  1. Thanks for doing that...my dh and I will probably be doing that in the next few years...
  2. If she's staying away from soy, look closely at almond milks--I believe Blue Diamond has soy in it. Pacific is probably my least favorite tasting rice milk (hate to say that since you ordered it!!) But, some others like it and my dh can't tell a difference between that one and others I like. A very good tasting one you might be able to order is Full Circle...
  3. Great Plains Labs does a ton of testing and is covered by some insurance. Anthem paid for part of my food intolerance test. I am not sure if they do genes...but they do do a lot of gluten/celiac testing etc. Open Original Shared Link
  4. I guess my own persisting question is---how do you know you didn't have a reaction? Perhaps I am more likely to ask that question b/c it was part of my experience as a Celiac...meaning, I could eat pasta and not notice any "reaction." I think unless one is doing follow-up blood work, biopsies etc, that it is possible one may have an adverse reaction to...
  5. Def adding this book to my Celiac "library"
  6. Sarah- Yes, this woman in the case had positive bloodwork and biopsy. Eventually her blood work returned to normal, and much of her symptoms disappeared, but until she stopped taking the wafers, her intestinal lesions persisted.

I do take it also for medical reasons, the cysts... I actually abhor condoms too, so it wouldn't be just my husband complaining. He is anti-meds, so I'm sure if I brought it up seriously and said I wanted to go off bc, he would support me. He has also volunteered to get the "snip snip" when we decide the time is right... I know not all ladies have a husband...

tiredofdocs- i am sorry to hear about all that... i've posted most of my ideas i will say i have a new psyllium that i really like--no D or gas etc....and the ones i had before did that...it seems to be 'gentle.' so you are 100% gluten-free? have you looked at other foods like dairy as a culprit? so you are going to follow-up on neuro damage?
  17. I'm not But Yvonne, screen name Bonnie is in S. Africa. Maybe you two can help each other...she's had a hard time being gluten-free where she is at....
  18. Bernadette may have to stay away from certain foods like clam chowder for a while...but if she wants to try it--there are several gluten-free rice milks I have used. 19. One place to start if you are suspecting certain foods is to keep a food journal. I did that and found links to issues with new foods--dairy, soy etc. I had a food intol. test several months after being gluten-free...a host of foods came back--and ones I never could have caught with a food journal. Alot of people get testing thru york allergy (yorkallergyusa...
  20. I also def. vote olive oil for the type of cooking you are talking about. If you really want to explore there are other unique oils like walnut and sesame to try too....
  21. After a month or two of being gluten-free, I began to experience horrible abdominal pain after eating. I had never really experienced this before going gluten-free, so it was a bit of a mystery. I explored several possibilities with my doctors--like gallbladder disease or stones and spincter of Oddi dysfunction. After several more months the pain went...
  22. Mine maybe took a few months to really disappear. Fiber like psyllium can also help with this. Also examine other foods you may eat besides gluten... ie. for me dairy exacerbates these symptoms.
