  1. There are others that could probably answer that but you aren't alone with the yogurt thing. It's been 9 months and I still can't eat yogurt. A small amount of cheese or a small ice cream is ok so don't know what it is with the yogurt - and I love it!
  2. do you have a preferred cleaner? I worry that the cleaner won't kill the gluten.
  3. I have a lot of trouble in warm weather (and we're in So. Ca) I have tried walking but if it is over 80 out within about 10 minutes I am nauseated, light headed, and feel like I am going to faint. My sodium levels are still all messed up and I am 9 months gluten-free.
  4. I take a different medication by Teva and it's ok. Teva seems to be on the ok list.
  5. I got rid of all of my plastic containers and am slowly replacing them with glass - and ziplocs!
  6. we have Fusion Pizza here in the west. Yum! And the gluten-free is only $2 extra.

one less thing is always good! We travel in a fifth wheel during the summer so feeding 5 dogs gluten filled in a small space was too much, aside from not being good for them. There are several gluten-free/grain free foods around. Thank goodness!
  8. My "official" diagnosis is gluten intolerant. My scope only went as far as the stomach and my blood work was negative as I wasn't eating any gluten. I had stopped eating except for some rice and bites of chicken. Every time I ate it hurt so bad that it was easier to be hungry & not eat. I will stay with the diagnosis I have than to pursue the official...
  9. Our first long car trip out of state was a food disaster but I learned a lot! We are taking another trip in March and I have made out a list of non perishable emergency type foods that I can take along in case we can't find a large market (lot of very small towns). I know flying is space & weight limited where a car isn't but you might find a list helpful...

Natural Balance dog food is 100% grain free and from the list of ingredients appears to be gluten-free. My five dogs love it, dry skin gone and coats brighter. Not sure if that brand is available for cats as don't have one but might be worth checking out
  11. I feel like I am always telling friends the exact same thing... "I am used to not eating what you are. I honestly don't miss it." They don't seem to believe me and still don't want to eat certain stuff in front of me. Don't know how to make others feel more comfortable.
  12. Pity parties can be good and I have had my share. The only bad part is that I am the only guest! No one ever comes. On the positive side... Tonight my son told me that the only reason he was glad I have celiac is that it has taught us all to eat healthy.
  13. I so sympathize with your daughter as I also had terrible canker sores. Several at one time and they are so very painful. They did lessen the longer I was gluten-free. I did have a prescription for a numbing mouth wash that helped and sorry I don't remember the name of it, however, Please check out the ingredients First. I took it before I went gluten-free...
  14. It took about 3 months for me to feel better. One day I just realized that I wasn't going to bed at 8:00 any more. Can really tell the difference if I forget the iron more than once. Hope it helps you
  15. I have granite counters that I have scrubbed the heck out of. I still worried some about any nooks & crannies so bought a very large glass cutting board. Tossed all the old ones.
  16. since going gluten-free my cancer sores may pop out but never get to the ulcerated part. I used to get 8 or 9 at a time.
  17. I eat whole foods for the most part. I do buy a load of bread to have on hand as I will make a quick sandwich if we're going to be gone all day but really try to keep anything processed down to one small treat a week. The strange thing is that I no longer crave "junk" food. Now I find myself craving good stuff like veggies. Weird!!
  18. I take Floradix Floravital Iron & Herbs liquid. It is at the health food store. be careful as there are two that look exactly the same, both made by the same complany, Salus. One is marked Gluten free, the other is not & has wheat. After 6 weeks I can stay awake later than 8:00! lol
  19. I eat Mission brand at home. I won't eat them out any more after getting sick. Am sure someone just handled the flour ones & then mine but not taking chances any more.
  20. ok - I'm dumb. I clean the micro plate but don't cover stuff. Why should I?
  21. If I don't know what is being served then I call ahead and ask so that I can bring something similiar. Maybe that would help so you don't feel so left out. It's hard to always be different. I have been glutened at a gathering though for the last time. From now on I will be bringing my own food no matter what. It's just safer.
  22. you might want to try adding in some hefty servings of fruit and veggies. All that natural stuff.
  23. what dosage do you take?
  24. I agree Loey. I am back with my therapist and can have all the pity parties I want. She's paid to listen! lol
  25. I have no suggestions, just a ton of sympathy! I am 9 months gluten-free and my c is worse than ever. I eat lots of fiber, drink water till I am floating away, take supplements and...... just C! Two Ducalax is all that keeps things amovin'. I hope you find something that helps. Not sure which is worse - C or D !!
