  1. Bernadette- I do remember! So so glad you have been doing better finally... Anxiety is a hard thing. Quite a few years back I went through a bout of panic attacks--couldn't sleep, freaked out at night. It was miserable. Thankfully I was able to work through it...with the help of several things. 1. Plainly writing down what I was afraid of and then...
  2. I second Kaiti. US oats are not really safe, and even if they were, you may or may not react to them. Personally, I'm not interested in finding out and taking the risk. Have you ever tried cream of rice..similar to cream of wheat? That is my hot breakfast substitute. I think it is really good with brown sugar, some fruit if you like...yum!
  3. ah, what an frustrating burden to bear! working against your spouse is very tiring... i agree with a lot of what's been said here. i say approach both of them--appropriately explain to your daughter the situation and see if she can make 'good' decisions on her own. also do do do talk to your husband. even if your daughter makes the right choices, he...
  4. responses like crabtree's always frustrate me... when a company doesn't say anything specific. too bad every company doesn't have a "list" ! thanks for posting the info good to hear on alvita...i have some of their tea in my cabinet.
  5. I really like enjoylife's choc chip and snickerdoodles. they are free of the top 8 allergens and gluten-free! Open Original Shared Link i also love nana cookies--like the nana banana-yum! Open Original Shared Link i do like mid-el's products as well, but not sure if those are cf--you'll have to ck the labels.

  8. carrie-glad you're changing your products..that is a must. i have been gluten-free 9 mos, still have funky bms at times...it just takes quite a while for some of us. i had to go dairy free...figured out it makes me constipated. if you try soy, be aware, it can give people trouble too. i use rice milk and like quite a bit...some gluten-free ones: wild...

Kim- I don't have much info on depression--celiac links...but here's some potential info for you below.... I think there is clinical/medical type depression, where someone has a chemical type issue, but I think there is also depression brought on by dealing with a chronic illness, chronic pain etc. I think those are two different things and should be handled...
  11. Ha ha! Have to admit, soon as I saw the title, I started ‘brainstorming’ ideas to separate your rice cakes!
  12. I understand guilt is a natural reaction to your son’s struggle…but it seems like you are doing all you can at this point… If it turns out to be crohns, then definitely look at the SCD diet. Go here on amazon to read reviews of the book, and the countless people with crohn's, celiac that the diet has helped... Open Original Shared Link
  13. your poor son! unforutnately i don't know anything about that espophagtits... i did read it is usually connected to allergies. had your son tested? i wouldn't think lactose intolerance would be causing his vomiting. what is his diet like? i would recommend keeping a food/symptom journal if you haven't already. that has helped me figure out food/symptom...
  14. good luck with your surgery...hope its nothing to serious!
  15. okay, so this one isn't plain, but just got it in the celiac newsletter and thought i'd post in case someone flocked to the cheesecake thread and might like it Pumpkin Cheesecake with Butter Pecan Crust (Gluten-Free) Copyright © 1995-2004 Scott Adams. This recipe comes to us from Carolyn Mann. Preheat oven to 350F. Crust Ingredients:...

  17. That too!!
  18. hey girl! everyone's bodies respond differently... i have had celiac for years...but aside for anemia, my vitamin levels were normal. (at least the ones i had tested). so, its not too out of the ordinary. and it doesn't mean you have a 'lesser' version of the disease. your dangers are the same as the rest of us--potential shorter life span (yes!), cancer...
