  2. Last time I checked, the 13-Bean Soup Mix from Bob's was not in the gluten-free facility.
  3. I like Earth Balance, too, but sometimes buy Soy Garden (same company and usually right beside each other).
  4. It can be dairy-derived, but it usually is not. According to the new laws, anyway, if it was dairy it will be indicated.
  5. There is a brand they carry here in a store in Niagara, so I know they are available in Canada. The store is a chef specialty store, so if you have one in your area (really high-end chef tools, gadgets, dinnerware) they can probably order them in.

    ARCHIVED Sulfites?

I've been sulphite sensitive since I was a kid. Many things have sulphites (including naturally occuring ones). Try some other things and see how you feel. Do you react to wine? Other dried fruit? Pretty much anything with dried onions in it?
  7. Make cupcakes, bake, then using a pastry bag, while they are not, push through with a cream filled mix. Using a combination of a bit of butter/dairy-free margarine, icing sugar, a bit of extract and milk or dairy-free milk to thin it out is perfect. I don't know what a cupcake like that you are talking about tastes like... Never had that sort of thing, but...
  8. I make applebutter by just cooking down my homemade applesauce more. In an oven at about 325/350, I mix together about 5 lbs. of apples, sliced (I leave the skin for nutrition, but it's up to you... And I think for the SCD you need peeled fruit?), about 2 1/2 c. apple cider, and cinnamon. Bake for about 1 1/2 - 2 hours, mashing when they get soft and...
  9. That's my bread recipe and creation. You can use the eggs or substitute the same amount with either Ener-G or the flax meal method (which are two ways I make it personally egg-free. It's very forgiving.
  10. Diet is only half of the equation. If you aren't exercising, then you won't lose weight. Cardio and strength training are important - not only for weight loss, but for maintaining that, and also being overall healthy. Also, "low carb" diets aren't particularly healthy. Eliminating refined carbohydrates is the better option. You should definitely be eating...
  11. Why don't you make pudding, instead, and then cool it? Thin it out with more milk, and use a straw.
  12. grains, legumes, starchy vegetables are all higher in carbohydrates and fat free or almost fat free.
  13. Soy flour is heavier, more dense, and higher in protein. Quinoa flour or a nut flour would work well.
  14. I use Canada's, too. It's this one: Open Original Shared Link
  15. For people in Toronto, on Sunday at Nature's Bay health food store on College St., I'm doing a brief talk about living gluten/dairy free for celiac disease and autism. There will be goodies, and signed books. Hope you can make it!
  16. Please excuse me if I'm wrong, but do you have Mission in the Kitchen?
  17. Hi Sarah, Yes, check out the link in the profile
  18. Judy - if it's not too late, check my book
  19. I doubt any of their appetizers are, but I don't know. You're probably better off checking out costco or the deli.
  20. They have a book in store that lists everything. Just ask to see it. I stopped eating it years ago (although I am a vegan now) because the first time I saw the book, I was horrified of all of their additives.
  21. I chew Trident without issues. Many people do on this forum, I believe. I recall reading that one of their Whitening ones is not glutenfree.
  22. All starches (and flours, too) are interchangable in my recipes. They are all really forgiving. Thanks for the wonderful comments, Emily Elizabeth!
  23. I think it's luck of the draw - I ate once at Whole Foods and felt fine and was so excited... Next time, sick as anything. I won't eat there again. The convenience is never worth it, to me.
  24. yes, all of my cosmetics are gluten-free. Some people don't worry about that, but I do. As formulae constantly change, I would just check the ingredients next time you buy them and give the company a call. I always call when I rebuy as twice my products all of a sudden had different ingredients.
  25. Thanks! That means a lot I was having a poop day.
