  1. I would love to be able to eat Captain Crunch, or Honeycomb for that matter( I had both in large quanties before I was diagnosed...) What does suck, is so many of these cereals are "almost" gluten free, other than malt or something like that. Cocoa and Fruity Pebbles are gluten free, at least in the US. Trix and Cocoa Puffs are sometimes gluten free. It...
  2. Here's a list I have put together, have only tried new Grist and Redbridge, these are the ones that I know are at least sold some places in the US. New Grist Open Original Shared Link Bard's Tale Open Original Shared Link Yunpu Beer (link seems broken right now...) Open Original Shared Link Rampo Valley, Passover Honey Beer Open Original...
  3. Arghh... so. today marks the 3rd Friday in a row this year I couldn't leave my house, unless in a Humvee... I live near Boulder, CO, USA, contrary to lots of ideas across the US, we really don't get much snow here. Untill NOW! The worst part... is I live in a cul-dec-sac(I'll trade it for the one in Knots Landing...) They only have like one snow...
  4. They were selling it here, in Louisville, CO for 6.99 a six pack. And had New Grist for 6.39. They offer case discounts. Thought I did talk to the store owner, sounds like the brewers of both places are raising the prices. Though... it did feel really really.... really cool. to be able two buy two different kinds of beer for myself! The clerk even said...
  5. If they have Progresso Soup in your local grocery stores, Progresso makes a real good "Creamy Mushroom" soup. Its gluten-free and vegetarian. Nice size chunks of mushrooms, and a nice thick sauce.
  6. Premier Japan, owned by Edward and Sons, makes a wheat free teriyaki sauce. I checked in on it a few months back and it was gluten free too. However, for some reason, all the stores around here stopped carrying it. I asked one store and they just said they didn't sell enough of it to keep it in stock. Open Original Shared Link
  7. I just tried it too, picked it up along with some New Grist, which I have had often before. I wasn't too impressed with the Redbridge... tasted like Budweiser to me. Which, before celiac, was always the worse tasting beer to me. Though, I didn't care for New Grist exactly when it came out either. I'll give it a few more chances. Still hoping to try Bard...
  8. My local liquor store owner said his distributer keeps saying "next week" but hasn't gotten it yet. So, still waiting. Although I did hear some disappointing news, effect is almost opposite of what I thought. Lakefront Brewery is raising the price on New Grist beer, now that there is broader competition. Huh? The guy at the liquor store, called up...
  9. Brand name will always help, as they know their stuff. Though, myself, I just can't afford it. I do have many prescriptions... GREATLY depending on the pharmacist, they can be a good help to determine the ingrediants of the generics. Fortunatly, I have a great phamacist, or a few at my location. They help out, even check out the ingredients before they...
  10. Cool, I will check them out. My dad is celiac, he's an "elder celiac", i.e. a really smart Dr. "guessed" at it in 1951. I know he'd love more "treats" I'm a bit spoiled here, near Boulder, CO. There like maybe 8 whole foods/wild oats/natural grocery stores within a 10 mile radius of my house. I always try to bring him something back for Christmas.
  11. Oh cool, I am flying to MN for Christmas, I see there is a Fresh and natural in Plymouth, which is close(going to Maple Grove) Been wanting to try some for some time. -grant
  12. Groovy, it was probably sitting right there in front of my face all along.
  13. Hey, I read on some boards that have a "voting/poll" mechanism. Something where you can do something like "What brand of gluten free InsertProductHere do you like best?" Product 1 Product 2 Product 3 Logged in memebers can vote, and it then shows a nice graph of the results. I know those boards use the same system as this one, or at least...
  14. Agreed to the idea "this site is great". I've been on many other sites. Gluten related and ones that are not. So many of the replies to questions are of the following. 1. You didn't say where you were from. You must say where your from. 2. "Search.... this question has been asked 100 times..." 3. Or simple one off "me too" or "ya that". Yes in...
  15. Mission Corn products are gluten free, and yes, they are produced in the same facility, but they are produced on separate lines. Actaully, the above 3 statements are actually FAQs off their website, hadn't checked their website in awhile. I don't remeber all that being there before. Open Original Shared Link (select Food Allergens from the drop down...
  16. If your around Denver, CO, there is a place called Deby's Gluten Free Bakery. Not only do they make good bread, you can by pre-packaged sandwiches, even premade lunchs, meatloaf and potatoes and the like. Open Original Shared Link
  17. Dinty Moore beef stew is also the only pre-canned Beef Stew that I ever liked. Making your own is always nice, but it doesn't beat being able to heat some up out of the can in 3 minutes and eat.. I actually have a drawer full of Stew and Hormel Chili at work for those days when I am a moron and forget my lunch at home(usually forgoton... sitting on the counter...
  18. Depening on what grocery stores you have, most all grocery store chains I have called have a gluten free list of their store brands. I've received lists from Safeway, Kroger, and Albertsons. If you have any those around. Seeing as all 3 places I contacted had one, I figure most other chains do too.
  19. Currently, ALL Campells soups in the US contain gluten, or, at least they don't have them on the gluten free list. Heck, Campells still isn't even using the 2006 labeling laws. Non that I have seen anyhow...
  20. I just asked this question of the The Melting Pot down the street from my house, they said the gluten free list is specific to different stores, this reply is for one in Lousiville, CO, USA. There's not much there, but sounds like it could be done... Gluten in Melting Pot Sauces and Products Updated 10/06/06 We have been...
  21. I mix up what I call my General Purpose Gluten Free flour... its basically 3 cups white rice flour 3 cups brown rice flour 1 box Tapioca flour 1 box Potato Starch flour For the boxes, its usually 16 oz. But depending on what one I buy it ends up being a bit different..
  22. Sobe is Gluten Free. Tyson Frozen bagged chicken breasts is gluten free. Some bags are better than others, taste wise, I've found. True, the fresh stuff is better, but I'd just freeze it straight away anyways.
  23. I buy the Arrowhead Mills Gluten Free Pizza Crust. I've found to be great, but it is extreamly sticky. I actaully end up putting baggies on my hands covered in Pam spray so I can actually spread the crust out onto a pan. Open Original Shared Link
  24. This is one that always surprises me, some of you have seen my posts on here before. I basically had to live in the hospital for almost 2 months last year while recovering from heart surgery. As a patient, they sent a dietition up to me, and she had a full menu of everything they made in the kitchen that was gluten free. When my food was brought to me, a...
  25. That blows, definitely take it back, though, are you sure it wasn't possibly a grain of rice. Some rice types look very similar, though, in any event, there shouldn't be rice in their either(I don't eat Lentil soup, but I didn't think there was rice in it)
