  1. The fact that you were feeling better and then suddenly got D again would sound like a glutening to me. The time it takes for a reaction to start after ingesting gluten can vary from just half an hour or so to three days, so it's not impossible. You might also want to check what else you have been eating, maybe a product you thought was safe isn't after...

  3. I'd suggest, instead of ready made apple sauce: cook an apple in the microwave for a couple minutes. That way you only get apple, you can be 100% sure it's gluten free and doesn't have any extra ingredients, and I also find it tastes better! And don't go overboard with too many apples in a day.   5. If they retested her blood after five months gluten free, it's SUPPOSED to be negative, that's a sign that she has been following the diet. It's not a sign that she doesn't have celiac any more, her doctors are operating on seriously outdated information. You could maybe try to show her dr. Most of us had a period of denial and not quite believing how incredible careful we have to be, but because we live with it every day, that period passes fairly quickly.   8. I'd limit the amount of gluten free bread I eat in the beginning. You'll get better nutrition from veggies, fruit, meat, fish. One thing I like to do to substitute for bread is pancakes, you can easily replace gluten flour with for example buckwheat and cornstarch/rice flour for pancakes.   9. Enterolab doesn't give a celiac diagnosis. Basically what they claim is that anybody who tests positive for gluten intolerance on their test would feel better cutting out gluten. If you already cut out gluten and feel better, you already know that. Pauliina
  10. I remember someone on the board here had elevated liver enzymes before going gluten free, and they retuned to normal on gluten free. But you've been gluten free for a while, were they ever tested before that? Pauliina

  13. Ursa, it can also vary a little from one European country to another. Here in Holland I mostly see "gluten free" versus "naturally gluten free". "Suitable for coeliacs" seems to be a UK phenomenon. All in all I'm actually quite ok with the European labelling laws. It takes some research in the beginning, but that's the case in other parts of the world...

  16. One thing that struck me was that even though your B12 was normal it wasn't very high. It might help to take a supplement if you aren't already. Many people experience symptoms of low B12 way before their levels drop to what doctors consider too low I've noticed reading the boards. Pauliina

  20. Here in Holland they recommend that siblings get tested periodically every few years. The reason is that celiac can get triggered at any age. Even if a child tests negative at one point, it doesn't mean that they will never develop celiac.

  22. One of my most annoying symptoms is fatigue and brain fog. I don't mind the GI symptoms so much. One thing that helps me is taking a vitamin B complex that has all the vit. B's in it, when I get glutenend I take an extra dose. Just check that the ones you get are gluten free! Pauliina
  23. I don't have an official diagnosis because I went gluten free before testing. I do however react to very small amounts of gluten, so I'm very strict about my diet, actually stricter than some diagnosed celiacs I know.
