  1. Blood testing is better, and any doctor can order a blood celiac panel. Yes, you have to continue to eat gluten for ALL celiac testing to be accurate.

  4. What type of IgA? It should be anti-something. Anti-EMA or anti-DGP would indicate celiac. Anti-TTG can also be positive in Crohn's or microscopic colitis so you would need more testing.   17. What Korwyn said!!! Health problems happen to everyone. You are being much too hard on yourself. Celiac is much easier to handle than many health problems, and by simply sticking to a diet you can be healthy to care for your children and be a great mom. As far as saving money, I had to eat gluten-free on a student budget so I understand that issue....

  21. Sorry, there isn't any valid diagnostic testing in the US that works gluten-free. Some people pay for Enterolab because it's very sensitive and can sometimes pick up antibodies in people eating low amounts of gluten, but Enterolab has never properly validated their tests as medical diagnostic tests. They seem to have a very high false positive rate....

  25. I don't think you're supposed to take betaine HCl it on an empty stomach. You naturally make stomach acid when you eat, not between meals.
