Open Original Shared Link I am betting that ghee is on the list b/c it is an ingredient we should question to make sure, similar to 'natural flavors' Yvonne- woo hoo! who needs dairy anyway!? i will say my pref is rice milk. soy gives me issues. i think...
  2. Goliadman-- Are you able to order foods online? If so, I could recommend a ton...as for bread, one would be Kinnikinnick. (www.kinnikinnick.com) There is another thread going on here about how favored their breads are. My fav is the italian white tapioca. They also have other baked goods. I totally agree on Ener-g. They definitely win nastiest gluten...
  3. traveljunkie- ah! that company drives me crazy. their ingredients look okay...but i tried calling them FOUR times to be sure and each time they said they'd call me back and never did if you are looking for a similar product, ck out the may's nut snacks on gfpantry--they are the same kind of thing--really good! go here and scroll down to ck out...

In case you don't have these safe/forbidden ingredients lists they are a big help when shopping: https://www.celiac.com/st_main.html?p_catid=12 Let's see--what I eat on a typical day: Breakfast: gluten-free cereal with rice milk Snack: apple with natural peanut butter or natural honey Lunch: salad with lots of veggies, smoked...
  8. Bridge- so burt's doesn't even attempt at cleaning off their lines between? well, what the hell? that's idiotic!
  9. Yvonne- After being reminded of you C issue, I DEFINITELY recommend losing the dairy. Frankly, from what I've read this past year, dairy isn't as great as all the advertisements tell us! And, although the dairy industry pushes the "necessity" of consuming milk for health, its not hard to go without. However, I know you are in a bit of different situation...
  10. Jillian- Uh oh! Sorry you felt attacked by the responses on this thread! I wouldn't take any of it personally--I don't think anyone meant to hurt you. All I think is that this thread evidenced how cautious and guarded a lot Celiacs are. I know the sources you mentioned are highly credible. But, probably from experience, Celiacs can be cautious... ...

  16. I do agree on the radio show idea though... Anyone listen to NPR??
  17. First off, Rachel--like Kasey's Mom--I rec California Baby. Very gentle products--made for sensitive people and babies/kids. Their entire line is gluten-free, so no CC. I'm not sure if you've ever ran into my product list--a list of the gluten-free products I use (I can repost if you want...), but I also like Giovanni Organic Haircare--their whole line...
  18. those are some of the best kind of people
  19. hmmm, guess that would make it less credible of a program!
  20. I pretty much have the same reactions as Tiffany. Constipation is the biggie.
  21. I would hesitate to encourage any one to try oats unless they had a tangible way of measuring a reaction...meaning, there could be a reaction, but not one someone would pick up on. Sometimes our reactions can be pretty subjective too...so if I was going to try them (which I'm not at this point), I would make sure I had a concrete way of measuring potential...
  22. Lisa- I thought most Bath and Body Works lotions had oats in them... therefore they aren't gluten-free. I can't account for all their lotions, so perhaps there is one that is okay, but I think most have the oats in them.
  23. Yvonne- How are things are your side of the world?? First off, which type of test did you have done? Was it for a true milk allergy (IgE) or for a dairy intolerance (IgG)? You could have an intolerance and therefore it does not show up in a "true" allergy test. That is what I have. Second, could the heart beat be a result of the naseau? It can...
  24. I agree...sometimes things can't be 'conventionally' confirmed...but if your body hates gluten, that's all you need to know.
  25. Could it be related to anxiety or a panic attack? Do you get nervous around needles or before procedures? Also, I think this is less likely, but anesthetics can contain stabilizers that cause allergies. My dentist has several numbing solutions, and one contains and sulfa based stabilizer that I am allergic to, so they use another on me. I also doubt that...
