  1. Has anyone done much research into this restarunt? <Open Original Shared Link They used to be one of my fav restaraunts to go to.... I've emailed them. Got a bit of a reply. I'll post later. Just wondering if any others out there eat there. This used to my my favorite rest. God I miss eating out(without thinking... too much...)
  2. When I was first diagnosed I remeber by dad telling me that red #40 and yellow #5 had gluten. But then I have found lots of foods and candy that are gluten free, and have both. I think its Jolly Ranchers that have both, and eat those all the time(they are gluten-free) So I'm not sure where that originally came from. I'm sure there could be ones that...
  3. Downsizing your photo can be easy. If you have the right software. It ends up mattering to what OS, or in Windows case, what version. I think most windows have Microsoft Photo Editor. You can open the picture with that. Sometimes, just resaving it with its settings for jpg's reduce's enough. As many camera's and the like save the jpg witihout any compression...
  4. Really? I always felt that gluten free doughts where much much more thick. When I got my mixer(650 watt kitchen aid) I was told not to buy the less powerful one as the dought was much tougher on the mixer. That comes from my mom who does make a ton of both breads. Though, I hadn't made bread in about 10 years until I became gluten-free so I am not the best...
  5. I've had Mission reply to me a few different times(I kept forgetting... doh) They state that all their corn tortillas, soft and crunchy(including the corn chips) are made in a separate facitly that does not contain wheat. I just noticed a couple days ago, that the last pack of Mission soft corn tortillas, and the tortilla corn chips, but now state Gluten...
  6. I got a reply fro B&G a*Aug 31, 2005", they are the parent company of Ortega. They issue the following about Ortega( it says ORTEGA All Products, as it was in a big list of all the brands they sell) ORTEGA All Products Ortega has been following a strict labeling policy with regard to any allergens in our foods and incoming ingredients. We have...
  7. My favorite, is from San-J(Open Original Shared Link) They have a great gluten-free Tamari sauce Check out... Organic Wheat Free Tamari Soy Sauce and Organic Reduced Sodium Wheat Free Tamari Soy Sauce They say wheat free, but I have called them before and that also then say they are gluten-free.
  8. Carrabas, I think I remeber this, is owned by the same people Outback is. Its an Italian style place. They sent me a pdf of the menu awhile back. They have a pdf gluten-free menu online. Open Original Shared Link
  9. I keep meaning to drive down their to try it out. I've grown lazy to driving. I used to commute 60 miles on freeway each day one way. Now, I am too lazy to drive the 15 miles via freeway to try out Deby's. maybe I'll go tomorrow or something. I have the day off...
  10. Yes, "All Pace Red Sauces" are gluten free. I'm quoting their gluten free list. I just got a Campell's(makes Pace and other thing) gluten free list. They mailed it to me. I'll type it in. ---- Campells Gluten Free Producrts Mail list as of Dec 21st, 2005(they mailed me this) Brand: Chunky Soup Chicken Broccoli Cheese, 18oz Brand: Select Soup...
  11. I can't remeber when this started, recently I think. But all the forum pages have this "Loading. Please Wait..." message, that never goes away. Its sorta located at the top. Here's a quick bread down of the area that I am asking about [X] My Assistant Loading. Please Wait... <here is a little activity bar, kind of a "cylon red eye thing" that...
  12. I'm guessing its not. Its wheat free I suppse, but I'd stay away because of the barley sounding things. For any vitamans and the like. I've just decided to stick with Nature's Made stuff. www.naturemade.com They clearly say gluten free on everything they have that is gluten free.
  13. I do both. Here(cnear Boulder, CO) we basically have coops, Whole Foods, Wild Oats, and Vitamin Cottages. Decent selection yes. Even the Safeways, King Soopers(kroger), and Albertsons carry plenty. But I still order online. I ususally check out the 4-5 local stores, if they have the product, I figure in the cost of shipping. Sometimes, its better...

    ARCHIVED Outback

I avoided Outback for a long time, as I heard things I didn't like about the company and politics(National politics...) Anyways. I broke down. I really felt like having a "down home, american style dinner":meaning steak and potatoes. I have great mexican, chinese, and Indian restaraunts that know me by sight, and make me trust them when I ask for a gluten...
  15. Congrats on the job, I generally always "forget" my lunch on the counter at home everytime I go to work. I actually do this about 99 percent of the time. I'm horrible... Anyways, we have a microwave at work avaialble, I figure most work places have one somewhere you can use. I usually just buy some good gluten-free canned things, and have a drawer or...

  17. My understanding of the new 2006 labeling, the one requring companies to list the major allergens in their food had to be started by Jan 1st, 2006. If that is true(is it?) I am really surprised how many labels I find in the store today that still don't have that. Is it mearly that all labels printed out for things after Jan 1st have this rule? I'm still...
  18. I've been eating the Progresso Chicken and Rice soup almost everyday at work. They confirmed it by phone for me, and also stated that it would be clearly listed on the label. The Chicken and Wild Rice is also gluten-free.
  19. Heck, I was just buying litter the other day when I noticed.... they are selling an alternative to traditonal cat litter. Its basically a box full of wheat. Seriously, it says "wheat is better, its natural, for you and your cat..." Check it out! Open Original Shared Link Does anyone have a list/response from BW3 on things that...
  20. Its not a condensed mushroom soup. But Progresso(General Mills) has a "Creamy Mushroom" Soup. I actually use it for a few different casseroles. Its a bit runny yes, I will try to let it simmer down a bit. Though I usuall simmer it up with a choppped up baked potatoe and the potatoe helps absorb the excess "soup"iness of it.
  21. Yes, I thank the Hormel food company every day. I have a drawer at work with like 10 cans of Hormel chili and 10 cans of Dinty Moore beef stew. They are both great quick food items that don't cost much either really. Careful though, Hormel Chili HOT and another one are not gluten-free. I think it is the HOT anyways. I just buy the normal or the less sodium...
  22. In my quest to make a great home made burrito. I must have black beans(I'm lazy I want canned) My fiance has like 8 different cans of black beans. So I can tell straight off they are not gluten-free. And some I have no idea. Anyone know of some good canned black beans that are gluten-free?
  23. I know Mission makes great corn tortillas, and I trust them too as I have never got sick and they supposidly have separate manufactoring and all.. But I can only find corn torillas here that are a max of 6 inches or so. Does anyone, Mission maybe, sell big tortilla shells made gluten free? I know there have to be some. Because when I used to live in...
  24. If I remeber right, I think Malt o Meal makes most all the grocery store brands. Safeway and Kroger's I remeber hearing. It would kind of make sense, because within a month of Malt o meal adding wheat, I suddently noticed both Safeway and Kroger brands had wheat added within a month or so.
  25. Interstinly enough Vanilla isn't on Tone's gluten free list. I had sent an email back to them awhile ago, at that time asking about spice islands spices, and they sent back and Word Doc containing what spices Tune's/Durkee/Spice Islands were gluten-free. Their vanilla isn't on there. For any of the above metioned brand. THough vanilla beans are.
