  1. I love that philosophy! I think I am going to make it a game too
  2. HAHAHAH I so was thinking this!!! Awesome.
  3. I am adopted on one side so I didn't find out about my family history on my biological mothers side until later, but apparently there is an uncle with early bowel cancers, and all the women have bowel problems (IBS/Crohns). My dad has Celiac markers but refuses to stick to gluten-free and his mother has crohns. I though it was VEEEERY interesting to...
  4. Oh my goodness, I am so sorry that you had to deal with this drama! It's totally unnecessary! When my MIL was being difficult I printed out handouts and highlighted the bit about wheat and how white flour is not even remotely safe...she seemed to get it. Sending good vibes to you!!!
  5. It depends, I got glutened at the beach but it was all CC and took 2 days to get REALLY sick. Other times I have been sick within 2 hours of eating it.
  6. The last Gluten thing I ate was a bowl of Cheerios. I thought I was going to die. It's not so much food that I miss (although I DO miss mexican food) but the freedom to eat anything without analyzing.
  7. Pamelas chocolate chunk cookies are pretty dang close

    ARCHIVED Stress

Thanks for all the input! I really thought I was going nuts lol. The only thing that changed is I have to feed the animals (I wear gloves and wash my hands right after). Hopefully it straightens out soon...my poor baby has some sort of fever going on right now (let's add MORE stress! It's only the first 48 hours since his dad left and my kid is SICK ALREADY...

    ARCHIVED Stress

My husband just deployed and our son isn't handling it well...and lately it seems like everything I eat is making me feel sick. Is it possible that I could just be aggravating my food intolerances with stress? I know I have a nervous stomach, but I also was wondering if it was possible that it will make me more sensitive. Just a theory .
  10. I wear one, I am married but a military wife so I am alone a lot. Also, I have a toddler who is usually with me. If something happened to me, people would need to know 1) I have asthma, 2) I have a PCN allergy and 3)I have celiac disease. My husband feels MUCH better with me wearing a bracelet.
  11. Cool, thanks! Yeah we made it through the first week ok, so fingers crossed it stays that way!
  12. I'm sure if you have any kind of a food allergy, other digestive food problems can be aggravated by it. Loose and yellow also could be yOur gallbladder. I have found that I can tolerate very small amounts but it builds up in my system to a HUGE sick filled day I hope you feel better!!
  13. Holy cow I can eat movie popcorn??
  14. I'm having trouble accepting that my son won't eat as well as I can feed him at school. I am going to start sending him lunch, but since being diagnosed we eat SO healthy. Then he goes to school. I took him to school at lunch time today and saw what they were feeding him...and oh goodness. It made me wish I had fed him before he went to school. Being a Celiac...
  15. I am hyperflexible, 6'1" and weighing in at a whopping 159 pounds. My physical therapist told me that I pop because my frame is so long...I am just really lanky. It's possible that it's the autoimmune joint swelling (in which case you would be sore too) or you could just have hyperlax joints . My knees, elbows, neck, hips, back...everything pops on me....
  16. HAHAHAHA I LOVE IT! I have to wipe all the grumbs off of my son when he gets home from school. 4
  17. Yesterday was my sons first day of nursery school, and when I came to pick him up, they wiped down his hands and face, and I brushed his teeth when he came in the house...Is that good enough to keep me from getting sick? He had all kinds of food that I can't eat yesterday (and crackers for snack ) . Does he need a rinse off when he gets in the door?
  18. I don't know how to but I want to learn.
  19. I am 23, and I totally understand how yo feel. But it isn't worth it to be sick all the time. Just learn to plan your meals. It's cheaper, and way better for you. You'll be healthier. I guess I have just adjusted, I never liked eating out that much and I much prefer my own food to something prepared by some teenager.
  20. I TOTALLY AGREE!!! My son starts nursery school on Monday, and Wednesday my husband wants to take me to lunch at a restaurant that has a gluten-free menu (kid free!!) and I am afraid of chickening out!!!

    ARCHIVED Holidays

So I found out today that my husband will be deploying for a year instead of for 6-9 months. This is in addition to the 2.5 month deployment coming up (which makes his total deployment time 14.5 months in an 18 month period ). Because of this new (and unpleasant) information, we are trying to map out holidays for the 2.5 months he will be home. Because...
  22. That is crazy. I wouldn't be able to keep my moth shut around them. I can guarantee you I would have said "Really? You feel like crap? And you're still eating that? If you want to torture your body go ahead but don't complain to me about how you feel like crap afterwards."
  23. I am 23 and just got diagnosed, after having a baby. It adds up, I always had a "nervous stomach" and thought that everyone had an constant upset stomach. I'm sorry you have to deal with this, but at least you know now. I would say, just stay away from processed foods. Eat a lot of fresh fruit and veggies, plain chicken breast, read your own labels....
  24. it depends, how sensitive are you? I use normal shampoo, makeup, lotion (although not aveeno) and soap. The chapstick I would ask about but she'll probably chalk it up to being quirky. You can TALK about the gum stuff but maybe lightly, just to test the waters. If you aren't like...crazy sensitive...it might be ok (do you lick your pillows? I generally...
  25. YES! People keep trying to give me their old bread machines!! I was like "No...I'm good..." I don't even explain anymore because I never get anywhere!
