  1. I will volunteer for the testing phase they are having it in my area, but aren't recruiting yet. I would never take it other than as CC protection. I would put myself through the pain and suffering if they could come up with something that could prevent damage. It would be for my stubborn dad and sister who refuse to go gluten free even thou it will...
  2. I believe they have changed them all now to having wheat in them. The older boxes are gluten-free as the newer ones are not. I unfortunately have 2 of the new boxes I cannot eat. I figured that out about 2 months ago. I was PO'd person.
  3. I'm not sure about the monk aspect but my friend went to Bastyr it is located in WA state and is supposed to be one of the best in the country. I realize it isn't in NY. She went over to China to study for 6 weeks also at some point through the school. She is a nutritionist and acupuncturist. I can vouch for it, acupuncture really does work. Here is there...
  4. Well as you know she is a little "out there" and I would go as far as to say a flake. I remember one time I had eaten at the old location and I was trying to pay the bill. Her granddaughter (i believe) kept smacking her on the butt really hard, when she was trying to ring it up. She totally lost it and started screaming at her and telling her what a brat...
  5. "Wheatless In Seattle" is now "Da Vinci's" in Greenwood on Aurora Ave/ old HWY 99. It is now more or less a glorified yuppie-ish espresso cafe. With "lavender cake", foccocia breads, and other baked goods that are a bit "different" She still has pizza, but it's pre-made and usually something bizarre like eggplant with pepperoni and green peppers. I know some...
  6. My parents just got back from Neuvo Vallerta. My mom is gluten-free, and had no problems at all. She ordered a triumph gluten-free dining card in spanish just to be safe and it was no issue what so ever. They had a great trip.
  7. My daughter had her gallbladder taken out in Aug. (She is 16 y/o) I figured out what was wrong with her by her symptoms. No Dr. ever suggested it. First they gave her pills to break up the stones, which ended up being a worse situation than the attacks. She refused to have surgery. So she ended up getting really sick. She was hospitalized for 8 days and wasn...

    ARCHIVED Geographic Tongue

I have one, my dentists once made a comment to the hygentist that was helping her. I was like what the heck is that? She told me. I never noticed any problems with it really. I know I'm more sensitive to citric acid, orange juice, pineapple etc. I can't offer any advice about helping it.
  9. I'm coming into this thread kinda late, but here goes. I was diagnosed with celiac 19 years ago, was diagnosed with fibro in 2002. I have been tested for lyme, done the elimination diet etc. I have fibro and CFS I have ALL the symptoms. I was officially diagnosed with fibro about 6 months ago by a rheumatologist. He was very savvy on all the up to date...
  10. If you are talking about the big "shells" you stuff, then Tinkyada (SP)? makes some I have heard they are great never tried the big shells but I use the spaghetti, lasagna and macaroni noodles. I have never had any problems with them.
  11. The only website I saw on her page had to do with a a boy and a heart procedure. Am I missing something? I would love to know what this product is also.

    ARCHIVED Tapioca?

My b-f reacts to tapioca flour. However tapioca starch does not seem to bother him. Weird huh?
  13. The living without mag is great. The gluten free mag is a joke. I received only 2 of the 4 isssues and after the second issue came they sent me a letter asking me to renew my subscription saying it was my last issue. WTF? Never got a reply to my phone call or e-mail. I won't waste my money there ever again.
  14. Check out Manna Mills in Mountlake terrace. They have a huge selection of gluten-free stuff. Stuff like dinner rolls tons of different types of mixes and even "oreos" (they taste like the real deal.
  15. I'm saddened to hear this news, but not at all surprised. She was in her 80's or 90's. She brought more hope to my bleak celiac life than anyone. I remember when her first gourmet cookbook came out I was so excited!
  16. Kinininick (SP?) makes a gluten-free graham cracker crust. It tastes like the real thing. They have a website if you can't find them locally.
  17. Colic can't be the first sign of celiac. I breastfed my son and he had colic. I was gluten-free then and so was he.
  18. My dad has RA, my mom, my sister and myself have FM. The RA tests are not always 100% accurate. A fairly straight forward FM website is www.fibrohope.org. Either way you have to be examined to be diagnosed with either. Good luck with the ongoing battle of trying to get yourself healthy.
  19. Yikes! good to know, thanks for the warning. I will steer clear of there if I ever make it out that way.
  20. I second the kinninick graham cracker crust. It really tastes like the real thing.
  21. The reason I feel you were bashing on me was, you specifically quoted me to discredit every thing I said. You could have said something to the effect of you can try the product if you choose, but to me it's not worth a stomach ache. Stating your opinion, does not prove or disprove whether the product works. I may not have any proof it works, but you...
  22. I really don't understand it myself. I was simply stating that I do take it on occasion and I get bashed for it. Like I said, I take it as a it can't hurt (other than the wallet) perspective also. It does not claim it is a cure for celiac disease! Thank gawd someone else understands what I am saying. Even if they did come out with a enzyme that would make...
  23. I haven't been to Port Angeles in years, so I may not be much help. But here is a few suggestions. Fred Meyers tends to carry allot of gluten-free foods. If you request certain products most of the time they will get them in for you. Sometimes they may require you to buy the whole case, however. Bremerton, (i know a bit of a drive) has a place that makes...
  24. Tom , I was not agreeing with the "shill". I was in no way even acknowledging him or his comments. And I sure as hell don't appreciate you bashing on me. I was stating that I have and do take it as a precaution, because it can't hurt. I was also referencing another thread that was talking about this exact same product. Here is a link to the other thread...
  25. For the record I do take glutenease as a precaution when I eat out. I figure it can't hurt if there is CC. I have never gotten sick when I took it, but who knows if there was any CC. I certainly would not take it to eat a gluten filled pizza etc. on purpose. On the bottle it also recommends taking another enzyme with it. I take the "gold digest" enzyme...
