  1. Thanks for the ideas... I would say most of the corn products I've tried should be non GMO...any corn, corn meal, tortilla chips corn on cob, popcorn, all give me abdominal pain I can do small amounts from time to time, like tolerating some Lundberg rice chips that have some corn in them. I may try and experiment with a few brands/types...
  2. I lived in Langhorn...used to go to Peddler's Village Ever go?
  3. i used to adore graham crackers...will have to try this! thanks!
  4. cool judy--let me know how you like the recipe--its yummy talk to you soon!
  5. I bought some liquid smoke at the grocery, regular grocery store. can't remember the name, but it said gluten-free on the back. I'll try to check. ooo-mine was colgin too!
  6. Westsoy Rice Milk plain is okay too, Whole Foods and Wild Oats have gluten-free milk, Pacific (my least fav personally), Full Circle original rice milk too.
  7. I definitely will drop you a line--thanks!
  8. cool! i have a subscription...i'll look for it!
  9. Setbacks are the norm initially I'd say. It takes a tremendous amount of work and research to get rid of all your unsafe foods and products....and to figure out what those are! Be patient with yourself, and try to be hopeful too. For many people, some improvements come quickly, but substantial healing can take time.
  10. I am doubtful of a cure, and probably wouldn't trust it either...esp after reading Dangerous Grains and other research/articles... However, I would love to eat corn again some day!
  11. Glad you're feeling better--Go SCD! Rachel, curious to see what your doctor meant. Do tell when you find out. Parasites--I have to say I am farily skeptical of the idea usually...I think b/c it was proposed to me several times as the source of my issues pre-diagnosis. I even did an herbal parasite cleanse for several months just to be open minded...
  12. I loved Pamela's too... What is the website for Mona's? Wish someone would make a gluten-free/cf pancake mix
  13. That's cool! I used to live near there...wish we had some gluten-free pizza here in Indiana
  14. no issues with Tinkyada for me ever
  15. An excellent starting point is to buy "Wheat Free, Worry Free" by Danna Korn. It will educate you on Celiac, the gluten-free lifestyle, shopping etc. It will teach you quite a bit. Also, ck out these lists on forbidden and safe food for Celiacs/gluten intol, they are very helpful when starting out: https://www.celiac.com/st_main.html?p_catid=12 Also...
  16. Karen- I am finishing reading it right now. If she has an open mind, it just mind make a believer out of her! I haven't read through the appendix yet, but at times I feel like some of the evidence is weak at certain points, but either way, think the book is good and has influenced my thinking.

Hope it goes well and yes, feeling better will be great!
  18. That's a good question ! I guess I'd say it depends on the doc. You could try your conventional doc, but you may need to try more a holistic one. It's hard to say. You can investigate these types of things w/o a typical doctor's help though, so that's good. My last GI was familiar with it, but didn't really treat it as valid. Not that he disagreed....
  19. Carrie- So you do like the book? Did you read Dangerous Grains too? Are you trying to do the diet yourself?
  20. It can be hard when you have to keep pulling things out of your diet. My tests revealed I am intolerant of just about everything. I haven't cut out everything on the list...but I do have gluten, soy, dairy, caffeine, chocolate, turkey, corn (only a little bit on occasion). It takes discipline...and another suggestion is to take the focus off the food-...
  21. It would be worthwhile to read this short article, Challenging the Gluten Challenge...pros and cons: https://www.celiac.com/st_prod.html?p_prodid=1281
  22. Lactaid pills, chewable and regular (pills) are gluten-free. I used to take them. There was rumor at one time that they weren't...but they are, website and phone calls verify.
  23. printed if off, will read on lunch break
