  1. If it isn't a skin issue I wouldn't worry about it personally. I do not use anything with gluten in it of course...but I might use a product that had milk protein in it on my skin, as I have a dairy intolerance.
  2. I am also definitely against depo. Depo made two friends from college absolutely miserable, with some effects lasting after going off the meds. What was your issue with the nuvaring if you don't mind me asking?
  3. I think it would be worth trying some of the more 'natural' laundry products. We use 7th generation and it works great. You could ck out their fabric softner: Open Original Shared Link Ecover is also a good brand. I really like their stain stick: Open Original Shared Link
  4. God is good. So glad to hear how she is!
  5. Patti-- I don't know, maybe this would bother you too...but 7th Generation (what we use) has a lavender scented high efficieny detergent...
  6. Ha ha Don't worry Laurie...Vincent is quite the joker. Oh, I think... Vincent--I think you need some more dairy, calcium. That would help. Why don't you add a shake to your dinner?
  7. Well-hi! We're glad to have you here!
  8. I agree with Robbin on the browning if you have time...and add in the drippings for extra yumminess
  9. Boy, hasn't Harry and David had a couple of recalls lately? Shady business going on there....
  10. Maybe this was already mentioned on this thread (in a rush and can't read the whole thing right now)...but, could soy be a problem for you? I know it is in the tropical source chocolate. I eat their chocolate all the time w/o issue, and I don't think CC should be an issue with their product.
  11. Well, I haven't taken communion since I was diagnosed. I'm not catholic, so we opt for the juice, and I haven't even gone that route yet. At some point, even as a few other gluten intolerant/celiac folks join our church, I am planning on bring up a gluten-free communion option. My church has around 5,000 attenders, so I was thinking a notice in the bulletin...
  12. I use Bob's Red Mill. Pls be cautious of foods in the bulk bins at stores. They are a prime spot for CC.
  13. I haven't had any issues with amaranth...but early on in the diet...b/c of slow-going progress, it would sometimes appear I was having reactions to safe foods when in fact the GI distress was just a sign of the terrible state of my intestines. Amaranth is a higher fiber food...so starting out on the diet, foods higher in fiber may be harder for your system...
  14. Jess- Don't worry...that makes perfect sense after an infusion. Mine were higher than yours post infusion and still normal. Most likely, the number will drop and "even out" over the coming months.
  15. The new natural hormel meats say gluten-free right on the package...
  16. This is a more helpful way to search. I actually search the forum this way all the time--works better for me than using the celiac search engine. Lots of times I combine user names with topics too...like if I am looking for a thread I did on ice cream, I might try searching jenvan ice cream. I actually did this on Saturday when I was looking for the choc...
  17. I don't know if its the same as me...but this reminds me of my fibro symptoms. Bascially all over muscle pain, fascial adhesions, but with a lot of specific areas, points that are extra tender, and will send me through the roof when poked, bumped etc. These are all over, but my hips are one of the worst spots. ie. If my cat steps on my hip when I'm laying...
  18. Millet itself is fine...and good !
  19. Wow--that's great! I don't know why, but this week I was actually thinking about easybake ovens
  20. boy--that's a hard one. the swedish berries say gluten-free, trop source def is gluten-free/cf. Ever had issues with nuts or soy? Have any weird drinks? I hope you feel better soon...hard to be sick, esp when away from home... Maybe dairy cc in the chips?
  21. Forgive me if I'm being redundant I cked with my mom who is in HR/insurance. She said the following: Protection under HIPAA is for employees who receive health benefits through their employers and who subsequently change jobs. HIPAA applies to most group plans and I am not aware of any protection for individual coverage. My suggestion would be to contact...
  22. Thus goes the search Don't get too discouraged--things are the hardest at first. You can find products that are delicious and replace ones you used to rely on. Low carb bars that are gluten-free are a bit harder however... There are some threads on here about 'bars' though, if you need some new ideas.
  23. Oh Nikki--def recommend the weight-bearing again to him. My mom was post-menopausal when she was diagnosed with osteopenia and her doc wanted her to do fosomax. She refused and starting working out and doing weight-bearing exercises. Granted, she didn't have full-blown osteoporosislike your husband, BUT she got her bone density back to up normal just doing...

    ARCHIVED Malt

Seems like this is actually going to be a starting fresh point for you... So try the mantra--when in doubt, leave it out! If you aren't 100% sure its gluten-free, then don't even try it....
