  1. Hi, I saw that you visited my profile. I read your post today where you were frustrated and confused. I hope that things get better for you.

  2. I'm sorry you're feeling so crappy. I've been following some of those threads
  3. I've not been feeling good for the past couple of weeks and it's really starting to make me doubt whether I'm on the right path. It seemed to start with a trip I took a month ago when I was cc'd over and over. Well then I pet-sat and received glutteny kisses from 2 dogs as they were still chewing their treats. Then it was my conditioner, then it was the dog...
  4. Thank you! This is what I was attempting to say but couldn't nearly get it out as clearly as you have.
  5. Do you have any articles you could direct me to, to substantiate these statements? This thread indirectly deals with the digestion of gluten proteins...if you are interested. As far as donation and the above logic – I don't know many newly or un-dx'ed Celiac's who would be up to giving blood (presumably the less recently dx'ed ones would have less d...
  6. No problem! Well that's good that she didn't have a negative reaction
  7. That's why it gets digested and metabolized before entering the blood stream.
  8. Maybe he didn't floss?
  9. I'm sorry that you aren't feeling better. Stupid gluten... Fingers crossed that it passes quickly.
  10. I've had issues with the Pamela's flours, too! I've only eaten the bread flour and pancake mix both of which bothered me. (the pancake mix does not have sorghum but it does have buttermilk and milk is definitely an issue for me).
  11. Well first of all, I think you are in the right place! There is so much information here – beyond what you'd even dream of finding. Sometimes what helps me is to document the pain and look for patterns of frequency and/or intensity (increasing/decreasing) over a month or two. You almost helps to think of the doctor's as a resource vs. the be all a...
  12. I apologize in advance if I go on a bit of a rant as the topic of being "different" is one I am acutely aware of. Ask yourself though: was it really the food that made those experiences so special? Sentiment can be found anywhere
  13. I hope you continue to feel better, Prickly! Gotta love the unexplained, sudden stomach/abdominal pain. I agree with Dani
  14. I think our doctors have gone too far with the gut–head connection...
  15. IgE testing does not test for intolerances. The IgE antibodies are involved in "true" allergies (histamine response(s)
  16. That brings me back.
  17. "Blooble dii bodobi cyiksh" is much easier to say.
  18. And that's BEFORE they walk in and ask, "So how are you?"
  19. Poor guy is never going to live that one down. Luckily he lives with people who also have the same problem...
  20. Hi Dani – I am a gymnast and can totally relate to the constant "should I keep going, or stop" type questions. I recently started talking methyl b12 lozenges (after my serum b12 came back low) and have noticed a HUGE difference in my muscle strength. I mean, like night and day difference! I don't have much advice as far as recovery goes because I still h...
  21. My brother was very colicky as a baby, so much so that my mother decided to take him to the doctor. The doctor's advice? Don't bring him on your good carpets.
  22. That is sad! I was hoping to do the genetic testing through them this summer. Guess not.
  23. Aww, I so relate to this. Or when you go upstairs only to realize you've forgotten what you went up there for. Then halfway down the steps you remember, go back up and get it, but then drop it 5 times before you actually are able to pick it up. My father (who might have gluten problems but is in denial) is famous for this. At one point he called a pitcher...
  24. Somehow I thought I was the only one that did this!! I just love peoples reactions:
  25. You could try keeping a journal to share with him? A lot of people seem to respond better when there is some kind of documentation (as terrible as it sounds!). This could maybe provide some insight for him as to how you are feeling on a day to day basis when he isn't around to witness it. What you're thinking, the changes you've noticed physically, emotionally...
