  1. It didn't bother you....but was it yummy?
  2. I don't worry about hair dye. It's not likely to get in my mouth like shampoo in the shower. It's not an every day thing like a shampoo might be. There are a few dyes, shampoos and conditioners that clearly state wheat germ oil....I don't remember which. So read the labels. They are darn proud of that poison seed juice ( wheat germ oil) and will proudly...
  3. We love this! I make a separate bowl for me and bring my own little bag of chips to keep people from cc'ing it with crackers. I copied this and the amounts aren't there. I'll fix it in a minute. If it gets cool, just microwave again. Jalapeno Popper Spread 8 oz cream cheese (can use non-fat) 4 oz can chopped green chiles 4 oz can chipotles in Adobo...
  4. For casual people the "no thank you" "I already ate" "I'm in training" should work. Your closer friends and family you will need to explain a bit more.
  5. They beat me to it! most people don't need to know more than that. You were on a very strict low calorie diet before Celiac - what did you say then?
  6. Actually-1 . and some left-over meat. probably only need about 3/4 lb of burger. They were really good. They need the egg wash as it gives them a nice crisp crust.
  7. I know there are a lot that are gluten-free. People say the Costco ones are. I don't remember if the Walmart/Sam's Clubs are.
  8. I think malt flour would be barley malt and I would stay away from it. Not sure why they put malt flour on a chicken - wouldn't be my first thought if I was making a rotisserie chicken - Lets' see.....how should I season these lovely chickens? garlic? rosemary? parsley? salt and pepper? Hey, lets use up this malt flour! Open Original Shared Link
  9. Once again - if you have Celiac, most "gravy" as I define it (not tomato sauce but a dairy and flour mix) has wheat flour in it and you should not eat it. Malted milk shakes have malt (gluten) and you should not eat it.
  10. http://recipes.chebe.com/recipe/not-so-sloppy-joes-gluten-free Used half ketchup and half tomato based BBQ sauce. Yum!
  11. For a " researcher" I find it odd you would want to use unproven labs and lab tests. Open Original Shared Link
  12. Did you look at the ingredients? and the web site? Plain rice should be gluten-free. A flavored mix might have flour in it, so read the ingredients. Open Original Shared Link
  13. Open Original Shared Link This place has really good baked products. I'm not sure of the sizes, but maybe this can give you an idea of prices in San Francisco area. You could email and ask them how big the loafs are. No need to tell them why but you aren't in competition with them and they seem very friendly.
  14. Disneyland is the best place to be gluten-free. Have you checked their website? They did have a list. When you get there, go to the guest services next to the firehouse. You don't have to stand in line, they have a printout hanging in a box for all the food places. There is pizza, burgers, ice cream, hot dogs, fries, etc. When they get an "allergy order...

    ARCHIVED Applebee's

Please note: The original posts are from 2005. I know Applebys has added a sort of gluten-free menu since then.
  16. I actually had this discussion with a chef who was sitting at the bar of a restaurant. He said they shouldn't as they are just sugar and sometimes cinnamon. The bar tender went and asked the chef of the restaurant and he said they were just sugar/ no gluten. And I was at another restaurant and the same thing. They were safe. Sometimes they have...
  17. It ain't cheap but looky here: Open Original Shared Link
  18. I must have misunderstood. I thought there was some thought it might not even have been the path report for the biopsies? Or there was some thought he might not have done biopsies? Or it wasn't the correct report? Or he only did one or two biopsies? If you are sure you completely understand what the doctor is talking about, and its what you think he is...
  19. So you know what you need to do! Get the reports - you should have a pathology report for the biopsies.
  20. These 2 posters haven't been on the forum since 2009.
  21. A few things don't clean well and might have gluten in the cracks. Things like a colander that it is hard to clean each little hole or a wooden spoon which is full of cracks that can hide gluten or germs. If your pots and spoons, etc can clean well...use them.
  22. A Starbucks employee probably wouldn't know about a packaged product they sell. So I would go with the ingredients on the bottle and wheatgrass says no to me. I realize the grass part doesn't have gluten but it seems too likely to me that there could be a few seeds (containing gluten) in there. I just looked at the website. I looked at a few and...
  23. It said 4 on high. I think 4 on low would have been better. Or 2 on high. Without the bones, they don't take long to cook.
  24. I got steak for dinner Sunday night. they didn't look very big in the meat counter, so I got 3. They were huge! WE are having the leftover on steak salad tonight! Yum! Or Hub might use the left-over chicken. It already tastes a bit like salad dressing so he wants it on a salad.
  25. Normal paper shouldn't have gluten in it. There might be some fancy artisan paper with wheat and who knows what, but regular bank statements are going to be on the cheapest wood pulp paper & printed with the cheapest available. If you just want to have someone else do the job..... You could use that as an excuse I guess.
