  1. I use this recipe for Cheesecake. For the crust, I use the graham crackers from the Grainless Baker and just grind them up in the food processor and add some butter to them, then smoosh into the bottom of the spring form pan. Everyone raves about this cheesecake whenever I make it. Ingredients for Cream Cheese Filling 4 8-ounce packages cream...
  2. Not to be rude, but you didn't seem very open to learning anything about the gluten free needs when I stopped in...
  3. I use graham crackers from The Grainless Baker for my cheesecake crust. It has that same cinammon yummy taste.
  4. Both Fruity& Cocoa Pebbles are gluten free. I've never eaten them, but I don't think Trix are. I really like Nature's Path Honey'd Cornflakes and Erewhon Crispy Brown Rice with Berries. Whole Foods also has a cereal by their own label that tastes like Coco Puffs. Those are my favorites.
  5. The matzoh balls are not ready for sale yet, she is still testing them in the market. But you can order any of her other products off her website and she does ship. Open Original Shared Link You will not be disappointed

  9. It's here! I meant to post last week about this, but forgot. Well here is an indepth look from the Celiac Chicks. I haven't tried it yet myself, but if I get a chance this weekend I'm gonna check it out. Looks like they have gone to great lengths to ensure no cross contamination. From what I've heard, it is only the downtown location. Open Original...
  10. As others have said, a lot of people with celiac can not tolerate oats. Personally I can. But that said, I will only eat oats that have been grown in dedicated fields. Most commercial oats (such as Quaker) are grown in shared fields with wheat and therefore can very easily be contaminated. If you have a fair amount of damage to your intestine you might...
  11. I have been raving about their cookies for some time. I love the rainbow cookies and the lace cookies. The swiss chocolate roll is also pretty amazing. Some of their products you can find year round.
  12. Shabtai Gourmet rainbow cookies and Namaste chocolate cake mix.
  13. Free Foods. It's on 45th b/t 5th & 6th.
  14. I posted this same message on the NYC Celiac Meetup Group this morning: I checked this out on my way to work this morning and was a bit disappointed. Although everything looked wonderful and they did infact have several gluten free desserts, they didn't really seem to understand the concept of cross contamination for those with celiac. There was a...
  15. I would say it depends what your idea of a bachleorette party is. If you're the type that just wants to hang with a few girlfriends, have some wine, good food and a nice atmosphere to gossip... then yes. If you are looking for a crazy, loud restaurant where you can act inappropriate (lol) and just do whatever you want and wear a feather boa... NO! Is...
  16. You're in luck! Mama's is one of the best Italian restaurants with a gluten free menu. It's in Oakdale, which is right next to Bohemia. Here's a link to the address, and also where you can search for more restaurants. Open Original Shared Link
  17. I really like the pizza crust recipe from Annalise Roberts. I also find using a pizza, pizza sauce makes all the difference. I'm partial to Don Pepino sauce.
  18. I checked out their website and they're only open till 5:00 today so I won't get to stop in tonight, but definately will on Monday. I promise to post any info I get. Maybe I'll even stop by on my way to work... I haven't had a brownie for breakfast in years. LOL!!
  19. OMG!! I wish I'd read this 10 minutes ago!! I work on 43 b/t 6th & Broadway and was dying for some sort of snack. Despite the fact our cafeteria has every baked good under the sun obviously all I can get down there is fruit; so strawberries it was (I know it's the smarter choice, but I wanted chocolate). I'm going to check it out on my way to Grand Central...
  20. Yes, Dr. Brown's is fine.
  21. Others may disagree with me, but I wouldn't worry about the mascara. I'm pretty positive I've never ingested mascara.
  22. When I was in the hospital after I had my appendix out, this and jello were the only things the hospital could actually give me that were definately gluten free. Fortunately my dad brought me food, but I was loving the Ensure!! LOL!
  23. Thanks! I eat their popcorn all the time; I love it. They actually have one of their stores a few blocks from my office. I like to get some of the yummy flavors like the chocolately concoctions.
  24. I just discovered the Bakery on Main granola and absolutely love it. It tastes just like regular granola. I tried several others before this and didn't like any of them.
