  1. I didn't know they sold them at Costco...but they are definitely a staple in my diet--yum!
  2. I have noticed that after going gluten-free, I am more affected by alcohol, which makes sense since I am absorbing more of what I am consuming, as opposed to the past. I don't have much of a desire for alcohol or sugary candies anymore, since they make me feel run-down, headachey etc. Perhaps my body will eventually adjust... but its not like I need either...
  3. Dani- How were you feeling last night? Uptight, anxious? Think about it hard...sometimes you can be anxious even if you don't realize it. I just wondered b/c I know you've been thinking a lot lately and trying to figure out what's going on with your body, which can be stressful. Anxiety or panic attacks can present themselves as chest tightness, shaking...
  4. I e-mailed Annie's about their allergy precautions/procedures in manufacturing recently b/c of some concern over a dressing, and I thought I'd post their response below: Allergen Statement (Salad dressings, Marinades, BBQs, Worcestershire) Our manufacturing facilities meet the highest standards of cleanliness and quality control protocols and adhere...
  5. Pls let me know how the appt goes...Depression is understandable in her situation... and you never know, it could be contributing to the issue now. She does need to be concerned though when she goes for so long w/o a bm...worries of impacting stool etc. I still recommend the psyllium until the problem is resolved.... Keep me updated...
  6. So my dh and I went last night...and the place was great. There were a few gluten-free products I wish they had, but overall they had a really good selection..and a few products I hadn't seen before. From the products I checked, they are definitely cheaper than wild oats or even a mainline grocery like Marsh. Their organic apples ranged from 1.39 to 1...

    ARCHIVED New Doctor...

Rachel-- I am happy for your doc find too Sounds pretty 'cutting edge', to use a cliche! Do let us know the results etc. I'm curious about the adrenal function test. I have had slow progress...but much of what I've learned and people I've spoken with have caused me to think that I just need a considerable amount of time for healing. However, like you...
  8. Some of you in CO, NV, NM and AZ will already know Sunflower Market...but we just got one in my town...about 7 blocks from my house I am going tonight...but my brother went today and called me...said they had an aisle labeled gluten-free. I will check it out! Great for me...but, great for all of us still as more and more options appear across the country...
  9. It's so hard to say since she hasn't really been completely cf for a substantial period of time yet. But, that could definitely be part of the problem. She may need to help jump-start her system moving... It is still possible that dairy and gluten are culprits...but have any doctors ever discussed the possibility of a functional disorder causing the constipation...
  10. They definitely have a gluten-free lemon cookie. Also, I e-mailed them on their manufacturing practices...their response is below: Thank you for your email. We love to hear from our customers. We have dedicated days and dedicated equipment. Our No Gluten bakery facility is in the works and should be completed this year. (2005)
  11. I had a friend from college had been diagnosed 2 years before. The funny thing is in college we went on a mission trip overseas together and used to say we must have picked up some parasites there Little did we know we did have the same disease...
  12. I would have to look back in my "binder" but some MAC lipsticks Definitely contain gluten. Can't remember which type. If someone pms me I can look for it at home...just might have to remind me
  13. Excited for you and what's ahead--do keep us updated! I have 4 friends with babies coming in the next few months...I'm in the stage of life...less marriages, more babies!
  14. oh yeah! i love love the nana banana...eat one as a snack yummy!
  15. I get my chips at either Wild Oats, another local health food store or Kroger--ours has a 'natural' section with the chips. I thought Whole Foods has them too...pretty sure I bought some at one of the Whole Foods in Chicago. You'll really like them

    ARCHIVED Hiccup

For me, I get rid of them my taking deep breaths, closing my eyes and calming down. I find I often get them when I am anxious or hyper. I have always gotten them a lot...even when I was in the womb ! That annoyed my mom
  17. Also, go here and read this current thread on peoples favorite cereals: Open Original Shared Link
  18. I am under the impression that colgate is gluten-free...but I'll let someone who uses colgate post that here for sure. I know all Crest pastes are gluten-free. There are a host of icecreams that are gluten-free. My favorite brand is Edy's If you go on their website and select a flavor, they will state whether it is gluten-free or not. I know going thru...
  19. I also agree with Nancy. Get a district manager etc... It's different than wanting to complain about an incident that happened to you alone...you are trying to protect other people from getting sick. Good for you to take initiative! Let us know how it goes.
  20. I pasted info I have posted before on "allergies" below. Explains the difference between a classic food allergy (IgE) and a delayed food allergy/sensitivity/food intolerance (IgG). York Allergy Labs and Great Plains Labs do this type of testing. I opted for Great Plains b/c my insurance covered part of it. (I can give you more info on that if you like...
  21. Liz--I agree. When my dad was offered, he didn't know anything about it, so I did the research and made a presentatation to him He would never take it. My boss has a friend that took metho...and it ended up damaging several of his organs...and he died also. Our new friend is probably getting horrified from these stories! But yes, one does need to know...
  22. the lists are here: https://www.celiac.com/st_main.html?p_catid=12 you may want to print them off and take them with you...
  23. There is a link between psoriasis/psoriatic arthritis and Celiac...research is still being done (fairly new) but so far its been observed that an increased number of individuals with psoriasis have Celiac or gluten intolerance. I have psoriasis on my scalp, have for years. Mine has begun to improve now after being gluten-free, but seems to flare up when...
  24. Miracle whip's okay aside from the soy, which i guess you aren't worrying about in condiments... I think they are still updating their website, but this is the other brand of rice milk I was telling you about: Open Original Shared Link Breakfast ideas: rice milk and cereal (I can list some of those if you want); eggs with spinach, sausage, salt/pepper...
  25. Alexis--as Merika stated, call your dentist, in advance and ask them to verify that the products they will be using on you are wheat, barley, rye and oat free. My dentist had a book that listed all allergens including gluten in their products to cross reference. I found out there was another Celiac going to my dentist too. It is a medical office, so they...
