  1. although he makes valid points, mercola does everything for the dis-promotion of other things to promote his own.
  2. Turtle, I've never tried because I don't use artificial sweeteners, but my aunt (who is a kitchen maniac) is one of those people who makes every kind of food to adapt to every person at every event. Therefore, she always makes cakes and cookies and stuff with sugar and splenda in her recipes. Before gluten-free, I've sampled - there is a slightly aftertaste...
  3. like 2kids4me mentioned, that is why i said the BRAT diet - toast and rice are in that, and they are very easy to digest. i probably wouldn't recommend the quinoa, if you introduce it and have never had it, that might cause havoc. for the small amount of things, for awhile it was just homemade gelatin, egg whites boiled, nuts (for some reason, although...
  4. 718-369-1395 << That is a number for Gefen Food's that I have on a list - I am not sure if they are the same company, as I have never heard of them.
  5. There are four types of MS: one is Relapsing Remitting, and there are periods where you have attacks, 'heal', and then the process goes on again. After having that for awhile (the timeline is at about 30 years right now), it often changes to Progressive, and speeds downhill.
  6. i would nix the red meat. are you eating / drinking anything else? at all? i would also get your hands on some acidophilus, and try some softer, blander foods (think: brat diet). for awhile, i was only eating about six things (eight months or so) and it helped readjust my system.
  7. I was quite certain I've read on here that Lindt is not gluten-free.
  8. I'm allergic to chocolate and it's the same family as cola (which I dont like anyway, but just so you are aware). i use carob in baking and as hot carob drink as a replacement.
  9. i love my gingerbread cookie recipe (you can cut them larger for a house). it's on my site, below, as i don't have time to write it out now (under baking). last year, we decorated them with raisins and the christmas coloured skittles.
  10. NicoleAJ, I have brown suede knee-high boots (from Aldo, so a dressy pair), and I bought this "gorgeous" gold glittery fabric and wrapped them.
  11. like carlab mentioned - eat a healthy balanced diet. it's possible you could be missing out on vital things if you aren't. also - make sure you exercise daily! even if some days it's just a short walk. i hope you feel better and congrats on the upcoming wedding.
  12. one year i was she-ra - gold boots, sword, cape, crown, the works.
  13. We use Kirkland walnuts and almonds here without an issue.
  14. try the support at somethingfishy.org. i know you don't want a lecture, but please be careful. i am 5'7'' and because of the celiac, and got so ill, i was down to 78lbs last December and almost died (although i was oblivious to it at the time). because of that, my ovaries have shut down and i am potentially going through menopause. i am 23. there are so...
  15. I'm not surprised of the sugar - a lot of celiacs have huge blood sugar problems; as for the fats - well, fatty stools, right? undigested fats. i think that it is awesome it was in there - so they were off, yes, but at least they were exploring it at that time.
  16. In general, red meat is hard to digest, esp. if you've been off of it for awhile. However, you shouldn't 'force' yourself to have it strictly for the iron content: Nuts, seeds, molasses, dried fruit, potatos, broccoli, Brussels sprouts, rice, tofu, soybeans, legumes are all high in iron, as well as fortified foods (like cereal), and seaweed (which is extremely...
  17. it's a very thorough book. i bought it, like mouse, to loan to my friends. i own a few books and it's a very easy read with the stuff that other are most interested in knowing as opposed to all of the science behind it.
  18. Darn! In our newspaper last night, they had a recipe and I remembered your post. So I came back to give it to you - and now you need eyelashes! Well, darn! Good luck though.
  19. I can answer the last part about taking awhile to get well - it's because you villi are damaged and they need to mend themselves. the other questions - they somewhat sound bogus to me, but i've really no idea. i hope you feel better.
  20. Amaranth is fine. And really, any bread maker is fine... I bought a cheap Black and Decker before I heard any reocmmendations, and just pull out the paddle before the second knead. I know the new Cuisinart has a gluten-free setting.
  21. Claritin kids is gluten-free.
  22. Open Original Shared Link By Lisa Sweetingham, Court TV Thu Oct 12, 5:41 PM ET LOS ANGELES (Court TV) - McDonald's french fries caused an autistic child to suffer from tantrums and digestive problems, according to a lawsuit filed by the boy's guardian in Los Angeles Friday. 23. The only non-raw food I consume is cereal; so i guess i'm about 99% raw! - you should check out www.rawfoodtalk.com
  24. Hi Donna, I am not positive, so I don't want to lead you in the wrong direction. Someone, I'm sure, can post the correct answer. Mind if I ask where you are in Ontario? Think about it this way: if you FEEL better gluten-free, then GO gluten-free. You know your body better than any tests, doctors, anything. Regardless, if your symptoms subside...
  25. It's different in Canada and US - just so you know.
