  1. bb22-- no, no ones mad! i meant that last night i had "posted" (written a message) to this thread and when i came back this morning it wasn't there. i was basically saying, 'uh oh, what happened to my post/message!?' definitely no relation to 'pissed', so no worries! don't worry, you'll get all the lingo down if you keep hanging out here!

    ARCHIVED Nuvaring

I do not rec the patch...didn't it come out that there were issues with the consistent secretion of hormones--that hormones were spiking or not be secrete correctly? I do rec nuvaring. I know several woman who have had great success with it too. It is a lower dose of hormones than oral and it is absorbed directly into your bloodstream, not via digestive...
  3. You absolutely have a right to it. Most likely they will hand over copies and think nothing of it. If they give you ANY issues, insist and remind them its your legal right. I get copies of all my labs etc. and keep them in a file to take to other docs, to track my own progress. I think it is a must with a chronic illness or disease. I have never had...
  4. Okay, so I'm going insane b/c I wrote this long post yesterday! Arg! Anywho, in abbreviated form. So sorry to hear of your mom and all she has been through! I definitely would have her tested for Celiac. Go here to see how one gets tested: Open Original Shared Link I would take the portion on blood tests with you to her doc, in case they are not...
  5. I have a friend with that disease Karen. Glad you're going to try the hema. Let me know how it goes!

    ARCHIVED Always Cold!

Could be a circulation issue or anemia, which cold is a symptom of.
  7. You rock Judy!
  8. whoa, i so posted to this last night, i swear. anyone see it?
  9. Karen- I don't think you are weird. Visiting a cemetary and looking around is a cool way to engage with history. (I love the head stones that are benches--I always think, that person must have been cool : ) I have the article you printed off, but haven't gotten to read it yet...hopefully during lunch today. My gr-grandma was 96, and her son, my mom's...
  10. Interesting discussion...as has been said here by some...it depends on the doctor. Some are very poor, some are amazingly gifted and have a real care and desire to help their patients. I have experienced both. Skoki--I think you have a good challenge here I don't consider myself a doctor basher (I don't think you were talking about me anyway)....
  11. Karen... A suggestion I always take things into my own hands or insist when need be. Perhaps your doc is stubborn...I'm not sure. When my doc said to continue the pills after a long time on them with no results, I insisted on seeing a hematologist to get the infusion. Once I got to the hema., she totally agreed. Anywho, I can't remember how long you...
  12. Christine-- Welcome! I do love to can too I opened a can of homemade no sugar added applesauce last night. Very good... I do make my own spaghetti sauce...I made several batches this year to use the end of the garden tomatoes. I love to make soup too, but usually froze that, rather than can. We have a deep-freeze. We make our own regular and white...
  13. I read Dang girl! Glad that part of your 'journey' is over now! Eat crow indeed I have a similar story...no time to write it all here though. I was finally diagnosed by my hematologist (one of my favorite docs--really great)…who suggested the test but was very doubtful I had it. I definitely wanted tested, as I just had a friend get diagnosed. S...
  14. Judy--no problem As for the dentist--I asked them to verify all the products they use to be free from wheat, barley, rye and oats. They were able to do so and had an allergy/ingredient manual that classified products by certain allergens. I didn't have any problems with anything. I did not get a flouride treatment or have them verify that however. Is...
  15. Sounds like you did some cool things! A craft room, that would be awesome! Maybe one day my dh and I can share a craft studio/workbench tool room Scrapbooks are so great. I made one for my dh when we got married. I'm sure your daughter will love hers! My mom made ones for me for the high school, college years. Good luck with the dog! He does sound...
  16. Good Morning America...go here Open Original Shared Link
  17. I haven't seen my favorite thread in a while Anyone doing any cool crafts or projects right now? I went antiquing with my mom over the weekend and bought a slew of vintage hankies. I am going to sew them into a table runner, and then embroider on it as well. My first embroidering project went well. I am the MOH in my friend’s wedding and I embroidered a...
  18. I never noticed any issues with Diflucan when I took it in the past.
  19. Deb, interesting info. It hurts that your dh had to go through all that... There are a lot of issues with the current medical establishment in my mind, but one of them, as you touched upon, is too many patients! Some docs do make you feel like you are literally on an assembly line, just stopping by with barely enough time to go into your symptoms....
  20. If you want the intolerance test, you need IgG testing. Your doc may or may not do that. I used Great Plains Labs for mine. They will do IgE or IgG, or both. Can give more info if you want.
  21. I totally agree with Tiffany. If you want food, don't do scratch testing. If you are looking for IgG food intolerances, not typical allergies, then don't do a typical IgE allergy test either.
  22. Hey all! Thanks for the input! I'm sending it on to my dad to see what happens. Liz-I do have a bag of that mix at home, I need to try it! Hmmm...maybe tonight is the night? Thanks for asking about my dad. He is the same, I have been sending him multiple article, saying the gluten-free diet is worth a try, whether his biopsy came back negative or...
  23. From the reading I've done, it seems like if an ADHD child is suffering from leaky gut or gluten/dairy intol the diet might help...not just for classic CDers alone.
  24. True that Karen! Do any of the parents heed your input? Anyone put their ADHDers on a gluten-free/cf diet?
  25. I have to join in and say I too loved the graham crackers and icing. Hmmm...someone posted the graham cracker recipe. I should try it.
