels have gone from a 9 1/2 down to about 2 to 3 and my fatigue... -

txplowgirl replied to sillyactsue's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
There are times my right ankle feels like it's trying to freeze up or turn into wood and when I go back over my list of things I ate I always manage to see that it has something to do with dairy every time. -
ARCHIVED Ok, Not To Be A Total Skeptic...
txplowgirl replied to HS7474's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I kept thinking the same thing until I realized one day that my skillet had scratches in them. You can't cook the gluten out of the scratches. Once I chucked my skillet and got a cheap skillet from the dollar store and a new spatula I finally started feeling a lot better. Let's hope you don't get as sensitive as I am and react to a contaminated refrigerator... -
ARCHIVED I Let Dh Talk Me Into Something Dumb
txplowgirl replied to Poppi's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
Hi Poppi, you need to kick this in the bud now, Because he talked you into this he will keep doing it. You need to refuse firmly any time he does this or he will keep doing it. My ex kept doing this to me. He kept telling me that just because it might make me feel a little uncomfortable dosen't mean I couldn't eat it. UUuuuuuhhh. He just would not understand... -
