txplowgirl replied to runningdoe's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
Hi Runningdoe, welcome to the forums. keep in mind that even though her blood test was positive prepare for the biopsy to possibly negative. A lot of Celiacs have been told that they are not celaic because the dr can biopsy in the wrong spot by not taking the sample or samples in the right spot. Even if it is negative take her gluten free immediately and... -

ARCHIVED Men Can Be So Childish
txplowgirl replied to txplowgirl's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
I called her this morning and asked her if she did that intentionally. She was shocked you could hear it in her voice. He did that without her knowing. I feel sorry for her because she thought that he really cared for her to find out that he used her. Needless to say she's gone. He called really ticked off at me because SHE left. I told him that's what he... -
What's on my mind right now? Shooting a certain person in a certain spot! A lot of you know my story about the old goat and I. We split up a few weeks ago and he calls me tonight from a motel room with a woman he's known for awhile and they're in the middle of you know what! He's getting back at me for leaving him (I couldn't put up with his controlling ways...

ARCHIVED Is My Tupperware Okay?
txplowgirl replied to WinterSong's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Hi JessicaNYC, sorry to say I tried to use my tupperware and after the third time having a reaction I chunked them and got some new ones. -
Hi K8ling, sorry to say I have reacted to the waffles and granola bar and it could also be a reaction to the little ones cookie. You may have gotten a triple whammy. I hope you get to feeling better.

ARCHIVED 2.5 Year Old Is "spaced Out"
txplowgirl replied to MadScientistSA's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
That is what is known as a gluten siezure, aka gluten ataxia. I have had those since I was 8. My parents always accused me of daydreaming or not paying attention. It was really hard sometimes in school. They finally went away after I was gluten free for 6 months but I had to totally remove not only gluten but dairy and soy too. -
Stomach pain, gurgles, sometimes gas and D, sinus pressure, but the worse of all is 2 to 3 days of irritability, where I snap at anyone over the least little thing plus depressionn and cry over the least little thing. That can be from just trace amounts in anything. I have to be hypervigilant, almost more so than with the gluten.

ARCHIVED Something Is Wrong, But The Test Was Negative!
txplowgirl replied to iLoveAMM's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
iloveAMM, Hey there, it sounds alot like it plus Fibromyalgia. Find you a Rhumatologist if you can because they are the ones who usually diagnose Fibro. Or just go gluten free. I've had this since I was 8. Major mental trauma is what started for me. I had almost if not the same symptoms as you. I went gluten free 2 years ago and I am way better, I don... -
ARCHIVED Low Dose Naltrexone
txplowgirl replied to kimis's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
It is prescribed for Fibromyalgia patients also. I have been trying to stay off the precriptions trying to keep my fibro and Rhumatoid arthritis under control with my gluten free diet. But I think next time I go in i'm gonna ask for it for my Chronic fatigue, I understand that it helps with that too. I finally had to break down and get a prescription for... -
ARCHIVED Has Anyone Else Experienced This?
txplowgirl replied to happytobeGF's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Hi Happytobegf, I've always been heavy even as a kid, I had so many issues like yours plus a lot more. I was always hungry but couldn't eat lot, Everybody said I ate like a bird. But since i've been gluten-free I eat way more than I use to but i've lost 45 lbs and I very rarely get hungry now, isn't that backwards or what? Lol -
I just have it on my scalp. That's the only place it has shown up. I've had it for the last 20 years and nothing would make it go away until I went gluten free and then I changed my shampoo and changed from iodine salt to sea salt. I was gluten free for almost 2 months when it slowly started going away then 2 weeks after I changed my shampoo it was gone....

txplowgirl replied to imsohungry's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
I agree with Raven, I think you need to be gluten free. It sounds as if you have at the very least an intolerance. I have never heard of a false positive test. I would start your gluten free diet today. -
ARCHIVED Suggestions For A Complicated Diet
txplowgirl replied to num1habsfan's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
Are you eating any gluten free packaged foods? Are you eating anything with soy? Do you have a totally gluten free home or is there gluten still in your house. Just some questions I was wondering about. Soy will keep your system messed up. You could still be getting glutened from trace amounts of gluten in the gluten free foods which are higher in sugars... -
ARCHIVED "glutened" Symptoms - When Did They Start?
txplowgirl replied to Katrala's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I've been gluten-free for 2 years now. There were times in the begining I belive I was gluten-free for about 4 months and I got vomiting and the big D within 15 minutes and it lasted a few hours. Now a days it can take up to a couple of days to feel the total effects and a glutening has lasted up to 3 weeks. Three of the most awful weeks I have ever had.... -

I've never seen that but I'm here in the US, it might be here but i've never seen it. I was wondering. Does it have soy in it? I'm assuming that's the Soya in the label. Soy can make you feel like you've been glutened. Just saying. I hope you get to feeling better. -
I thought that this info might be of use to someone who has been having other issues that they can't quite pinpoint. The nightshades will make me sick from joint and muscle pain to nausea and vomiting. Read the section on what it can do to the nervous system. I bet that will surprise you. What are nightshades and in which foods are they found? Overview...

ARCHIVED Nettle Recipes!
txplowgirl replied to Jestgar's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
Not only nettles, but I grew up on poke salad, dandelion greens and clover, also known as lamb's quarters. Rinse, then bring to a boil, then rinse again, bring to a boil again and then rinse again then add your butter and whatever seasonings you would like. Always boil and rinse twice because it has toxins in them that can make you sick if not boiled twice... -
