  1. This is exactly what I was thinking. Hope you're better today!
  2. If something is still bothering her, maybe the doc would have her back off eating a few foods that are hard to digest. If she is like my parents, she would be more likely to go gluten-free, cut dairy, etc if a doctor told her. Even if she doesn't have celiac disease, she is having problems and the most likely culprit is a food that doesn't agree with her...
  3. That sounds like a great idea. A romantic trip to the yarn shop. Checking for the appropriate color and softness. Will show that to J.
  4. I'm surprised that after that major surgery, they didn't tell her things to not eat. My SIL had a perforation in her small intestine and they had to remove a piece. She does not have celiac disease the hole was from something else. They told her to be gluten , dairy and red meat light. ( maybe something else) No grilled cheese on whole wheat but a little...
  5. Christmas factoid: To deliver his gifts in one night, Santa would have to make 822.6 visits per second, sleighing at 3,000 times the speed of sound. At that speed, Santa and his reindeer would burst into flame instantaneously. ( please don't ask me to provide documentation to back this up )
  6. What she said. We are going to a boss party this weekend but it's not a sit down meal. We are going to PF Changs first. Then we will avoid the food room (big house, lots of small rooms). Also, even if her food appears to be gluten-free it might not be. Example: she makes a green salad. She cuts bread on the cutting board, brushes it off a little...
  7. We had BBQ sauced chicken, red potatoes cut into squares, tossed with olive oil and Italian seasoning and " fried" in the oven and carrot sticks.
  8. All my fudge recipes and other candies I make ( peanut brittle, truffles ) are gluten-free.
  9. This is what they do for fun in Canada! Throw teddy bears! Open Original Shared Link
  10. The vinegar is good because its made from wine. Check the liquid smoke brand. My "Is this gluten-free?" app lists these: Wrights's Hickory Liquid Smoke or Mesquite Liquid smoke
  11. Only a bow tie? No wonder you didn't get dinner.
  12. Poor thing! Didn't get much sleep last night?
  13. I'm out shopping! Well, trying to get out.
  14. Too bad Jess didn't have this for finals! Emergency Inflatable Brain Keep this Emergency Brain with you at all times in case your real brain freezes up, goes blank or starts to malfunction. Also makes a great gift for a ditsy person or a forgetful friend
  15. Loved the bacon air freshener! Want to get some Cowboy bandaids for the Robotics team. Maybe I can find a place here in town that has some. Yes, Jess, you appear to be alive! At least enough to type.
  16. Bacon bandaids are $4.95 - Ok. plus $4.95 to ship . Saw this when you go to order: STOP! If you haven't spent $35 yet, may we suggest that you reconsider? We include an EXTRA FREE GIFT for orders with ITEMS totaling $35 or more! We're sure it will be something you'll cherish forever
  17. You do not need that stress right before, during or after delivery. Ask them to come to "help" after your hub goes back to work. I am assuming he is only taking a week or 2. Have them stay in a hotel near-by "so you don't disturb thier sleep with a newborn". I had one baby C-sect & one not. You wil be fine the first few weeks with the hub only for...
  18. Try giving him this: Open Original Shared Link When an individual is diagnosed with celiac disease, the entire family learns that they must be tested for the condition, for they are now at risk. First degree relatives (parent, child, sibling) have a 1 in 22 chance of developing celiac disease in their lifetimes; in second degree relatives, (aunt...
  19. When we are travelling and sharing PB, we put a bunch out onto a clean plate and the gluteny ones have at it. I keep the jar for my far superior gluten-free bread. If they need more, too bad!
  20. Awwww... the subtle approach.
  21. Didn't see them yet at my grocery. Maybe it so new, the old ones have to be sold first. Not really my kind of cereal, but they make good snacks and I thought I might get them for the food pantry.
  22. I think I may start a dress code for the squirrels that dine at my backyard cafe.
  23. Instead of Tea Parties with Dolls, kids have last suppers with gluten free bread and grape juice. Open Original Shared Link
