  1. I don't think the study or the quote below were meant to mean that you should go out and consume gluten up to a certain level on purpose. I think it was meant to re-assure people that a tiny inadvertent amount won't bother most Celiacs. Because we might be getting a tiny amount at any time, we shouldn't go out looking for trouble by consuming things with...
  2. I would eat the cake! Sounds like you are going above and beyond.
  3. I don't know where they get that either. I think it's just their experience. I think I am less sensitive, too. To me, that makes more sense. I find that people that on a forum like this are either new or still having problems. There are a few exceptions, like me. But most Celiacs that are doing well, don't post on these forums. So I think we see people...
  4. My baby graduated from HS this year, too. I wish mine was "organizing himself for his big move to university residence ". He will likely just start throwing stuff into his car the night before he leaves and forget important things that I will have to mail him at $20 a time.
  5. Every year, wrens make nests on out screen porch. They come in the doggy door screen flap. I think they were born here so they make a nest here. We have had 2 nests this year. The first was pretty painless for us. 1 baby, came out of the nest ready to go. This one - made a nest in A hanging flower ( it's trashed now), 5 eggs - 4 nice ones and 1 small...
  6. I did wonder about that too. If she isn't eating gluten free, then that could be the cause. I gave her the benefit of the doubt and figured she was gluten-free and having these awful problems.
  7. It's so painful watching your babies leave the nest and learn to fly!
  8. I saw that and thought... Well, I would have said the same. It would scare the hell out of me to be suffering stroke or epilepsy symptoms. The last place I would be going is a chiropracter! And honestly, I wouldn't be waiting months and calmly typing on a forum asking for advice! Get yourself to a real docotor! Maybe even an Emergency room when the...
  9. I am not sure that is actually true, but, I don't have a problem with candida, so I will drink wine if I like. I haven't seen any evidence that Candida causes us to mount the same immune system reaction as gluten does. Open Original Shared Link Once again.... If you think you have a problem with a food, for whatever reason, don't eat or drink it...
  10. I guess some of us are talking about good or " real " wine from actual vineyards. The kind of places we have visited that take pride in their wines. That fruity stuff for $3 or less a bottle - who knows what's in it. But.... If a drink bothers you....don't drink it - whether a its Pepsi, OJ, coffee, milk or wine..... Open Original Shared Link
  11. Thanks. It sounds perfect for me for taking a sandwich to the baseball game or that type of thing. I have those flat vapor bottles. They make great ice packs. I love these lunch bags because the whole bag goes in the freezer and has freezer gel in it. But they are a bit heavy to lug around all day just for a sandwich. I have seen these at different...
  12. I am sorry he didn't believe you but glad he listened to someone.
  13. Open Original Shared Link "There is not yet reliable data about cross-reactivity. As for the alleged possibility that many gluten-free foods or drinks (such as coffee, milk, orange juice, etc.) would trigger symptoms in celiac individuals due to hidden antigens mimicking gluten or cross-reacting with anti-gluten antibodies, it must be clearly stated that...
  14. Welcome. Just an FYI, if you want to have the endoscopy, you are supposed to continue to eat gluten until all testing is done. Once you are healed, you may be able to eat dairy again! That's the good news.
  15. Ooh! I want one for my lunch box collection! This is perfect for adults eating at their desk or on their lap in the car. I'm not finding a size. About how big are they?
  16. Here is the link to your same topic from 2 years ago. Maybe there is some info there for people reading along.... https://www.celiac.com/forums/topic/96635-cushings-disease-or-buffalo-hump/#entry823920
  17. Digestive enzymes are produced in several locations in the body to help us break our food down into nutrients. Because some are made in the small intestine, a Celiac's damaged small intestine might not make enough of them. Probiotics put good bacteria back Into the digestive system. Lots of things can kill the good bacteria off or allow the bad to flourish...
  18. I didn't feel they helped me. I think they made my stomach hurt more. Maybe you don't need them?
  19. Looks like they still have the "may contain" statement. Still says this on their website: Open Original Shared Link lease check the ingredient statement carefully on every bag purchased. All of the BROOKSIDE items contain Milk and Soya (from Soy Lecithin). Our items may contain Peanuts, Wheat, Almonds, Cashews, Macadamia Nuts, Pecans, Hazelnuts,...
  20. Maybe in the year since this was discussed, they have changed manufacturing practices? Or just decided not to mention it on the bag?
  21. Sure. Sorry. I thought you might have a serious problem but it sounds like you are fine. Great!
  22. I see you posted about this 2 years ago. What did the doctor say at that time? What treatment were you put on? It looks like a doctor can help you. It must have gotten worse in 2 years?
  23. See a doctor? Not sure how you can diagnose this yourself. Open Original Shared Link
  24. You might want to try cAlifornia Pizza Kitchen. They have a very limited gluten-free menu. They do that because they keep the gluten-free toppings in their own containers so they don't get cc'd. Oh.... Forgot, you can't eat dairy. but maybe the OP can?
  25. Every restaurant will give you that disclaimer. I suggested Outback and Red Robin because they are places that have been trained to take extra care for Celiacs. This is one of the groups that train and " certify" restaurants. They have worked with Outback, Bonefish, California Pizza Kittchen, etc. Open Original Shared Link PF Chang's is great, too...
