  1. "Take a shorter walk & see if things loosen up. Then you can go farther." This is Cooper, my personal trainers advice to me everyday. Sure enough, Cooper loosens up & makes stiff me go farther. Don't see any drunken post-wedding posts from Ray-shell!
  2. I didn't know you were just down the street from me! These people were moving in with a pick- up full of the largest house plants ever! Missed the truck full of wood.
  3. I have gotten notes from the stadium to allow me to bring food in. Some stuff will be gluten-free. Popcorn, peanuts, drinks, candy, ice cream. It's all over priced anyway.
  4. I have heard there are problems with that book. " Real" Vodka should be made from potatoes. That's what I always thought. Gluten is a big molecule, so, in distilling, it should be too big and heavy to rise up in the steam. A few of the more sensitive folks have a problem with it. But the majority, are fine.
  5. I know this won't be a popular post but - I just want you to really think about this. What stood out to me was that she was this skinny looking on move- in day. Not 2 months after trying to eat at school. You even said she put herself in a position to not eat much all summer. She also participates in 2 activities that have a lot of eating disorders...
  6. Xantham gum seems to bother some people. It is in alot of products in small amounts. It is in gluten-free baked good so suddenly eating them means you are suddenly eating alot more X gum than before.
  7. Did they actuallt say "Play with your putter in the bathroom?"
  8. mcCormiks & Penzys plain spices & spice only mixes are great! I don't known if they make any thing like a taco seasoning mix with flour. Read the labels. I use Penzy's for the " odd" spices the grocery doesn't carry.
  9. Sorry you are feeeling bad. I remember when they first announced the gluten-free menu. It said at the bottom that they use the same fryers and some other nonsense. Couldn't get the website to give me the menu right now. The basic conclusion is that they have items that are gluten-free until they get thier hands on them & cook them. They aren...

    ARCHIVED Bite Guard

I have found that white vinegar dissolves flour. What if you soaked this thing for hours in 1/2 white vinegar 1/2 water? Then rinse and brush the heck out of it? Then rinse, rinse, rinse. Scrub with a tooth brush. If it still tastes like vinegar, you haven't rinsed enough!

    ARCHIVED Coca-Cola

Enjoy. I think all regular sodas are gluten-free. Haven't found one that isn't in the US.

    ARCHIVED Coca-Cola

Yeah. Its gluten-free! Some people are bothered by the High fructose corn syrup but that's not a gluten issue.
  13. Actually, I have had several people ask me if I was trying a take off on Karen & Caring. Like Peter said, the G is my last name. Someone who knows me would figure out who I am. Not very anonymous. Wish I had thought of Cougie! I love Mt Lions!
  14. Just re- read your post. Anti bacterial won't " kill" gluten. It just makes it germ less. If you think there is a lot of flour, cheap white vinegar cleans well. Sort of dissolves it so you can rinse it away.
  15. I went dairy lite for a couple of months. I didn't eat grilled cheese or a slice of cheese on my sandwich or my eggs. Had milk in my coffee. If hub made burgers, I ate a piece of cheese on them. Ate some pizza or a little cheese on pasta. Didn't drink any chocolate milk. Seemed OK for me.
  16. Open Original Shared Link Didn't work for me, so I put it here.
  17. I think you need to write a letter to your insurance company ( & a copy to the doctor) explaining that the endoscopy was done incorrectly & didn't look for the disease it was intended to look for. Insurance won't pay for another endo when you just had one! If it was done at a hospital - send a copy of the letter to the billing Dept and the Medical...
  18. Good to see you, Lo! I have seen you reading along & was wondering how you were doing. The Disability $ will be a blessing. I don't think you can get it without a lawyer. Goverment buracracy! At least they seem to be figuring out waht is wrong with you. That way you can deal with it. Hope Tony is enjoying college. J is loving it...
  19. Did you try calling the Univ of Chicago Celiac Center? Maybe they have someone?
  20. Man! No BE, Classes and a molting chicken! You have plenty of excuses to drink! Maybe vhivkie chickie does, too? (I wasn't even drunk when I typed that!)
  21. I think he is saying that if the "Super strict diet" doesn't work. If eliminating processed gluten-free stuff works, great!
  22. Probably costs more to test for gluten and produce in a dedicated gluten-free factory?
  23. All I'm saying is, while you are waiting for your paperwork to go through, just ask if you can have the bathroom deal. You don't need a fridge & microwave. Kids bring lunches to school all the time. Have you even talked to the school counselor? Any of her teachers? I can't imagine a teacher that wouldn't let her leave for the bathroom without...
  24. Have you talked to the school counselor? That's how you get it started around here. Did you even ask if she could just use the restroom when she needs to? At our High School, it wouldn't be a big deal. Get her a "cooler" type lunch box so she doesn't have to leave her lunch in a fridge. Until your official paperwork goes thru, can she just use one of...
  25. Once again..... Em says it perfectly!
