  1. I have too many natural food store choices here. Vitamin Cottage, Whole Foods, and Wild Oats, a few others that aren't chains too(there are 4 Wild Oats, and 1 Whole foods within about 10 miles of my house.. Of those, Vitamin Cottage is always the cheapest. They have my favorite Enviro Kids gluten-free rice crispy bars for only like $2.25 a box, they are ...
  2. Not a mix per say, the recipe forum may have better answers. But premade, I know people really like Chebe' bread. Also, S'Better Farms makes Gluten Free corn dogs. I've been dying to try some, but nobody carries them around where I live. Open Original Shared Link
  3. I was there in January on vacation(Honeymoon actually) I used to live there and missed some of my favorite places. I had really good luck at The Stinking Rose, a pretty fun garlic restaraunt. Its a little spendy, but it also can be a good bet because its in a "night life" type area where there are lots of clubs and places to go, so a fun place to go with...
  4. As a snack, I buy bags of dried apricots, Sunsweet brand, as I have them in my desk at work. Lots of fiber in dried apricots. They last a good amount of time.
  5. Mentioning chips being fried in the same oil. I had the most amazing exp at a little Mexican restaraunt down the street from my house. My wife and freinds went there, and I just told the waitress I could not have anything. I explained why, and she said something that almost made me fall over... "Well would you just like some corn chips and salsa? Oh wait...
  6. I wouldn't worry too much. I ate it for a long time and it didn't bother me. This was when I was very sensitive. However, I would switch. I do know that Yoplait states their's is gluten free. I don't like it as much as Dannon, but thats what I get now. I really think it is jut the company doing a typical CYA statement(cover your a...) Lots of companies...
  7. Advil is gluten free, I've checked with some generics and they are too. Advil was the only thing that ever help me with headaches and so on. I can't take it anymore as I take blood thinners and it basically magnifies that. Aspirin/Aleve etc is out too, same thing. I'm basically stuck with Tylenol. I do actually have Vicoden for the really bad knee pains...
  8. The kari-out brand is not bad. I always get a few at a local "fast food" place called Tokyo Joe's. I generally bring my own from San-J, but like having a few small packets to have at work and so.
  9. My favorite saltine like cracker is "Engr G Wheat Free Crackers" They have a lot of different ones, but this is the only one I really like. Open Original Shared Link They say rice free too. It was the closest thing I have found to a saltine. The hardest thing for me going gluten free was the lack of saltine crackers. I always ate so many of them. Heck...
  10. If they have them where you are, I eat the Mission Tortilla chips. I think they are great, they even brand Gluten Free on the bag. Now, there is contention in that, as they stopped for awhile. As they are made in a non gluten-free facility. Here's there FAQ Open Original Shared Link They also have a bit more fat in them than more of the big name brands...
  11. Wow... after making that last post my wife and I went to Outback. I had yet the best service ever. I think this Outback has a really smart, probably Celiac friend/relative. It was really great, I really credit the waitress. She was great. So it went like this. 1. We sat down, I ordered a drink and asked for the Gluten Free menu(at this site I've never...
  12. Oh I was going to add this to my earlier post. The reason the gluten-free menu doesn't have any prices, is becaues they make one for everywhere. There are many things on that menu that the store might not have, as its a regional thing. And since its also regional, prices are different wherever you go.
  13. Did you be sure to say get the shrimp on the barbie with no breading? Though, you probably would have noticed the breading. I also ask that they make sure not to fry(pan) it with other shrimp Do talk to them though, its good to give feedback. Maybe just go out and order a Margarite when its not so busy and ask to speak to a manager. I'm always paranoid about...
  14. I got a reply from my wife. Watercourse foods (206 East 13th Avenue, Denver, CO 80203. 303-832-7313) has some stuff also Wholly Tomato (955 Lincoln St., Denver, CO 80203. 303-860-0041) I've heard that Wholly Tomato is a bit of a chance, a few threads on here about that place.. have not heard anything much about Watercourse...
  15. Same answer from me. I haven't eaten at place in downtown Denver. But there is a completely gluten free restaurant/bakery in south Denver called Deby's gluten-free. Its not that far south, you'd want a car though. 2369 S Trenton Way, Suite M Denver, CO 80231-7628 Open Original Shared Link Also, I haven't tried it yet, buy smack dab down in downtown...
  16. This was so cool. Last week a friend of mine mentioned that the brewer at a CB & Potts( a restaurnt/brewery) had release his own gluten-free beer. Its on tap! If your in Colorado, its in 555 Zang St., Broomfiled, CO, 80020-1010 Open Original Shared Link I just sampled some last night. Didn't make me sick or anything. My friend and I just missed...
  17. I called once and asked about the Walgreen's brand Benadryl, it was gluten-free. I was having severe allergy problems at the time, and was taking alot of them. I got a bottle of 200 for around 10 dollars. Brand name was something l like 5 bucks for 24 pills...
  18. Of the prepackaged, I like Hillshire Farm the best. Jenny O second. Oscar Meyer, I've never really cared for. All 3 are gluten-free, at least the Roast Beef and Turkey ones I buy. There ends up being so many different kinds so I'd still check. Actually about 30 minutes ago I just finished a roast beef, colby jack, cheder, bacon sandwich on toasted...
  19. Yes, this same Panda brand is available also at "Tokyo Joe's - Fast Food, Japanese" I think it is just around in Colorado, USA Open Original Shared Link But I still like that they got it around. I usually bring in my own Terriyaki suace(Premier Japan) and use a bit of both on just plane white chicken/rice bowl.
  20. I'm "random sensitive" to gluten. Meaning, one day I broke down and ate a double quarter pounder with cheese(bun included), follwed by McNuggets. Then about 2 hours later I ate like a 12 peice bucket of KFC chicken. Never got sick. But a few other times, months apart, I have eaten a salad, and found part of a crouton in it, and got really sick. All I really...
  21. If you not around this store, bear in mind that wings are really fairly easy to make your self at home, if you have a grill. I much prefer grilled wings over fried ones. Best made as follows. 1. Throw wings on grill. 2. Begin to prepare suace, unsalted butter and Franks does a nice trick, heat it on your stove top. 3. Once wings are 90 percent done...
  22. One thing to note, I was diagnosed as lactose intolerance. Then later gluten. After cutting the gluten off for a long time, I thought of trying milk/cheese again. What the hey, I was fine with that. I think there are a lot of people out there that where originally told lactose was the problem. Its hard to test with a kid, but I just decided to try it out...
  23. I've had the "Creamy Mushroom", "Chicken and Wild Rice", and "Chicken and Rice" and never felt bad. By the way, the Creamy Mushroom is great if you fry it up with ground beef and chopped up potato. I really don't like mushrooms, but the sauce makes the beef/potato taste so good.
  24. Herbox(Hormel) Bouillian cubes are gluten-free. At least I know the veg, beef, and chicken ones are. I also use them all the time. They are on Hormel's gluten-free list as well. Hormel's gluten-free list Open Original Shared Link They have some good things on there. I heard a rumor that the CEO of Hormel has children that are Celiac, and he pushes...
  25. Here is my a fairly recent gluten-free list from Tones/Durkee/Spice Islansts Taken from Word document they sent me. --- Our Spices are inherently gluten free. The items listed are safe for those who avoid gluten in their diet, because they contain only spices or non-gluten products. Tone
