  1. The only difference I can tell with k-toos is the "stuff' isn't as greasy and they don't leave that disgusting grease film on the roof of your mouth. Which is a huge bonus if you ask me.
  2. Yes there are a few of us around here. Since you are new, I thought I would tell you about a store in Montlake Terrace (just North of Seattle). Most of the stuff they carry is gluten free. I make a trip there about once a month. They carry doughnuts, noodles, cookies, pizza crusts, etc. They are a bit spendy, but it's nice to know you have options for gluten...
  3. I don't know if they have a hard percentage number, but it is very common. Scientist for years have thought all the auto-immune diseases are linked to celiac plus many other things. They have even linked schizophrenia with celiac. A interesting book to read that talks about this is called Dangerous Grains, can't remember the author right now. My mom is borrowing...
  4. Prevacid forces your stomach to make more stomach acid. It basically eliminates the acid and forces your body to think uh-oh better make a whole bunch.
  5. Phillips lemon chicken and the Singapore street noodles and of course the chocolate flourless dome is delicous.
  6. My dad has that, but refuses to go gluten free. I am pretty sure it would be a night and day difference. I also would love to read any info any one might have.
  7. It was right after Christmas, since I remember she got hers for a Christmas present.
  8. I don't know if they are gluten-free or not but thought I would share my experience with them. My daughter had one and it attracted and grew 100's of fruit flies. We had to throw it out. There was a huge swarm of them.
  9. Because it is cheaper than corn starch right now.
  10. I just started taking the pills today (Sat). I have been in twice now. They did the initial screening then had me come back to give me the supplies. I believe they are doing the dosage side of things, but they are also checking the permeability. It is in phase 2, so I would imagine they are checking a wider array of people to see if there is any unreported...
  11. I am currently participating in the alba phase 2 testing of this drug. They have clearly stated it is at this point for accidental CC etc. not for the use of someone going out and purposely eating a pizza etc. They are hoping to be able to stop the leaky gut permeability.
  12. I would be in heaven! We have one in our area too. Never heard of a gluten-free pizza, then again I usually just throw out the flyers without looking at them. That would be so great....
  13. I used to get sick every time I turned around. I literally got every thing. I do believe it was a weakened immune system from celiac. I have been gluten free for 20 years now, and was still sick up until about a year and a half ago. I went through about 6 months of acupuncture, and it turned my immune system completely around. When I do get sick anymore...
  14. I have heard this is caused by a vitamin A deficiency. Being a celiac you are usually deficient in fat soluble vitamins.
  15. I also like cream of buckwheat as well as the cream of rice.
  16. I signed up for it and I do get super sick. But I am willing to do it, if it will help people like my dad and my sister, who are too stubborn to go gluten free. When I talked to them on the phone there is an 80% chance you will get gluten and of course a 20% chance you won't. They are testing at this point to see if it would help with CC and even symptoms...
  17. Ah yes the good old stalker problem, I have had that very same problem. I thought changing my name would help, LOL nope. It says what your former name was and it will pull it up on google. I have considered starting a new user name, and then remaining completely anonymous.
  18. I made gluten-free stuffing for the first time, since there is now 3 celiacs in the family. I had never done it before since I was the only gluten-free one. I simply bought the the kinninick gluten-free croutons and added chiclen broth to it, let it soak it up for about 1 0 minutes then I microwaved it. A couple of family members ate it instead of the...
  19. I never use any flour at all and have never had a bag blow up. LOL I always thought is was because the bag might stick...
  20. I use the no boil method and put just sauce on the bottom layer. I think it takes about 45 min. to an hour to cook it doens't turn out dry at all. I have never tried putting foil on it either. So I don't now if it would make a difference or not.
  21. I used to ride it out, sometimes I would end up in the ER for dehydration, since I would have both ends going. I don't get that sick anymore since i went to acupuncture. I suggest imodium (not the liquid kind, I think it has gluten in it). It will slow the D or completely stop it.
  22. They call is spastic colon when your gut gets messed up from stress and or nerves. IBS is just a name for a collection of symptoms that basically say, yup you got a problem with your stomach but we don't know what it is.
  23. The FDA requires that it is listed whether or not any meat has had anything added to it. Not all self basting turkeys have gluten in them, that is an old myth. You need to check with each company on a case by case purpose. You may also want to buy a turkey breast and cook it sepperatly.
  24. Maybe add a little salt in the mix? I personally don't like any of Bob's mixes, I have some flour left over that I mix a little into others to try and get rid of it. I don't like the taste of the garbanzo bean flour.

    ARCHIVED Geographic Tongue

I just remembered, that an acupuncture DR. always asks to see your tongue. My geographic issues cleared up when I was going to acupuncture. It has since returned, I haven't been in over a year, I should go back to see her, but don't have the extra funds right now.
