I'd call or check out a website to find out what is and isn't gluten free. I personally wouldn't risk the CC of dipped ice cream because clean scoop or not it's possible there has been some CC from a formerly rinsed scoop. Did the doctor actually diagnose you with celiac? Was his opinion about your intestine based on the biopsy results or just what he could see during the procedure? I'm mostly confused. Why would he prescribe prilosec for an allergy when he doesn't even know what that allergy is? To answer one question, yes, going gluten free before a biopsy will skew the results...

If dinner isn't really about eating why does the manager have to have the meeting at a restaurant. There is absolutely no reason for any of us to be required to show up somewhere and watch other people eat. It can be especially emotionally difficult early on. I can tell you that there is absolutely no way in hell I would be bullied by someone into doing so...

Not sure if you have the option available, but it definitely cheaper to do the refillable water bottles. I know Wal-Mart has the water stations (at least all I've been to) and some grocery stores too. Usually somewhere in the back (Wal-Mart) or out front on the sidewalk (groceries back home in PA). My daughter is planning on attending MIT. You can opt for a dorm there that doesn't have a dining hall (the only way not to be forced into paying for prepared meals) and simply prepare all of your own meals in the kitchen. There is of course a chance of CC sharing a kitchen like that but at least you know how your food was prepared.
