    I try to have a little something with me - a small Snickers, bag of peanuts, Lara bar type thing. I have found that most mini-marts have little bags of peanuts, M&M's, yogurt. Something to get you through.

    Freeze some stuff like pancakes, sandwiches, muffins, whatever. They don't need freezer space at their house because you will want them to thaw & be eaten in the next day. Tape a note on top of the bag that reminds Hub to get the bag out of your freezer. They don't need to be kept cold on the way to the friend's house, they will be cold.

    Would the teacher you work for tell her? It's gross to take food out of someones bowl anyway. We always think of what to do after, but if it happens again, just give her the bowl of food and tell " Well, I can't eat that now. You enjoy!" then smile.

    I keep a towel with me at all times ( except in the shower).

    Love the San Juan. It's like a whole wheat type of bread. You can let a few pieces thaw on the counter and make a sandwich without toasting it. If you are like me & not fond of white spongy Wonderbread stuff.

    For me, maybe not you, but you can decide: I would get nauseous when I started worrying about " is the food gluten-free?". " OMG! Did I check the label?" This was just psychological and went away, mostly. I still have panic moments but I stop & think. I'm thinking of putting " Don't Panic" in large reassuring letters on the front of my recipe book...

    Yeah! Can you believe how insensitive they are? Busy with earthquakes, jobs, kids, pets.... (just a joke) Welcome to the forum. Look & search around, you might find out the answers to your questions. Just check the dates on the old posts, some of them are practically pre-historic and the info may be out-dated.

Once in a while wheat or barley turn up, so read the labels. Barley doesn't seem to be in much but it is used in sweet things like butterscotch chips. ...

    Fill it with rice. Then microwave. Can add some herbs if you want. That's what we have made here.

    They can't tell for sure, just by looking. Sometimes if it's really bad & they have the best viewing equipment, I have heard they can see the damage. Usually, you wait for the biopsy to tell you as the damage is tiny & hard to see. Tiny doesn't mean it's not bad. It's a surface damage. The pieces that are damaged are hard to see with our magnification...
