  1. Hey, I had just rolled out of bed and was doing my early morning bleary eyed roll by. I didn't stop to think that I could be misunderstood. Yes, the chicken was gluten free a week ago. It is great. You can just have chicken for dinner by throwing together a few quick sides and then you can pick off the easy to get rest of it for chicken salad or something...
  2. Maybe we should have a pool party?
  3. Over and over again as I check for interactions between my medications and supplements I see that it says not to take anything containing calcium with anything else. It explains that the reason for this is because taking calcium with other medications or supplements can cause you not to absorb them. I've also seen on meds (I read everything about them I can...
  4. I also will not use Rice Krispies brand. They taste like crap. I prefer any other brand at all if I am making plain treats, which I rarely do. I usually make chocolate ones and through the fall and winter especially can make fun ones. I get the pumpkin or peppermint marshmallows and the Cocoa Pebbles and the treats are absolutely to die for. My husband says...
  5. Sounds like something I would do! It would have to be one of us right? I have some chicken to cook for dinner but those waffles sound really good too. Maybe I should have chicken and waffles...
  6. There was more bread than I could count Thursday night. When I went back Friday afternoon there was maybe a dozen loaves left. The tag said close out sale so I am assuming that now that I found it and love it I will never buy any again. I suppose I should get over this because it is as nutritionally useless... where the bread I get at Costco has a veritable...
  7. In all the time I spend here, my husband has never noticed the bacon before. Last night he looks up and gets this "look" in his eyes and is like.... "I want dancing bacon" in the most pathetic adorable way. I know it is unoriginal at this point and I probably sound like a broken record, but we're doing burgers tonight. I'm sure I'll think of something...
  8. Before you go donating expensive cast iron pans to charity, they do not need to be replaced. You can strip them and reseason them. This is the method I use which creates a coating very much like a non-stick pan. This is great especially for heirloom cast iron and will keep it in good shape for years to come. Just keep in mind that the same rule still applies...
  9. I love love love pickling things too! Sadly I can't eat them, but people rave about them and they make awesome gifts. Last summer just before I found out I can't "do" pickles any more I did I think 60 pints and 20some quarts of pickles. I found out before they were ready that I can't touch them. I've never pickled straight garlic but the pickles are always...
  10. Aren't GCs all just huge buffets? There isn't any chance at all I would ever eat at one. Period. They have so many gluteny items that there isn't a thing there I would trust. When my best friend graduated college and got her Master's in accounting everyone went there to celebrate. I stopped at my favorite bakery and picked up a cupcake and arepa to eat. They...
  11. I guess I've got the opposite point of view on this one. If you are going because you care about your brother, I don't understand why you wouldn't want to go to his rehearsal dinner. Rehearsal dinners are not about food, they are about family and friends and socializing. I agree with the sentiment that the restaurant was probably picked either with budget...
  12. If you use the FAQs on their website which is almost always the most reliable way to get quick information from any company who makes this sort of information available, it is listed. I simply typed "gluten" into the FAQ search box and this is the reply I got after selected Oral Care Products: We certify that all Colgate Toothpastes...
  13. What she offered was not an apology. There has been blitzing going on, and not just the email kind where it is private. That is silly and pointless. The blitzing needs to be done where it publicly calls them out, and that is what has been happening.
  14. It never occurred to me that there is anything wrong with someone who just doesn't hold eye contact. I never have, I just hate looking at people's eyes. Creeps the hell out of me. A lot of the traits of Asperger's could apply to me if I felt like sitting down with a shrink. I am perfectly well adjusted and until celiac robbed my life from me was holding down...
  15. Oh he is all kinds of in.
  16. Everyone should look. Anyone who can look at a picture of a giraffe baby and not smile has no heart imo.
  17. Also awesome chips. All the best ones come from PA.
  18. They were the only brand I could ever stand to eat plain, unflavored chips without dip. Now I need to call my mom and make her mail me a bag. Or 2. Or... more.
  19. I found a video of the babies! Open Original Shared Link
  20. OMG ITS TWINS!!! I so need money for a road trip.
  21. I have no idea what is wrong with potato chips. Of course, after my parents divorced and I left the family farm I finished growing up in the town that produces Wise potato chips which are still far and away my absolute favorite. Sadly they are only available regionally as a general rule. (I once found an entire pallet of them at a Wal-Mart in Utah. I am embarrassed...
  22. Pineapple mint?!? I never heard of that!!! I need to get out more obviously. I'll bet it smells absolutely divine.
  23. Just a note on why the recipe posted on the website isn't what is served in the restaurant. As a general rule restaurants consider their recipes to be proprietary information. Employees who will have access to these recipes may even have to sign NDAs. (I had to at more than one restaurant.) There is not a snowball's chance in hell a restaurant as large as...
  24. Since you didn't say no dairy or no eggs, these are a great "dinner roll" option. I love them and they aren't something adapted to be gluten free, they are a food that was born gluten free. For warning, egg substitutes absolutely do not work. I have tried several different things as subs, none work because the eggs are what fluff the rolls, they aren't simply...
