  1. I wouldn't join a lawsuit but I am really upset about the whole McDonalds thing. I used to eat there probably once or twice a week. This is the only restaurant where I live that claims to have any gluten free items. I have felt safe in that whereever I went I could eat the fries at McDonalds. I beleive I am entitled to my feelings on this matter so...
  2. never again. Is there a thread where we are discussing this? I would like to go there and blow off some steam
  3. Proir to diagnosis I lost about 25 pounds and after diagnosis I didn't put any weight on, I seemed to either drop a few pounds or maintain the weight. In the last six months I have put back on a few pounds and am now 5'7" and when I weighed last week I was at 125. So that means I have put on about 10 pounds, but it has taken me 3 years to do it. I think...
  4. What about flavorings? I think they use other grains besides wheat for things like that.
  5. My mom and brother were also recently diagnosed with celiac.
  6. Hi Karen: How did you add something under your picture? Thank-you Sally
  7. Hi celiac3270 Could I get a copy? Thanks Granger279@aol.com
  8. Wow Kimberly: You have a westie? You have no idea how much I want one!
  9. JC Just from my own experience I would be careful about your son having any big meal before the prep. The thing is that whatever goes in has to come out. If I had it to do over again I would of only had clear liquids 2 days prior. Maybe save the big meal for after the procedure. As for passing the gene onto him, don't feel bad, there are so many things...
  10. Egg shaped peanut butter cups have gluten?
  11. Hi Stef: I spent 2 months at my mom's and we ate gluten free. After I left she started getting sick and so on one of her trips to the doctor I asked that he check her for Celiac. Guess what positive, so it can happen. That was about 5 months ago and she is doing great!
  12. I had gone to the doctor about 13 years ago, he ran a blood test that came back positive for a little known disease called celiac, which he assured me was so rare that he was sure I didn't have it. I took him at his word and spent several years very sick then finally went back to another doctor after losing a lot of weight and being very sick who diagnosed...
  13. Jnkmnky: The thought of Dominos may not make your son's mouth water, but your talking about it just made mine!
  14. My mother was diagnosed with this a few months ago, me about 3 years ago. Based on that my brother had the blood test. He tested high positive but did not have any symptoms. He then had the biopsy, his villi was flattened and the scan on his bones showed he had damage. Based on this and what I have learned the last 3 years I would have your son go gluten...
  15. I ate oats after I read about the study and got very ill with the usual symptoms so I won't try them again.
  16. I don't know if it has changed or not but I have read that the reason Blue Cheese is not ok for us is that it is grown on bread. I have had the ranch at Outback and it's really good.
  17. Granger279@aol.com Thanks
  18. German and Dutch
  19. Hi Mieux: I took me about three years to really feel good. I think because I had really severe symptoms for about ten years before I was actually diagnosed. Like Jersey Angel said you might want to checfk to be sure everything including make-up toothpaste etc. is gluten-free
  20. Sammie: I would love a copy also. Granger279@aol.com Thanks
  21. Rae: thanks for sharing that Sally
  22. Hi Belinda: I think within the next few weeks she will feel better. I don't know that they can put down an exact date, but they are giving you a date where she will show improvement. Best of luck and welcome to the boards
  23. celiac3270: Does that mean we only now have to look for things that have oats, barley and Rye? Will they be under any other names? Thanks
  24. Thanks guys: I would of eaten it based on that article. What a mistake that would of been.
  25. Many bakeries, for example, are making bread of spelt flour, a slightly sweeter and more expensive form of wheat, says Guy Souerbry of Village Baker in Ashland, who makes about 50 loaves of it a month. "It’s for people with wheat allergies, who say they get skin rash, digestion problems, tingling, welts. They don’t get it with spelt," says Souerbry, wh...
