  1. what you described is classic withdrawal. Do you have a support system for the toddler? If not, I would suggest a gradual diet change, you will feel miserable, just less so, but over a longer period of time. This is not the ideal! good luck
  2. the D part is a vasoconstrictor....
  3. hopefully they will have the in vitro testing by the time he is that age. I, frankly, wouldn't want to be around a pubertal male with these psyc symptoms!
  4. can you just oats?? McCains oats are from Ireland and are considered not CCd.
  5. get your copper level checked, a def can contribute to loss of hair color.
  6. if I used the adjective I wanted to, I probably would get a reprimand.....your new doc is the hind most part of a mule. get a new one, asap.
  7. took me a little searching....first the Vitamin D level appears to be inclusive, both D3 and 2, and calcitriol is increased in the presence of prolactin, which you have an elevation in d/t breast feeding. check with your OBGYN/midwife, to see what the norm is for a lactating woman. And make sure your Ca++ intake is sufficient.
  8. Katie...for your own edification/interest/support; you may want to read about Abram Hoffer. Interesting fellow, a psychiatrist from Canada, since died, but was in the Orthomolecular psychiatry movement.
  9. Vitamin D, just go to the health food store and get the 50,000 unit Vitamin D3. The kind from the doc is going to be D2, don't want that. one every 5-7 days and retest in ~ 3 months.
  10. hmm yellow feces, makes me think lac of bile salts....gallbladder issue. Good luck
  11. There have been cases of Ins. refusing dx celiacs coverage. Go with the flow, and maybe your migraines will at least diminish, as well.
  12. what in heaven are they PUTTING anything but salt and cabbage in a sauerkraut jar?
  13. with electronic med recs, he could have seen the old recs. which kinda defeats the "2' opinion" visit.
  14. That sounds like what is called a "red wine h/a"....the tyramine competes with histamine for receptor sites, the histamine wins, the tyramine cause vasoconstriction and when it is finally metabolized, for me ~8-10 hours later, there is rebound vasodilation. which causes the h/a. Taking an antihistamine can help, if taken earlier enough. good luck
  15. are you presently gluten free? thoroughly gluten free? The vitamin D, what supplement are you taking? Remember, natures way of getting Vit D is through sunlight on skin. Get outside between 10 and 2, with at least 20/30 % of your skin uncovered, for 20 minutes or so....not so long you start to turn pink. good luck
  16. yeah, that is like being a little bit pregnant.....
  17. Mommida, is it possible that you are a chimera?
  18. yup, and those rascally parents as well, like that is very likely!
  19. Your doc said she hasn't experienced it, but it does occur. doesn't mean she is wrong because she couched her answer very carefully. Make sure you have had the complete celiac blood testing,, not just screening tests. Then, if they come back negative, and you can't get a doc to do an endo. Try the gluten free diet for 3 months and see how it goes.
  20. A small subset of persons don't do well with hyper limiting of salt....getting ready for work, can't research for you right now. but give that a shot. could be protein def. too.
  21. Get son's vitamin levels checked, he should have been well on the way to healing. I am betting his D is in the ....well, you know where I mean, lol.
  22. You might check out some digestive enzymes...
