Ditto for me. No soy or dairy and I need the protein from meat right now as I lost so much weight and muscle mass. My friend is a vegan/soy girl and has kept her MS at bay doing that. She's very healthy! Raw vegetables are still difficult for me to digest. I used to love snacking on cut up vegs all day long.. When I was very ill (preDX) I could not keep...

alopecia--hair loss in chunks. on the list. Those spots should grow back in. I tried things, but frankly, nothing helped. That has stopped now that I am gluten free... -

I know we discussed this after you returned from your trip and I meant to tell you..Barry's Irish Tea does NOT contain gluten. So, if you are looking for a delicious Irish tea...try that one. I have been to Ireland many times--pre-diagnosis --and cannot wait to return when I am well. We would retire there if we could. I am so glad you posted...

ARCHIVED Udi's Hot Dog Rolls Rock!
IrishHeart replied to jkmunchkin's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
thanks for this post. I was wondering if I could enjoy a hot dog on a roll again. -
Just FYI...Some people avoid Rice Dream. I stopped using it when I felt like I was being glutened somehow. The explanation from folks on here was that it was once processed with barley malt. They claimed they changed the recipe, but some still felt there is a low-level gluten issue. yeah, I made my own rice milk (pain in the butt) and it spoiled in two...

ARCHIVED Is Urgency A Symptom?

Sorry if I sent it twice. My bad. Took a few months, but no more gluten passing through and reduced inflammation stopped my butt from burning. Urinary tract infections and bladder pain --symptoms of celiac disease-- confirmed by my GYN. Also, burning girlie parts. Great fun. Hair loss is on the list. Lots of people have this issue on here. Me included... -

Maybe it is time to educate the family about celiac and put an end to the snarky comments? That way, you never have to be put in defensive mode again. Sometimes, people say things out of pure ignorance. I informed my whole family with some info via email-- and for those without internet, I printed off the info and mailed it. I think that helped them understand...

Some people can tolerate goat's milk, depending on how healed you are, of course. I personally LOVE it, but I am holding off for another month or so to try it. Goat's milk is believed to be more easily digestible than cow's milk. It has a bit less lactose, but still...if your villi are still blunted, even less lactose may be hard to digest. Only way...

Poor baby...that's awful. I read that it is often secondary to celiac...is that right? any chance you can tolerate fructose down the road??

KARL SAID: "Many people whom have a second disease, cannot tolerate the food and/or practices of those whom have only celiac Disease by itself." um... I THINK what he was trying to say here (I'm a former English Prof. and read a lot of papers in my day and often had to sort out the intentional meaning ) is..... that he THINKS he cannot adhere... -

ARCHIVED Had Some Gluten, But Feel Fine?
IrishHeart replied to Jennifer2's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I'd say you dodged a major bullet (hooray!) (boo! on the careless waitress ) If I get accidentally glutened now (I'm over 5 months gluten-free) I have a reaction about an hour later--like I have narcolepsy --absolutely pass out exhausted and cannot keep my eyes open. Like I have been drugged. This is strange, considering one of my major celiac... -
Wow..when a pharmacist balks at filling a prescription, that would get my attention. Here's a link to what the drug's side effects are--and the first few list gastro problems--now, why on earth would anyone want MORE gastro problems?? Open Original Shared Link Sounds like a pretty scary drug to me! DEFINITELY a 2nd or 3rd opinion!
