  1. Sounds like you are doing quite well. It can take a long time for the TTG to get down to " normal". > 100 could be 300....you don't know. So you have come a long way, "tTG normalizes slowly when on a strict gluten-free diet. This process may take years if the starting level is very high. If tTG is still high after a long time, aside from gluten...
  2. I think you should be able to scrub those pots and pans well and keep using them.
  3. Flourless Peanut Butter Cookies Ingredients · 1 cup creamy peanut butter (chunky would be good, too) · 1/2 cup granulated sugar · 1/2 cup packed light brown sugar (dark brown is OK,too) · 1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips · 1 large egg · 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 1.preheat the oven to 350°F. 2. Combine all the ingredients except chips in a b...
  4. Pudding Spice Cookies 1 cup soft butter or butter flavor Crisco ¼ cup sugar ¾ cup brown sugar 1 tsp vanilla 1 pkg instant Jello pumpkin spice pudding 2 eggs 2 ¼ cups gluten-free flour mix (any gluten-free all purpose flour mix seems to work) ¾ tsp xantham gum *** 1 tsp baking soda *** Hershey cinnamon chips 2 tsp cinnamon 1 tsp ground ginger ½ tsp grou...
  5. Exactly what we are trying to tell the OP. It doesn't cure Celiac as the OP stated. I think it was the OP who said that this author said that it would cure Celiac. Perhaps it was the wrong choice of words or an incorrect interpretation of the book?
  6. I thought we could start a thread with cookie recipes. People want them all year round. I have noticed that some people never cooked much pre-Celiac and now have to learn. A recipe thread could be added onto over the years. Future C.com readers - Check ingredients as products change over the years. What might be gluten-free today when I post a...
  7. I'll start a thread. I think SKi Lisa posted one last year.
  8. I will report back. I was trying to find an old thread with cookie recipes to resurrect. I thought people might like to add to it. We may just want to start a new cookie recipe thread. Anyone want to go first with a good recipe?
  9. They have a lot of different flours in the recipes. I am going to try the sour cream sugar cookies tonight if I can get all my other stuff done. I think I have all the " flours" already. I haven't looked at the meringue cookies yet. We make a very simple, plop them on a tray and bake kind. They are really nice with broken candy canes in them.
  10. I haven't had a chance to do more than glance at these recipes but thought this might be helpful. Open Original Shared Link
  11. Some people find that eliminating dairy, for a few weeks or a few months is helpful. Celiac damages the little villi that help digest the lactose in the dairy. Read the ingredients on everything you buy. It will become your new " normal"
  12. I don't know much about the GAPS diet. Why not just eat a more regular diet without gluten? Currently, there is no known cure for Celiac Disease.
  13. I have seen those giant ziplocks at target and Walmart before. What if you make them in 2-6 cup batches? The mixing bowl on my Kirchen aid would work for that. Or a large stock pot or turkey roaster? Maybe get one of the foil turkey pans and stir carefully? Let me know when you need my address....
  14. I would want to see the research. That article makes it sound like the virus is a known fact and it isn't. It looks like that " fact" was added by the author. The actual study just found that more kids have celiac. I don't think current research is looking at viruses as the cause. Open Original Shared Link
  15. Next time you see your doctor, I would ask them to clarify that. I am assuming you were actually diagnosed with Celiac? Positive celiac blood tests? Positive biopsies? An allergy is very different from Celiac, which is an autoimmune disease.
  16. Hip issues maybe. I'm just glad you don't think Yorkies contain gluten and cause your joint pains!
  17. I would want to get that looked at. What if he hurt his back? Sometimes a little doggie steroid helps a lot if its a sprain. Otherwise, there is doggie glucosamine and chondroitin for arthritis. Really funny thing- I didn't see who posted and I thought - Is someone blaming the dogs for glutening them?
  18. I agree with what Peter said. To simplify - read ingredients closely. It will list wheat barley or barley malt or maybe plain malt, or rye and oats. If the oats are gluten-free, they will proudly proclaim that. Soy sauce usually has wheat but...there are several brands that do not. I have seen salad dressings or sauces made with soy sauce that does...
  19. Coffee is hard on the stomach (gastritis, etc) for many people - Celiac or not. I do bet if I have a little milk with mine - seems to cut the acidity of the coffee. I went to the International Celiac Disease Symposium in Sept - all the food served was gluten free. We went through gallons of coffee every day!
  20. Looks like you have been gluten-free since 2010? DH shouldn't just show up now while on the gluten-free diet. Sounds like it might be something else.
  21. Please remember that any product info on this thread is 4 years old. Products change over that time. As for the garlic or oinion powder - in the Us and Canada and some other countries - if it has wheat added, it will be listed in the ingredients. The garlic and oinion powder I have is only garlic or onion. I think that is true for most brands.
  22. We have had a few people with "healthy Chef" in their names try to post here. Probably one of them, mad because we wouldn't approve their advertisements in their posts, taking it out on Celiacs.
  23. That person is really confused. We don't even eat GMO wheat. And a gluten protein is a gluten protein. Its dangerous how much that guy doesn't know he doesn't know!
  24. I probably posted this before for you. These are people who treat Celiac everyday and are up on all the legitimate research. Open Original Shared Link In blood tests, are false positives less common than false negatives? "Even though blood tests are quite accurate, they are falsely positive 1-3% of the time (i.e., being positive without the person...
  25. I would just read the ingredients. But, I'm with D. Why not just use real eggs without the added stuff? An egg white is about 15 calories, a whole egg about 90. I know the Scouts like them for camping because they don't have to worry about breaking eggs. But, sometimes, They just crack real eggs into a clean PB jar or something and shake them up and...
