It's just too insane (criminal even) how long we all have been dicked around with and left hung out to dry....can I say "dicked around" on here?? DOUBLE JER

You sound pretty "clean" to me! It's funny, my one indulgence is potato chips, too...what's with the salt craving??? ditto on the drugs...any drugs like that do NOT help me---they make me worse? Now, what's up with THAT??!! Speaking of "safe" and clean...We make our bread and the only place we eat out is in an entirely gluten-free cafe. I got...
  7. Thanks so much, Raven...I figure any relief is a good sign. When this first started, I was burning so bad, it was horrific...and the parasthesia is widespread throughout. I will just be patient. I guess I am just angry that no one put 2 and 2 together....I'm working on that anger as well. As always, I appreciate your encouragement!
  8. Thanks for the thought, Luddie!! yes, I am on prescription strength Folic acid for anemia (I had a B-9 deficiency and it was found when I asked HIM to check it --geesh, who's the doctor here??!) ) and B-12 sublingual (since 2007) and all the Bs....on board! I agree, a lessening of pain would be great! IH

Me, too...that's when they reach for the pad to write antidepressants and anti-anxiety scripts ....like that's the answer. And I totally agree about the whole foods approach. Helped me immensely.

I am never surprised by what so-called educated "doctors" say or do anymore....I cannot even work up a... HUH?? ...but really, I would have shouted loudly ...ARE YOU KIDDING ME WITH THAT??? OMG there's POISON IN THE ROOM!! Man, gluten is like kryptonite to us....!
  17. Are you kidding??? No gluten is okay for a celiac. Certainly, you know this. If you never had a stomach problem, you have no "warning signal". When you ingest gluten, you kick up the autoimmune response. Stop it right now... and see if the weak legs go away. There's your answer. and a PS...my legs are weak from gluten and you have no idea what...
  18. Thanks, Marilyn! You give me hope. I do know someone who is giving me massages. Before going gluten-free, I could not stand being rubbed at all!! To use your 1-10 scale, with 10 being "just kill me now" I WAS a 10 until about 2 weeks ago and now, I am an 8...perhaps I am headed in the right direction? Thanks a bunch for the encouragement!
  19. Since Feb. 2008, I have been burning with neuropathic pain. The EMGs were "normal" of course and until I was recently DXed with Celiac, I was told there was "no reason" for the nerve pain I suffer with (from head to toe) and that I should take Neurontin and/or anti-depressants. (I do NOT) Some suggested it was "fibro" and to "live with it." I had 2 Neurologists...
  20. That's reassuring --as I had read that "mixed tocopherols" could be derived from wheat germ oil or soybean oil?--so I was carefully avoiding those. Naturally, I was leery of products like lipstick and lip-balm and those hand sanitizers as well because these tocopherols are often ingredients in those products. We had a hand lotion in the house that we finally...

  24. Oh boy, you sound like me...determined to figure it out...and that is a good thing, except it creates more stress and you do not need that. A few words of advice (I learned the hard way) (1) DON'T start taking iron unless you need it. You need to know IF you are deficient first. Anemia is caused by a B-12 deficiency, a folate def. OR iron def. You need...
  25. I had all the same symptoms you list and dozens more. I truly hear your pain in your words. Do NOT despair. Your continuing symptoms, given the fact that you are gluten free since last August, suggest possible nutritional deficiencies. Are you sure you're not still ingesting gluten somehow? You may be severely anemic. B-12, folate and iron deficiencies...
