  1. I have heard that low IgA can void the test results for gluten antibody. The alternate or the test that works together with it looks for IgG antibioties. I am wondering if this can also be lacking in our bodies? If you have the same question, let me know, or stay tuned. I am going to ask the nurse about this tomorrow. If you know the answer, let...
  2. If my kitchen had "gluten crumbs everywhere," I would set up a gluten free kitchen somewhere else in the house or outside. A table works as a countertop. A huge pot is my sink. Then, all it takes is an electric plug in skillet and some utensils. The skillet functions best as a fry pan, but on occasion I have baked potatoes in there. To do that I cover...
  3. I am sorry, I don't remember the brand. I bought it from a vending machine, read the label, and tried to give it away. However, my friend wouldn't take it, so I set it down by the machine and left. Most brands of water do not add it. But really my only point is to read every label which should not hurt. If anyone does know a brand name, let us know.
  4. Since you are doing the cooking, can't you just make gluten free? Meat and vegetables are gluten free. I make excellent muffins out of almond flour. Even my family likes these, but one. Hang in there. My family is not completely on board, but it is getting better. My husband finally agrees that I do have a problem with gluten. He realizes things...
  5. I am so happy you got your diagnosis and are working on being gluten free! Perhaps, with your way of telling the story, you could do a blog. I hope you are able to laugh at yourself some. Instead of dairy I use nut milk, coconut milk, or almond milk. I would stick to eating a nutrient dense diet. Get rid of junk foods and put in meat, vegetables,...
  6. Oops, yeah always read the label like you said. The last one I missed was bottled water. I found eventually that it had added ingredients, but thankfully none disagreed with me. Shew! I had seen one brand of bottled water with wheat added several months back. Just to clarify, I haven't found any since, so I think it is unusual. D
  7. I wouldn't worry about it, unless you get a reaction to it. Buckwheat is not related to wheat.
  8. My fatigue finally cleared after I eliminated foods I was intolerant to, and took B12 and Enzymes. Have you tried those?
  9. Question is, Is it even possible to respond to a gluten-free diet that quick? Any thoughts? My MD doctor claimed that I should feel better from the very first day. Well, I felt pretty good the first 4 days. I had withdrawal/cross contamination issues after that. I hope you will be able to skip that. I have damage that is taking longer to go away,...
  10. As soon as you are done testing, the real gold standard test is to try the diet for several months. I hope you will get some definitive answers. D
  11. Greetings! I hope you will get some definitive answers soon. I did have extreme thirst without having diabetes and have been diagnosed as having celiac. My symptoms included bloating, brain fog, and extreme fatigue. My bloating occurred without pain. I am sensitive to scents and fungi. These also make me bloat. I think many of your symptoms could...
  12. This are interesting pictures. I get the shortness of breath and some interesting swelling lately. I never use to notice, because I was always that way. I didn't have the classic diarrhea symptom- until I went gluten free. Now I react that way when I get gluten. I will be interested to know more about this as you get it out. I am intrigued by the food...
  13. I think I even react to carbonated water. I left root beer and coke behind a couple decades ago. I like to make smoothies with coconut milk and frozen fruit. Oh, I put in a little of home-grown honey if I feel like it. Tonight's was fresh raspberry and it was delicious! I wasn't even sad seeing someone else having ice cream. Mine tasted better! D
  14. Oh, I hope you and your family can be helped by your discovery! It is exciting to think you may delivered from your symptoms.
  15. I believe I had symptoms early, such as I lost the enamel off my teeth, but it was after a bout of mono there were undeniable symptoms. I noticed bloating, fatigue, and sensitivity to perfumes and cigarette smoke. I am currently thinking that the celiac brought on the stress that allowed the mono to devastate me. I guess I may never really know for sure...
  16. That sounds good, I hope it will continue. I can relate to years of things seeming to work for a while. It is scary to start feeling giddy. Get well *** Stay well, D
  17. Greetings Jackie, I choose to believe you have a gluten problem, or real symptoms. They don't sound fun. I remember the extreme fatigue that didn't go away after rest or anything else. I imagine the doctors thought, "Five children, a little tired??? But of coarse." I wasn't taken seriously. I know that hurts. My mother use to tell me that she couldn...
  18. Thanks.
  19. I like my rotational diet so well that I felt disappointed when I heard that it would not have to be forever! I have an eating plan and never have to think about what to make. I just make it.
  20. I hope all will remain quiet!
  21. Scripture and songs about God taking care of me have kept me going through many very hard times. It isn't unusual to be sad when circumstances are sad. I have promises that help carry me through.
  22. I am glad you got your diagnosis. Happy going back to gluten free! D
  23. You may have a gluten problem. The flu could trigger celiac. You should do some tests for Celiac and see if they will help you to discover what is wrong. You could have some other health problem. There must be something at the root of your problem and I hope you will find it. The heart problems do sound disconcerting, and certainly you should find out...
  24. Your weight loss must be caused by something. I don't think you are crazy. Were you eating gluten up until your test? Also you could have low total IgA which would give you a false negative. Did you have the IgG and other tests run also? Sometimes one test will be negative and another positive. First, make sure you are done with all the tests. If...
  25. Tom's natural toothpaste does make toothpaste without fluoride. I am sure there are others. Lately I am using baking soda. It is cheap! D
